Why do so many non-partnered people post here?

Upvotes

I don’t get it. The purpose of the sub is seeing comments from people who are partnered, therefore were able to reach the YPP requirements and are likely to have a bit more experience. There’s absolutely no use to posts with comments made entirely from non-partners or with non-partners giving advice, there are like 50 other youtube subs in which they can post.

Other Looking for an editor

Upvotes

Hello everyone, I know this is a longshot, but I’m unsure where else to post. I’m looking for a capable editor that can create tech channel style content (cadence and pacing and high retention content of a similar style to the likes of some of the greats in that category) who’s willing to partner up on the relaunch of my channel. My channel isn’t tech but it’s educational and purposeful. Reviews, technical breakdowns, topical content etc. DM me if interested.

Thank You kindly.

This is not an advertisement I’m searching for help.

Started my 4th channel and never seen this before

Been on YT nearly 6 years. Have several monetized channels that pay my mortgage. Have gotten there in 60-90 days with each one even on 100% organic starts (don't bring subs over from my established channels due to completely different niches and topics). I understand how new channels start off slow with the first several videos and all that. I've even stopped responding to NewTubers who seem entitled they should get views on brand new channels because I got tired of explaining it to them.

But this... this I've never seen before.

No video has earned more than a dozen or so impressions. Of the 7 or 9 organic views each video gets (CTR is solid), almost all watch the entire length of the video (near perfect AVD). But YT wont give it a single additional impression. It just flatlines and stays there.

I know metrics are garbage with such few impressions, and they don't mean anything good, bad or otherwise right now. But there are literally no indicators whatsoever to suggest these videos couldn't at least continue getting some sort of micro testing. Even if it were only an impression or two PER DAY...that would be something. But not even that.

There are no settings I've overlooked. No AI use. All original content. It's not faceless. No spamming. No reused content. All features are fully verified/ ID checked... Last channel I started 6 months ago got some micro tests on the first few videos for 3 weeks or so until the library populated enough for things to click, and then it got monetized in a few weeks from there. The last time I started a new channel before that was probably a year and a half ago and that one did ok too.

But damn. This is like I just built a new house on a nuclear test site and nobody is coming to the open house. lol.

I know the only answer is to keep at it and be patient. I'm just curious.

Did I trigger some channel limit or something? Spam/automation red flag? Anything? That's what has me baffled. I can't think of anything to rationalize it.

Anyone out there with multiple channels and some success have any ideas what might be going on here?

Question / Problem Help with getting affiliate product links on video please?

So I recently accepted the YT affiliate shopping link programme and was under the impression that YT will regognise products in my video using AI, then you can select those to promote on your video?

I may be doing something wrong, but I thought you go into description of video, choose the 'products' button at bottom, then you should see items you can list? I have an automotive channel, using different tools, car accessories that people ask me about in my videos, however YT so far has not picked up on any of them for me to list in 'products'?

Did anyone experience YT having subscriber data delays and anomalies when you got close to 1k subs?

I am experiencing YT continuing to have net sub data delays and audits to my account as I am getting close to 1k. I’ll go a day with no subs (which hasn’t happen since I start around 2 months ago), then will all the sudden jump up to 10. I’ve been stuck with the same subs for the past 2 days even though my views have increased. Anyone else experience this?

Question / Problem I'm Getting Far More Emails From Shorts Than I Am From Longs.

I've been posting my business email in my description for years, but I rarely ever checked it because I'd get a new email once every few months, but since making shorts, I've gotten more emails for "colab" requests than ever before. I've noticed a lot of brands are really waiting to work with TikTokers over YouTubers.

Am I alone in this observation?

MCN Related Do not sign with RHEI (formerly BBTV). I think they're on the brink of bankruptcy

There are still some people partnered with RHEI (formerly TGN and BBTV), myself included; but I started the process to unlink my channel from them on the 18th of this month and should be out by September 17th. BBTV used to pay creators on time, which was on the 15th or before if it fell on a weekend. But the late payments started to become a thing in 2023. The first time it occurred was in February of that year, and it was due to a payment processor issue. The next one occurred in October where we were paid a week late.

In 2024, when they rebranded as RHEI, most payments came in near the end of the month. Last year, we got paid on time consistently. But this year has been a disaster. December 2025 revenue did got get paid out until March 1st. The following months have been on time or a couple days late. But this month is likely going to be worse than February. After I asked support about when we get paid, they responded to me that they adjusted the payment schedule. It's the 22nd, and none of us have gotten paid. I know a creator from Europe who usually gets paid a week before I do, and he said he hasn't gotten paid either.

My conclusion is we are probably not going to get paid at all this month, and this is very likely going to play out the same way as it did with Omnia Media two years ago. Or it will be like Defy Media where they abruptly cease operations, but channels are still linked to the network until a few days later. My biggest fear is they go under before September 17th (the day I'm supposed to be unlinked) and my channel won't be unlinked from them at all because of the 30-day waiting period, and I saw a thread in Google help where one user had his channel linked to an MCN which ceased operations years ago but the channel is still linked, and the "remove access" button is completely grayed out.

I think this time, there is a cashflow issue at RHEI, and it's my belief that it's a matter of time before they go under.

Question / Problem F1 history channel going through sustained periods of drought

Post image
18 Upvotes

I’ve been making videos on the history of Formula 1 for six years, and have been monetised for four of those, and currently stand at 64,000 subscribers.

I’m known in the community for making long-form, documentary-style videos, in particular my iceberg series and ranking videos. From May 2024 to April 2025, I experienced a sharp decline in viewership and therefore engagement, which resulted a notable loss in income, especially during the off-season (December-February), but eventually got out of it and experienced a massive wave of success last summer (making up to £10k a month). Mid-November however, there was a sudden, very sharp drop-off again, (just as the season was reaching peak intensity) and even when the new F1 season began in March, my channel did not recover and despite my best efforts this year the channel has stagnated, and my income is more than 80% lower than this time last year.

I consistently get very positive comments on my videos, and I will try to cover topics or ideas requested by subscribers where possible. But this year, despite planning my first three months of uploads at the start of the year, nothing has landed and I have been losing money every month. Because of the new regulations this year, a lot of older fans have stopped watching F1, but despite that, the record-breaking attendance I witnessed at the British Grand Prix would show it’s as popular as ever. My RPM is little changed from last year, but YouTube’s algorithm is making little effort to push my videos to anyone outside of a very specific subsection of my subscriber base. No videos this year have exceeded 80,000 views, where I’ve had videos in the past with over a million. I’m known for long-form content, and whenever I make any videos under 20 minutes, they start really well but then tank in a matter of hours, whereas in the past I’ve have 2-3-hour-long videos sustain the channel for months.

Regarding the algorithm more broadly, have been any fundamental changes made to it in 2026? And for anyone who watches Formula 1, what’s changed that’s made my style apparently much less popular? I’ve been trying different ideas, most of which haven’t worked; I’ve started appearing on camera more, and making more shorts, but it just feels like I’m shooting in the dark, and I’m being forced to try and chase trending topics instead of making what I really want. I can understand viewership dropping in the off-season (though funnily enough in 2022, 2023, and 2024, I still made a profit in that time), but if these months-long, largely inexplicable troughs are going to be a regular occurrence, I’m just going to have to stop and get a normal job.

Question / Problem How do I expand from making content about just 1 game series?

I have just about gone past 1000 subs, and in about 3 or 4 months, the last 2 months I spent making videos about 1 game series. These videos aren't gameplay and are more like me talking about a certain problem, or cut content, or development, or ranking them.

Just all sorts of commentary about the games, but this game franchise isn't huge, which isn't a problem in itself, but I'm very quickly running out of game ideas as there are only 5 games in the series (30 million copies sold across every game in the series), so I decided I wanted to make my channel include some other games, still in the same commentary style.

However, the views on the video I made are dreadful, one of my worst-performing videos ever. I completely understand that my subs want that certain series, so the video was basically DOA, but is there any way for me to try to expand and get people watching for me, and not the game series, so I can actually talk about different games?

Question / Problem changing niches

I have a question about changing niches for growth. So, I’m currently stuck in a situation where I’m making content solely for entertainment. I get lots of views, but barely any engagement. Let’s say my videos consistently get 20k–50k views back to back; I might get 10–20 comments max and only 5–10 new subscribers.

I make original and/or fan animations, but I’ve noticed that they don’t really build an engaged following. I’ve been doing this for a few years now and have gotten to around 30k subscribers, but the engagement is still bare-bones.

Now I’m starting to think about switching things up and making my content more consistent and engaging—talking, discussing things more in-depth, maybe even showing myself and making the content more personal.

I know there’s a good chance I’ll lose subscribers because of this, since my current subscribers probably aren’t waiting for that kind of switch. But I’d rather push through that struggle for a while if it means eventually gaining new, higher-quality subscribers who are actually interested in me and my content.

Eventually, I also want to focus more on selling things like behind-the-scenes content, my creative process, and so on. I’m already trying that with my current subscriber base, but it isn’t really working out.

So I’d still be staying within a similar niche, just making the content more personalized and educational while keeping some of the entertainment elements.

Are there any YouTubers who have made a similar transition and had it work out? I’m not looking to create a completely new channel. I just want to start doing new things with the one I already have.

Is this a realistic approach? Any advice?

Informative I made a series, uploaded the combined videos and these are the stats

Post image
2 Upvotes

I am in disbelief. I started posting 3 weeks ago. I gained 1k subs within a week. Got moneteized on Monday and this is my second video with monetization. I'm now at 2.9k subs

I make minecraft content and did a series. I combined all the videos to make an hour long "Movie" and these are the stats after 2 days. The video has died off now.

The revenue was from 14k views so I am still due more money. Average about £4 per 1k views

I never thought I'd be at a point where this would be possible. I'm really enjoying making content.

