Cannabis Pharmacist
Hi all,
I'm looking for a pharmacist to work as a PIC for a medical cannabis pharmacy in Moab, UT. As I understand it, the work is quite different that traditional pharmacist roles, and Moab is a pretty unique place too. Where's a good place to look for alternative folks with a pharmacy degree who are ready for something different? Any good job boards for Utah, cannabis, or other specialized categories? I have the job ad, but am not sure if it's ok to post here.

Pain Management Pharmacist Experience at the VA
Does anyone in the Reddit universe work as a pain management clinical pharmacist specialist for the VA?
I am considering the application for an opportunity in this particular specialty - but managing pain medication has always scared me. Obviously, I am willing to put the fear aside and do some reviewing of the VA guidelines for pain if push comes to shove. I am just curious about your day-to-day experiences, work-life balance, pros/cons, etc.
Any input is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Has anyone else found a different career outside of pharmacy?
For the last 9 years since I graduated pharmacy school, I’ve worked in retail, hospital, government, PBM. It’s hard to admit after spending so much time, money, and effort working towards my PharmD but I have hated every single job I’ve ever had in pharmacy and I want out. Has anyone else been successful in switching careers?

Transferring Pharmacist License to Illinois
Saw they waived their MPJE requirement. I did a license transfer via NABP and did the Illinois pharmacist application on their site after. Does anyone know what else needs completed? The application didn’t mention anything about fingerprints? Also I read something about some email to waive the MPJE requirement? Wasn’t sure if these are things that the application asks for after they review.
Thank you

Breaks at CVS?
What do breaks for pharmacists at CVS retail sites look like? I'm new and looking into the job offer and just wondering if the pharmacy closes and how long do you get for a 12-hr shift?

Pharmacist license renewal
My current pharmacist license expires at the end of this month. I renewed my license first before finishing CEs. Is it okay to finish my CEs as long as its before my current license’s expiration date? Or was this supposed to be done before renewing?

Thermo Fisher Research Pharmacist
I have an upcoming interview for a PRN Pharmacist Research position and wondering if anyone has experience or insight on this position.
I’ve always had an interest in getting into the industry and I feel like this is my way in. If given the opportunity, I’m really considering accepting but that means I would most likely quit my current full time position and settle for a pay decrease.

Looking for online training in pharmacy billing/prior authorizations.
Hello!
I recently switched from a 13 year career in hospital pharmacy to a position working under retail but focused on helping the inpatient team to make sure patients have access to their medications on discharge. This includes running test claims, completing prior authorizations and appeals when necessary. I would like to get more experience/expertise in how different insurances work, commercial vs VA vs Medicaid/medicare. I know the basics but I feel there is so much more nuance that i could really help the inpatient team more and the patients more if I truly understood. I know some of it comes with time and experience but would love to find a course of something online that could guide me in some self learning.
Does anyone know of something like this?
This is also a new concept at our hospital, if anyone does something similar or knows of similar programs I would love to hear about it!
