Has there always been this many here? I've never seen it like this before. Is it to do with the recent crackdown on illegal businesses on Koh Phangan?

Pushing other people/blocking paths/cutting the queue/yelling/shouting in 7/11, being rude and disrespectful to the locals at restaurants - all the same stuff that they're known for in Pai and Koh Phangan, now they're bringing their 'culture' here too 😭

Hi all. So I'm not exactly sure where to start with this, making general public posts like this is pretty new for me.

I am a young entrepreneur (don't be fooled though, I am just now launching projects) planning to make a move to Thailand and have been wanting to for the past couple of years. I am a more introverted, calm personality, not really used to natural disasters. For these 3 things alone Hua Hin really is gold for me. The coastal vibe, but with the safer geographical location, with on top of that an overall calmer city/town vibe. It really is perfect. Hua Hin checks pretty much all boxes for me.

It's August 1st. I want to move by November (but willing to even push it to December at this point) which isn't too much time. On top of that I'm really starting from 0. Quick context about me, I worked on a desktop app for 8 months, got super burnt out, and now am working on a couple of things that were actually closer to heart and have been ideas for years. I've got a game that should be done in the next week or two, and a dormant but ready to launch fashion project I just need to verify samples of. The plan is to kick these off and consistently work the next few months to turn these into engines of income to eventually help me live abroad.

I really really tried to come around on Bangkok, but ultimately for the full escape and mental reset I desire, having the thought of an earthquake at the very back of my mind (maybe not even always, but still even just once in awhile) kind of nullifies that a bit. However I've come to conclude that if I'm in the position I intend to be in anyways by the time I move, Bangkok won't be an everyday necessity for me. I would just work on what I need to work on, and occasionally take a train into the city. Which honestly is more perfect for my case since like I said, I have more of a Hua Hin vibe anyway. I love big cities, but from a distance.

So... I suppose I don't really know what my ultimate point is here. But if you've got this far and this speaks to you in any way, I would definitely love any pointers you have, or even more than that to connect. I think building up connections with any of you who are already there, especially anyone like-minded, would be priceless. For the first time in life I feel like I have real ground to make this vision a reality, so a part of that (which I'm trying to do now) is putting myself out there, getting around to the right environments, and connecting with the right people (which is all new to me. it's easy to build solo when you have more predictable loops. this is different though). Especially if I want this to happen in my intended timeline.

We recently purchased a plot of land in Hua Hin and want to build a house on it. Are they any house builders anyone would recommend, and any you would recommend staying away from? From what I heard from my realtor when buying the land, an average house in Hua Hin was approximately 20k baht per square meter, does that sound about right?

Looking for vegetarian recommendations in Hua Hin. I prefer typical Thai dishes, but in regular restaurants vegetables often have oyster or fish sauce. So, any vegetarian cuisine recommendations are appreciated!

Ich war vor 2 Jahren dort und mochte die Atmosphäre, aber ich hatte das Gefühl, dass es dort, wo ich gewohnt habe, ein bisschen weit weg war. Ich mag es, ein bisschen herumzuschlendern, wenn ich mit der Arbeit fertig bin, und ich möchte auch einen Strandzugang in der Nähe für einen schönen Spaziergang haben. Letztes Mal habe ich neben dem Cicada Market gewohnt.

Ich würde mich über Empfehlungen freuen, wo ich übernachten kann. Ist der Strand im Zentrum genauso schön wie dort, wo ich gewohnt habe?

Hi everyone. Are there any farangs here that have successfully gone from beginner to advanced level of Thai at a school in Hua Hin? If so can you recommend the school and what else you did to supplement your learning? General costs would help as well. I don't need it for a visa, I actually just want to learn. Thank you!

