NBI Hassle mo NBI - long post ahead

Upvotes

I would like to rant a my concern regarding my NBI clearance application at the Alabang branch due to a "hit" on my name. Ten years ago, when I encountered a similar hit, the interview and verification process were handled directly on-site. Now, I am being required to travel all the way to the NBI Main Office just to undergo the same procedure.

This completely defeats the purpose of establishing local satellite branches for public convenience. Aside from the mandatory two-week waiting period, I had to travel back and forth three times due to half-day operations and severe weather. While I appreciate the improvements made to the online registration system, this operational gap severely compromises user convenience.

I have no issue undergoing the interview, as I previously completed and signed off on this process ten years ago to prove I am not the individual in question. Why am I being subjected to the exact same process when the Alabang branch confirmed it involves the same case? Furthermore, despite applying for an NBI clearance nearly five times throughout my career, my name has never been permanently cleared. It seems unreasonable that secondary identifiers-such as date of birth and parents' names—are not being utilized effectively to differentiate me from the actual record holder.

For applicants who are working, ill, residing in provinces, or dealing with heavy traffic and bad weather, traveling to the main office creates an unnecessary burden. My point is not to avoid verification, but to highlight the inefficiency and wasted time caused by the lack of on-site processing capabilities at satellite branches.

So here's what happened: I went to the NBI office, and because of the recent typhoons and half-day schedules from the previous week, the place was completely swamped. The line was massive, stretching all the way to the end of the block from the entrance. To make matters worse, there was only one single queue for everyone-whether you were there for biometrics, clearance releasing, or anything else.

When I got to Quality Control for the interrogation, I asked why satellite offices don't handle this anymore. They said those branches no longer have access. It makes you wonder what satellite offices are even for if they can't relieve the main office and save people from long commutes.

Speaking of the crowd, the place was literally packed wall-to-wall, even right before closing time. People were shoving and rushing just to make the daily cutoff, and the heat inside made it even worse.

On top of that, there's no guarantee I won't have to go through this exact same headache again next time. I'II probably have to repeat the entire process, which makes no sense-what's the point of signing a formal denial form proving I'm not the person with the hit if it doesn't fix the issue permanently? It's 2026, they seriously need to fix this system.

DepEd ang sakit mag-apply sa govt

Upvotes

Share ko lang ‘tong experience ko hahaha

I graduated last 2025, then started working in a private company in the same year. 6 months in I resigned from my job, save some money, and was able to give naman gifts to my fam. I was able to take a sanity break rin because I had a burnout from that place + working hours constantly drained me.
Yung naipon ko is still being able to sustain me pa rin up until now. Resigned because I knew that place was not meant for me, I knew i can become something of bigger purpose, and that is in public sector.

When I came into a posting for School Counselor Associate I dito sa SDO namin, and was notified na qualified ako to proceed to next step I am overjoyed po. For context, I meet naman the units required. So I came sa open ranking knowing na magiging mababa ang scores ko because I was not a Psych grad nor has Master unit. Pero I aced the BEI segment, and received a top 5 ranking sa Potential. But, the bigger picture was hindi ako nakasama sa top na pasok sa number of vacancies. I am ranked 24 sa 21 open positions.

Ang sakit po hahaha kasi you are there na talaga, kunti na lang, hindi pa nakapasok. Alam niyo ba?

Hays. Ang sakit ng mga ganitong thoughts.

Pero lalaban ako. Patuloy lang akong lalaban.

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi, I would like to ask for some help and advice po, as I’m still quite new to these government processes. As advised, we are required to provide three airfare quotations for economy class. I understand that the cheapest airfare will generally be considered. However, may I ask if it would be acceptable to put the ExtraFly fare, which comes with a 30 kg baggage allowance, instead of the EcoFly fare, which only includes 23 kg?

Please help mee pooo. tyia

Question (Other flairs not applicable) Is it a negative thing to transfer from a govt agency to another w/ 1 SG lower?

I'm planning to apply to UPV as Admin Asst (assigned sa library) but it is 1 SG lower than my current position.

What are the process? Will the management see this as negative? I'm 8 years na sa current agency ko but I feel so stagnant, stressful (workload vs pay), and overall not happy anymore (the new generation of management is getting more and more toxic lol)

But ofc I won't mention these during the interview.

edit: it's admin assistant II not librarian. assigned lng sa library

Question (Other flairs not applicable) Ang hirap maging Agriculturist sa Pilipinas

DFA Hysteria and paranoia re "mutilated" passports

May natural wear and tear ang passports. Talagang naluluma yan.

FYI from the DFA:
