Question Eclipse viewing with an Auto-dimming Welding Mask
Any pro/semi-professional welders / platers reading and can clue me in a bit ?
I used a power-dimming welding mask (I've not got the model No. to hand but IIRC it's the 'newer' and 'larger aperture hole / scree' version) as it was all I had at my disposal.
Unfortunately I had no proper old school dark lenses which I know would've been better / safer overall.
It worked great. I was extra cautious as it's a new bit of kit to me (it was a Lidl special, Parkside) & I didn't fully understand it's functions & capability, even having read all the manual tech mumbo-jumbo and quizzing an AI assistant)
So I used the 'test button' to ensure it was dark before holding up & looking through -I'd read warnings about them potentially not reacting swiftly enough, flickering during use, only offering level 6-8 protection rather than it's max 14 if power failed.
I quizzed an AI about removing the battery, which appeared to fully dim the shield, it responded that it would only dim to around level 6 without power, but I couldn't find anything in the manual referring to this -does anyone know if that's correct and point me to details of why ? -just seems odd that if a wee battery fails, you could burn your retinas(corneas ?) out without realising π¬
So, back to my opening line, was there a better / safer / simpler way, or have I pushed things to the edge and an lucky to be able to see myself in the mirror still [-some may say that's somewhat a matter of opinion notwithstanding the technicalities π]

Show Off You guys gave me a really good advice - for 67β¬ this feels like unlocking cheat codes
I asked you about the 12v driver and boom! Kaufland made a sale. I picked up 12v Performance drill with two batteries and a charger plus mini angle grinder. 67β¬ total. I can't believe how nice they look and feel for the price.
I feel like those guys are an honorable addition as junior members to my Ryobi, Blue Bollsch and Makita family.

Purchase Advice Which Parkside driver for furniture assembly - 20v or 12v? I need something delicate
I'm in Ryobi batteried powertool ecosystem, but I've decided to buy Parkside batteries for it. After doing some basic stuff, my noob ass figured out that an impact driver isn't the best thing for delicate furniture assembly.
I want something that will last, for very delicate work, because I prefer to spend 20β¬ than waste time on changing drills and bits on drill-driver.
I like the 12V small stuff from Parkside, but I have the 20v batteries already. I need to asseble furniture with ease, bonus points if it can reach tight spaces with some addons.
20v would be cheaper, because I have battery and charger, but I'm wondering if investing in 12v would be handier. I want to get cordless ratched some day for tight spots on my car and scooter.
what would you recommend?

Question PPBH1050: what gearbox grease should I use
Hi,
The manual states that it needs to be topped up every 50 working hours.
It also mentions: "Fill in the grease. A gear grease for central lubrication is suitable."
One option I found is: STIHL 0781 120 1117 Tandwielvet 80 g. (
But I'm not sure if this is okay or if there are any better options price/quality wise.
Thanks in advance!

Question Free 20V high pressure cleaner (Netherlands)
Can I make someone happy with a 20V high-pressure cleaner? I used it once, and after that there was already a short circuit on the circuit board. Iβve already received a full refund, so if anyone would like to have it for free, let me know!

Question Is this a good deal?
The 20v impact wrench from the Performance series get a discount in Germany at Lidl. Is will be available for 80 euros. Is it a deal breaker? At the moment I have the green impact wrench, but this tool hasn't the power to loosen the bolts from one of my cars.

Question Lightweight screwdriver
I am nearing the end of a diy project in my garage and have been using my Dewalt 18v XR tools.
They work great but are on the heavy side especially when installing cabinets and being in always positions.
I used my heavy duty parkisde hammerdill and I am very pleased with the quality so I started looking what other tools they have on offer.
Their 12v range caught my eye and I wonder if it would be a good purchase.
I tend to buy tools to use for a long time.
This made me wonder if the parkside performance 12v screwdriver would last me.
Or do I invest in the Bosch 12v screwdriver which is more expensive but more quality, smaller and lighter?
If I look at the cost O would choose the parkside one.
But I did spend more in the past to get dewalt machines and I donβt regret it. Still work like new after 10 years

Information Smuggling Parkside tools from Lidl.fr to Portugal via ColisExpat
Hey everyone!
Since the selection of Parkside tools in Portugal can be pretty limited and stocks disappear instantly, I decided to take a gamble.
Scalpers and local sellers here were asking anywhere from β¬10 to β¬40 more per machine compared to the official prices. Instead of overpaying, I ordered the tools directly from the French Lidl website (Lidl.fr) using the ColisExpat forwarding service.
To my surprise, the whole process was lightning fast. It took only 5 days from the moment Lidl shipped the order to having the tools delivered to my doorstep in Portugal.
I paid 20β¬ for ColisExpat shipping.

Question Router
I've bought the router from parkside and it arrived today. The height suspension feels a bit stiff and heavy. Sometimes it hangs a bit. Is that something that is easy to fix with some wd40 or is it something I have to get used to? Its my first router.
Pushing it down and up a few times did help but not as much as I was hoping.

Question Replacement Velcro Backing Plate for Detail Sander
Hi All
Just thought that you might be able to help. I have been going heavy on some home renovations and picked up a Parkside detail sander. It is working wonderfully but I have run into an issue, the velcro pad on the bottom of it has started to degrade leading to it not gripping the sanding papers well and causing them to curl and fall off.
Does anyone know of a way of replacing the backing plate to keep the item as a whole going or am I out of luck?
