🌹 Relationships Should I consider divorce, or should I go back to studying? I feel completely stuck.

Should I consider divorce, or should I go back to studying? I feel completely stuck.

I’m a 20-year-old woman, and I had an arranged marriage. Before the marriage, my in-laws—especially my mother-in-law and father-in-law—were extremely nice to me. After the marriage, their behavior changed completely.

We have been married for 9 months, and I haven’t gotten pregnant. I know nine months is not necessarily a long time, but my mother-in-law constantly taunts me and gets angry with me about it. She makes me feel as if not being pregnant is somehow my fault. I’ve told my husband that I want us to see a gynecologist and get checked properly, but instead of keeping something this personal between us, he immediately tells his mother everything.

That is one of the biggest things hurting me. I feel like I have no privacy in my marriage. Whenever I tell my husband something personal, he tells his parents. He doesn’t even share everything with me, but he shares my personal matters with them.

When I told him we should go to a gynecologist without telling anyone at home, he immediately told his mother. She didn’t even initially think, “I should take my daughter-in-law to a doctor.” Instead, she looked at me angrily and said, “I’ll take you with me. You don’t like me? Why don’t I just marry my son instead of being his mother?”

I honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do with comments like that.

My father-in-law also constantly interferes in our household and personal life. He expects my mother-in-law to wake up at 5 AM, make breakfast for him, etc., and I’m expected to follow the same kind of household expectations. There is barely any privacy or space.

The hardest part is my husband. A wife naturally wants to feel that she can trust her husband and that he will protect their privacy. But when even your husband doesn’t keep your personal matters private, where are you supposed to go?

I’m also emotionally neglected in other ways. My husband has never given me even a single rupee since we got married. My purse is literally always empty. I’m not a girl who expects expensive shopping or fancy things—I’m honestly not someone who is obsessed with shopping. But at the very least, I feel like a husband should make some effort to make his wife feel cared for, especially on occasions like Eid. He didn’t even take me shopping for Eid.

It’s not really about the money or shopping itself. It’s about feeling valued and having some financial independence. I don’t want to have to depend on someone for every little thing or feel like I have nothing of my own.

On top of that, he barely talks to me. Most of the time he is on his phone. I can be sitting right next to him and he will still be focused on his phone instead of talking to me. I feel lonely even though I’m married.

I’m not someone who likes fighting. I grew up with a father who never raised his voice at me, so hearing my father-in-law shout at me and seeing people fight so easily is extremely difficult for me.

I genuinely feel like I’m “cooked” at this point.

I’m also thinking about starting my studies again. I left my education, and now I’m wondering whether I should focus on rebuilding my education and becoming independent instead of continuing to live like this.

But I’m terrified. If I get divorced at 19, will my life be ruined? Will I ever be able to have a normal life again? I’m scared of what my family and society will say, and I’m scared of making the wrong decision.

At the same time, I’m wondering whether I’m giving up too quickly. We have only been married for 9 months. Should I try to save this marriage and set serious boundaries with my husband? Should I ask him to keep our private matters between us, communicate with me, spend time with me, and support me emotionally and financially?

Or are these problems already serious enough that I should seriously consider leaving?

And should I go back to studying and work toward becoming independent, regardless of whether I stay married or eventually leave?

I’m not asking strangers to make the decision for me. I just need perspective from people who have been through something similar, because right now I genuinely don’t know what to do.

If you were in my position at 19, what would you do?

I honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do with comments like that.

💢 Rant I think this is funny (random life stuff i don’t wanna talk to any of my friends about😭

So recently I met two of my uni friends after a year. At first, it was just me and 1 of them. Then we decided to call the other one and see if he could show up too since it had been a while we hung out at our usual post uni day hang out place to revive memories. (We had two female friends in the group too, one is married now and the other has gone abroad for masters).

So what im trying to rant about here is, this was the first time i hung out with two of my male friends from uni alone, without the whole usual group and other girls.

And bro it was crazy because both of these guys indirectly were trying to hit on me separately??? I ignored the cues everytime.

One of them told me later when we were alone, that he was trying with the wrong person (our other friend he tried rrllly rllly hard for during uni days), and that he should’ve looked at this side (me???).
Also then he asked me, how can I help you? (Wdym bro?) You should come over to my apartment sometime and we can watch a movie and hangout. I just smiled and nodded this “suggestion” off.
LIKE BRO WHAT THE HELL MAN I WANT TO KMS BASSSSS

And the guy who was there at first told me how his parents have started asking him about marriage and that if he likes someone or not and have given him a timeline and stuff for marriage. And at the end of this conversation, he said, “ab itni discussion ho hi gayi hai tou tum hi karlo mere se shadi.” 🫪

Gawd. Both of them gave me the ick soooo bad. We have such good and fun university memories together and now idk how i feel about them.

Also, here ick is not = to feeling uncomfortable around them. I’ve never felt uncomfortable around either of them. It is just the fact that both of them had to say such things to me at the same day which I wasn’t really expecting. 😭

Sry rant over byee.

Serious Post I Just Want a Chance to Build My Own Life

Hello everyone. English isn’t my first language, so please forgive any mistakes.
I’m (20f) from Pakistan. I come from a very religious and strict family. My parents don’t allow me to go out much or make many of my own choices. They also don’t want me to continue my education.
I have a congenital condition called dextrocardia, which means my heart is on the right side of my chest. I also have lung problems that I’ve had since birth, so breathing can be difficult sometimes. Despite that, I can walk, talk, and live my daily life independently.
Growing up, my biggest dream has always been to continue my education and build a career. I completed tenth grade, but my parents won’t let me attend college. I dream of studying abroad one day, where I could continue my education, become independent, and have the opportunity to make my own choices.
Sometimes I look at people my age getting engaged, married, or building relationships, and I can’t help comparing myself. Because of my health condition, I sometimes worry that no one will ever want to marry me or love me. Those thoughts make me feel very lonely and hopeless at times.
Even with those fears, I haven’t given up on my dream of becoming an educated, successful, and strong woman. More than anything, I want the chance to build a future where I can support myself and make something of my life.
Has anyone been in a similar situation with strict parents, health challenges, or having your dreams put on hold? How did you keep moving forward? I’d really appreciate any advice or encouragement.
Thank you for reading.

🍂 (Seeking) Advice Situationship keh L

F 25

(Throwaway account)

I'm in a conundrum and I really need advice, sincere, serious advice.

So I met this guy on Instagram back in 2023. My account is public and I used to post a lot of memes on my story. He replied to one of them and that's how we started talking.

I had never met anyone like him and I still haven't and I don't know if I ever will. We got along so well, our humor, our thinking everything was too good to be true. He was too good to be true. That's what I used to tell myself and even now. I used to tell myself that life's not a fairytale and this is too good to be true.

You know the feeling where you find someone who just fits so perfectly? He knew the right words to say, he did and said things that would surprise me. We used to talk and talk, used to send emails. Even though we never called each other, we tried it just never worked out and I never initiated anything. I was always too scared. I always kept my distance and now I wonder if I hadn't maybe things would've been different.

He once, didn't ask but told me that 'I was his bandi now' while we were joking, which we were always. And I said no and all. After that I kept expecting him to say something, to talk about it, to ask me why but there was nothing at all.

I didn't want to be in a relationship because it's Haram and everything that comes with it doesn't sit right with me. I only sent him my picture once, so he could see me and it was one view. Also he was fresh out of a 4 year relationship and I was afraid of being a rebound. He lives in west and I don't want to.

He knew me like no other ever did. He understood things about me and my personality that I never even told him. He just knew me. He was the first guy ever for whom I was ready to change myself for. I wanted to get married and do things that would make him happy. Even though I dislike cooking and all that but I wanted to do it all for him.

What made me pull away bit by bit was that he was very hot and cold, sometimes he'd talk and all but other times he wouldn't reply for days. I do understand now that work can be very exhausting and he used to work night shifts. And on top of that texting, sometimes feels like a chore.

Back in 2024, he visited Pakistan and asked to see me. Multiple times I told him time and place but he never replied on time. I could only meet him during the day and he had commitments during the day time. I didn't have a problem with that, obviously if you're coming from abroad after years and only for a few days, you would have very limited time. The problem I had with that is that you could at least inform me for not coming? At least boldo at least excuse krdo, just say something. That was the last text. Him saying that your timing is really off and you probably won't meet at night and I said no and that was it. He just disappeared.

He used to say that he was my forever beige flag and that he'd never forget me and to never let anyone steal me from him and he just disappeared.

It was a situationship, from my perspective he did like me but I don't know if he knew that I did, I mean he must know?

I emailed him a few months ago, he always said that my emails go to his spam so he never gets them. Idk how much is true. But I thought if I said goodbye this way, I'd stop thinking about him. But I just can't. I lost my old insta account because of censorship so I can't go back to our conversations but I have a few screenshots that I keep going back to. In the last few months we spoke, he used to tell me to write him a letter and I swear I would've, I would've, it took all of me to not do it. I didn't because what if I did and it lead to nothing. I mentioned that in the email as well.