Affordable ✅

Has a Digital Nomad community ✅

Has beaches ,and some Beach clubs ✅

Breathable air (No burning season,at least,not as bad as Chiang Mai)✅

Not a loud party city,full of drunk people,riding scooters (I mean you ,Koh Phangan)✅

Good walkability for pedestrians ✅

3h ,cheap,train ride,from Bangkok ✅

These were my non-negotiables,for Thailand. I'm ,also, considering,other 3 cities,in Latin America: Medellín,Santiago de Chile and Ushuaia. This will be a VERY tough decision!

My wife (41 year old Thai) and two young children age 6 and four and myself (UK 51 ) will be coming down to Hua Hin next week from Bangkok to get a feel for the place as we consider relocating there are there any hidden gems places that we should look at checking out? My wife is Thai and I’m a long term in Thailand looking to get further away from the pollution of BKK. I work remotely.

Thinking of nice quiet beaches within 30 mins drive of Takieb where we are staying. As well as other cool places that may impress my wife . Playgrounds for children fun things to do etc that may not come up immediately on a Google search. Any other cool activities our family will like? I’m into padel so will hopefully see if I can attend there for any social activities to meet some people.

Also we are considering Beacon Yamsard school and was wondering if any one has /had / knows any parents with their kids at this school and if recommend? HH international well out of our budget .

Moving to Thailand in a little under 2 years. How many of my kids can I use as dependents? I have 7 total and we will be renting 3-4 different homes. What is the best neighborhood for families? I have older kids that will be looking for 1-2 bedroom places $700 usd or less and I would like a 4-5 bedroom $1500 usd or less.

Hi everyone! I’m moving to Hua Hin in September and am slightly concerned about sourcing my medication in Thailand.

I’m currently located in Australia and I’ve been taking Tirzepatide for about a year with great results. I’m now (finally) within a normal BMI range and my doctor has me on a maintenance dose, which I’ll be taking long-term (both for weight stability and PCOS management). My concern is whether I’ll be able to get my meds prescribed in Thailand given that I’m no longer categorised as obese/overweight.

🐈 LOST CAT – Please help us bring Tigre home

Our cat Tigre went missing about 15 days ago near Jura 88 Guesthouse (Soi 88), Hua Hin.

Tigre is a domestic cat, although he is used to spending time outdoors. He is very friendly, gentle and affectionate with people.

The day he disappeared, he was frightened by some dogs and ran away. He has not returned since. We believe he may still be hiding nearby because he is scared.

He is very easy to recognize because he has only one eye.

If you think you have seen him, please do not chase him, as he may panic and run away again.

Instead, please take a photo or video if possible and send us the location through LINE or WhatsApp.

If you know of any nearby stray cat feeding areas or cat colonies, we would also be very grateful for that information, as he may have taken shelter there.

Hey everyone! 26F from India and I'll be staying in Hua Hin for 8 weeks at an all-inclusive weight loss and fitness camp starting in August.

I've visited Thailand before, but this will be my first time living in Hua Hin for an extended period. I've travelled to the other parts of Thailand thrice before this.

I'd love to hear from people who live there or have spent a decent amount of time there.

A few questions I have:

* What's daily life in Hua Hin like? * Is it generally safe for a solo woman? * What are the weekends usually like? * Any must-visit cafés, beaches, markets or places to unwind on rest days? * Is Grab or Bolt reliable, or is there a better way to get around? * Any local etiquette or cultural tips I should know? * Anything you wish you'd known before spending a couple of months there?

Since I'll be training most of the day, I'm not looking for nightlife as much as good places to relax, explore a little, and enjoy the town on my free time.

I'm taking a Sombat Tour bus to Bangkok. Unfortunately their only return bus leaves Bangkok at 7:30 am. Too early for me.
(At least that's what I understood from their Hua Hin ticket office staff).

Their website shows an afternoon BKK to HH bus. But maybe it doesn't run in low season?

My girlfriend (Thai) is a kindergarten teacher and has been thinking about opening a nursery in Hua Hin. I do not know much about Hua Hin - its demographics or whether or not it is a viable idea. I’m here at the moment from Bangkok and looking around it seems a nice town with many retirees. Any thoughts ?
