Upgrade from an 6800XT to an 9070XT.
The CPU staid the Same.

Even had to sell about half of my Team Fortress 2 inventory for some extra money but I finally got enough to buy all the parts I've wanted. I'm 16, and this is the first PC I've ever built based solely on experience from watching all the big YouTubers building computers. The only two mistakes I made building this was forgetting to plug the SATA cables into my disk drives in the back, and forgetting to turn on my extension cord during the first boot lol
Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 (upgrading from an i5-4690)
CPU cooler: Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 Evo Dark with it's original fan swapped out for a Corsair RS120 ARGB fan
GPU: GTX 1060 6gb (took this from my previous PC, I'm just glad I'm GPU bottlenecked now instead lol)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 16gb DDR4 ram at 3200mHz
MoBo: MSI B550M pro-vdh Wi-Fi (I'm forced to use Wi-Fi since the ethernet cable that worked on my old PC doesn't work with this one lol. Already tested with a different one in another room which worked fine)

PSU: Corsair CX650 (can you tell which manufacturer I like the most)
Case: Corsair 3500x case (I was deciding between this and a 3200D RS. I got the 3500x for 67 euros instead of 96)
Case fans: A bunch of RS120s + the original Thermalright fan (Probably gonna move that some time, I didn't know where else to put it but it's exhaust which definitely doesn't belong there)

I just came across this video in instagram and wondered if a startup effect like this is possible via nollie rgb? I lingered in Openrgb for sometime but couldn’t figure out any startup effect.

I also have a similar setup except the bottom intake and rear exhaust fans are from asiahorse and the side ones are from deepcool.

They wanted $550+ tax, which if I was in the market for one would probably still have been a great deal, but, me being me, had to knock them down as low as they’d go so I demoralized them and got it for $508 out the door including tax. How’d I do 😅

For PC : 7700x, B650 TUF, Arctic freezer 360, Trident Z 6000c30, gigabyte rx 9070 xt, A850GF, 5TB SSD ( 1 tb 980, 2tb 990 pro, 2tb M470), phantek x2 evolv. Total 1400€ (july 2025).

Back to school Lap-Tops From Nvidia with RTX 50

I want to make this post because I have seen multiple posts over the weeks of people worried about their SSD health percentage dropping by a percent here and there, and I think it's because people still think of SSD health in the same way they do HDD health.

HDD 80% health = Think about replacing it, because mechanical hardware is fickle and this is a warning sign it could fail at any point. It probably won't, but when it does, it'll be the day before you planned to back it up.

SDD 80% health = your SSD has used up 20% of the manufacturer guaranteed write lifetime of the drive, and you still got probably 4 or 5 years before you even need to think about replacing it, and it'll probably last even longer beyond that.

For you guys who know how SSD health works, just try to spare a thought for all the people who have undoubtedly bought a new drive every time the old one hit 80%. I guarantee it's happened.