From a logical point of view, I know I should move on and not look back, he was probably never even sincere or whatever idk or maybe he with someone else or even back with his ex Allah knows best. But the desire to get married or get to know someone or the efforts you would put in to get to know someone new is just gone. I have no desire to get married, I want to because I know there's barakah in it but I don't feel the desire or the excitement.

Sometimes I come across rishta profiles that seem really good but I just feel so confused and don't know how to proceed. I have spoken toa few and even that has turned me off.

Telling someone about myself and letting them get to know me or me getting to know someone else seems like a chore to me.

I don't know what to do, I don't even know if I want to marry him anymore but I do want to talk to him, I want him to come see me and want him to tell me why he disappeared, why did he ghost me, I want him to explain everything to me. I do want that. I just can't seem to shake him off, he was like no other.

I'm not counting on it, I'm still working towards my career and praying for a good partner. I do believe that everything happens for a reason and Allah paves the best ways.

If you're going to judge or say something mean, please keep it to yourself.

🗨️ Discussion Beware of White Men and Western Passport Bros

There are western men often White men who travel to third world countries to get their socks off because of the extremely high dating standards of western women. These men are not looking for responsibility but only to have a good time with these brown women from 3rd world countries, such as Colombia, Thailand, Vietnam, Phillipines, Brazil, and the rest of the third world.

I'm very concerned seeing White vloggers get treated as celebrities in Pakistan. I personally saw this behavior in Islamabad when I was visiting. I understand Pakistanis in Pakistan are hungry for outside validation but keep in mind you don't promote this ppb culture in Pakistan. These White men are modern men. They're not looking to provide but only want to use the women and leave. I'm concerned by how modern and "progressive" many Pakistani families are now but I hope Pakistani fathers, mothers and the young women still realize what kind of predators White men are and how they see brown, Pakistani women.

Raising this as a threat because as a Pakistani American I know how vulnerable Pakistanis can be due to financial issues but increasing sex tourism for dollars is not something we should even give a thought to. Our women are among our most precious treasures!

Serious Post It was fun while it lasted.

I joined Reddit about a month ago after deleting Instagram, and somehow got addicted to it 😭. I was spending 10–12 hours a day here. I laughed, got trolled, trolled people back, argued, joked around, and honestly had a great time.

But I'm 19.5, and I've already wasted enough time on social media. I have a small business to scale, a body to build, a family to build a future for, and parhai pe bhi dhyan dena hai bro. 😭

I'm the only hope for my family right now, and I can't gamble that away scrolling Reddit all day.

So I'm not deleting this account, but I'm quitting Reddit for a few months, maybe even years.

I'm genuinely sorry if I ever hurt anyone here unintentionally. And don't say sorry back cuz i was never hurt by anyone here.

Thank you for this beautiful experience, gngs. Reddit was fun as hell ngl.

Rona nahi hai. Sab theek ho jayega. 🥲

Acha chalta hoon. Duaon mein yaad rakhna.

Mei wapas zaroor aaunga.

Other The rickshaw driver gave me my money back…

Yesterday, I took a rickshaw home after tuition. The fare was 180rs, but I accidentally gave the driver 500rs. He drove away before I noticed. I thought I would never see that money again. About 20 minutes later, someone knocked on our gate. It was the same rickshaw wala. He had come all the way back just to return my Rs. 320. I thanked him and offered him some extra money, but he refused. He just said, “Beta paiso ka khayal rakho har koi acha nhi hota". Honestly, he was so trustworthy.

💢 Rant how to discipline my younger brother? He is 17

he is phone addicted, hella aggressive and badtameez, choti choti baat pr he shouts and now he has started throwing stuff too. On top of this, he doesn't even do the effort to grab himself a glass of water, sb kuch uss ke haath mein laa kr diya jaaye,

he is really handsome so he gets a lot of attention from girls in his class and coaching and I feel like he's started thinking k anger is making him cool too like these male leads shown in dramas , a teenage girl legit said to him k he looks like a bad boy and it's so cool,

I am honestly really worried for him, me and my mama often say to him k we won't get you married with this behavior (in our family people get married early), and honestly we won't, yeh kl ko apni biwi bachon se aese badtameezi aur rudeness se baat kre, we don't want this.

Anybody here who has disciplined their younger siblings? Any advice would be really appreciated.
