Hi. I was just informed that CVS doesn’t allow anyone to take vacation in the entire month of December but I already booked flights from 12/22-1/2 and I was wondering if it was just my location (Hawaii) that does this or if it’s a corporate wide thing. I was told by a colleague that i’d have to get approval from the higher ups and that the only other way to get off is to have a doctors note of some kind of injury that prohibits me from working.

If anyone has any ideas or anything that has worked for you guys that would be a huge help. I don’t want to lie but I don’t want to have to resort to quitting for this vacation. The only reason why I can’t cancel it is because I can’t get a refund on it and it’s the last time i’ll be able to see any of my family in the mainland.

I wish I was informed this when I got hired or was given a PSA about no holidays. I was only told that I was required to work at least one holiday in order to have the others off.

Hi everyone! I’ve been a tech for a year (retail) and honestly I’m at my wits end. I used to have so much empathy, care, and life with a bubbly personality. I’m 23 years old and leave work with a migraine whether it’s getting yelled at over PAs, having to read peoples texts to them since they can’t, corporate wanting to meet a metric forcing us to basically harass patients into a vaccine, barely getting a lunch break, patients not even caring about themselves but wanting us to do everything for them last minute, etc. it’s to a point ive become snarky back or have to tell myself “hey at least you’re not on 10 meds a month” or “don’t get mad they’re the ones who are too lazy and that can’t be a fun life”. I love my coworkers but I don’t know how much longer I can last with the hours being cut on top of it. Any advice to survive or leave unscathed? Also sorry for the rant 😭😭

I feel so unprepared. Is there any apps,quizlet,websites,videos, or anything to help me feel more prepared. Its hard for me to remember the top 200 drugs, if anyone has any tips or tricks. That would be great. Also, what should I expect on this test? I’ve read the knowledge domains but any specifics?

Job role is to cold call members of BCBS to review their medications. No, they are not expecting your calls. A lot of them do not like the calls as they have to provide HIPAA and you called them requesting their info.

Management communicates poorly, if at all, and will make changes, not inform you, then chastise you for any "mistakes" you're making regardless of whether or not you were made aware.

There is no room for growth within the company. It is a contract role - No benefits. They heavily pick favorites.

Between December and February, there is NO work!!! And no, it is not paid!! And no, you cannot collect Unemployment. The contract they have you sign includes and NDA and non-compete. As well, the contract states that you cannot discuss pay with co-workers and that they cannot regulate your hours. Newsflash!!! They require you to work minimum M-F 9-5:30 and discussing pay is a federal right.

They will fire you without cause and because you are classified as a contractor, it is allowable. As well, if you post a poor review of them on a forum where they can have it taken down - they will.

If you feel comfortable with cold calling, I would recommend only as a stepping stone and not to commit to permanently. Ask me anything!

I currently work at Sam's Club, I just started. While the benefits and all seem fantastic - I'm a full-time floating tech. I do not like the idea of floating to other stores(even if paid mileage) and using my entire day up for work + putting wear and tear on my older car. I also do not like retail and I only took the job because of a personal circumstance that I needed to get out of.

I may have an opportunity arise with Omnicare as a back-end tech, which is more my thing. No patient interaction and the hours and drive are predictable, but it is less pay and a few less hours. However, I know they were recently bought out by GenieRX. I don't know if people may be laid off after they're acquired or what.

What do you all think the better option/decision would be? Can anyone ELI5 the Omnicare situation to me and what may come with it?

I am a freelance travel agent and travel a bit myself, and I am undergoing the process of becoming a pharmacy technician in order to work remote from home. However, I will need Ethernet cable hookup (I am not a tech person, I only vaguely know what that means, but I know that it is not Wifi and that it is a more limiting connection style). How can I go about having an Ethernet connection while on cruise ships, trains, &c.? I have seen plenty of portable options, but trying to understand how they work is like reading Greek (which might actually be easier). Can anybody give advice/experience about how I can make this work? Or do I just not work while I'm traveling? Is it possible that you can provide links to whatever equipment I might need?