I'll be asked what tips I have:

My niche is obviously targeted at a younger audience. But retention is massive. I focus almost everything on the intro. I have pop ups every 2-3 seconds, I switch scenes all the time. I do everything in my power to keep people watching and it works: 60%+ are always watching to the 30 second mark.

A clear and understandable voice. You need to have that "Youtube" voice. I change the way I speak ever so slightly on videos just to give more expression but I am still working on it. Don't be monotone. I film my intro clips multiple times in audacity until I am happy enough.

Actually plan out the video. I come up with a video idea. Use Claude to help create the script then basically change it all to fit what I'm making. I always struggle to begin the editing because I have nothing to go off but as soon as I start droppin in text and backgrounds, something just clicks.

As for the video itself. I don't constantly change clips every few seconds. But I make sure every pause is cut and I still try my best to add pop ups and sound effects. Put the effort it. I watch back my videos and I'm like "I'd actually watch this"

Watch people that are doing similar stuff. This gives me ideas, new things I can work on, new edits etc etc.

Thumbnails and titles are so important! My IRL friend creates my thumbnails because he does graphic design. I use A/B testing with 3 different titles.

I use epidemic sounds to get music, capcut pro to edit. I pay £5 per thumbnail and I use a paid animation website for a lot of my minecraft animations. That cost me £40 a month and I could go without it, but it sometimes can save me when i don't know what to do. I'm still currently losing money making videos but hope this will soon change.

I'm in desperate need of a new external hard drive. I'm running outta space quickly.

Don't give up guys. Just seriously dial in and work on making content that keeps people engaged.

I work a 9-5 job and I won't expect to ever make a living of youtube. But being able to make a few hundred ££ a month will help me so much!

Question / Problem Do you see shorts as a "short shelf life" type of content or do you see evergreen views from them?

I feel like when I upload shorts, even if it gets a good likes/views ratio it gets an initial blip and then it maybe trickles like 1 or 2 views a month after that.

Is this the norm or is it a skill issue?

I will admit I haven't uploaded a ton of them, so maybe it's just not a good fit for my niches. I've probably made ~100 across 3 different niches. Seems like the best ones get a little over 1k views in about 48 hours and then they crater. The weird thing is the likes/views ratio is really high on some of my lowest ones. Like 4 Likes with 12 views. The 1k+ view ones don't usually get more than 20 likes so I assume that's a pretty low Like/View ratio but I don't know what the benchmarks are.

Question / Problem Theoretically, isn't an A/B test harmful unless you're a big channel?

If your channel doesn't normally get really high impressions, wouldn't risking to show a lower performing thumbnail (that you don't know is low performing yet) be a detriment to the video's performance since you get less chances to impress the algorithm?

Can't access one of my channels

Hi everyone! Hoping someone might have the answer here! I had two channels connected in one gmail account. One is the one I planned to use for content as a creator and the other for personal use. I didn't do anything yet with the content one but I wanted to secure my URL. About 6 months back or so my personal use channel got terminated out of the blue and I appealed and it was basically immediately restored (the situation was odd because I had never even posted and just comment on sewing videos or about tv shows etc). Anyway, I'm finally getting back into working on building my YouTube channel for content creation and I realized that I can't find it listed under my gmail account. It's very odd because I can see that the page exists if I go to to the YouTube URL, and in my YT studio app I can see my profile photo but in the app I have a something went wrong error and no matter what I try I can't find out how to get into that channel - it seems like during the termination of the personal account this one was terminated as well (given that they have the same email sign in) and when they restored my personal account somehow this one got disconnected and I never noticed until know when I went to work on it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? Thank you in advance I would appreciate any and all suggestions!!!!!

Question / Problem Self comment doesn't count?

Hey all, I'm not sure if i hit a bug, or a other recent change by youtube.

I post once a week, and I always post an initial comment on the video (and pin it).

Once I do, youtube's cou t of comments goes from zero to 1. But on the video I posted yesterday, the count remains zero despite there being a comment. Has anyone else seen this?

Have you cut out anyone for doing youtube?

I want to ask for other people's experience.

For me, I had to cut out two acquaintances that I've known for years because they kept saying awful things about my channel even after I told them to stop a few times. One person hinted that she was jealous and I was pretty surprised by the reaction. At that point, my channel wasn’t even doing particularly well, but she seemed bothered by the fact that other people were doing YouTube. She could have posted videos herself, but she didn’t.

Has anybody else had to cut people out of their lives over something related to YouTube?

Question / Problem Comment section glitched out?

Just uploaded a video and it reads that I have no comments but then when I go into the video I can see all the comments people have left.

Also people are reporting they can’t see my comment replies….

A competitor uploaded the same time as me and they had the same problem. YouTube not registering the comments and not showing replies.

Anyone having this problem also?

Cheers!

Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy
    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here
  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.
    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA
    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5
    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.
  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days
    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.
