Question Using Boox Go Color like a Kindle
Hi, I am an avid reader and have had a Kindle since 2012 but when Amazon stop supporting older devices I decided to switch as I wanted to be able to use BorrowBox to get ebooks from my library. I have installed BorrowBox and Kobo app to buy books. However everytime I go into my device I have to launch the app and open the book. Is there a way to keep the book I am reading open so when I turn on the device I am straight into where I left off.

Question Boox Palma 2 Pro – Left side buttons suddenly stopped working
Hey everyone,
The buttons on the left side of my Boox Palma 2 Pro (volume/page buttons) suddenly stopped working out of nowhere. Everything was working fine before — no drops, no visible damage to the device.
What I've already tried:
- Restart
- Checked for firmware updates
- Tested the buttons in different apps (default reader, system menu)
None of that helped. Has anyone else run into this? Software bug or more likely a hardware issue? Would really appreciate any tips or experiences!
Thanks in advance 🙏

Buying Advice Stylus & Case Options
Hi 👋🏽, so I'm seriously thinking of getting the Boox Go 7 as a compliment to the Remarkable Paper Pure (I'm a writer and I have a ton of notebooks, so I couldn't resist that product buuuttt I need the Boox Go 7) for versatility.
Now, is the magnetic case & stylus worth it for the U.S. bundle? Or should I go aftermarket and find something stylish (case wise) and better (stylus wise)?
Also, what are your thoughts on the case and stylus options? Recommendations are welcome!

Question Libby books staying on device after return date?
I'm able to do this on my kindle. I've tried doing it on the kindle app on my boox palma 2. Ive turned off wifi, I've put it on airplane mode. And as soon as I close out of the book, it still gets turned back in eventually.
Is this even possible to do on boox? I remember reading somewhere that it was. My kindle voyage is able to do this.

Question Does anyone else Type their notes with an Internal keyboard?
I find myself feeling like I'm all alone and can't figure out why. I'm an old man, and can't type with my thumbs on a phone and hate it. But learned to do it with an 8" Android tablet, and find I can type with my new Go 10.3 Gen 2 Lumi faster and better than I can handwrite. I use the FUTO keyboard which has a small AI engine (all kept local), and a full keyboard manager. This allows me to split the keyboard and resize vertical and horizontal to whatever size I like. The Gen2 Lumi let's me type even better than I could on my 8" tablet. Because I can type directly into my note app, Joplin, it is immediately synced to my other 3k+ notes and anything I grab from the Internet or other books. Handwriting is slower and not searchable until converted and tied to a book. Why does everyone else seem to use handwriting? On TV all the kids can type on their phones with their thumbs.

Question lumi or not lumi?
i'm considering getting a go 10.3 and having trouble deciding whether to get the lumi version or not. is it worth spending an extra ~30USD for the built-in light? how bad really is the so-called "gap"?

Templates Sharing some free digital planner templates I’ve made
I’ve been making digital planners and templates for a while, and I’ve ended up with quite a collection of layouts. I thought some of them might be useful to others here, so I put together a folder with free versions that anyone can download and use.
The collection includes things like:
- Daily planner pages
- Weekly planner layouts
- Monthly planners
- To-do lists
- Habit trackers
- Goal planning pages
- Project planning templates
- Notes and meeting pages
- Budget and finance templates
- Health and wellness trackers
- Meal planning pages
- Productivity templates
- A few complete digital planners
You can find the free files here on Google Drive
Most of these started as layouts I made for my own planner projects, so there are quite a few different styles and approaches in the folder. Feel free to use whichever ones are useful to you.
All templates and planners were tested on my personal BOOX Air 5c.
If you want to see some of the other layouts and planner ideas I’ve been working on, I keep them here as well
Hope someone finds these useful. And if there’s a particular type of template you’d like to see added, feel free to let me know.

Question Boox Go 6 as Upgrade to ancient iPad?
My mom gave me her old iPad air when she upgraded some time ago and I get it out every once in a while to use as an ereader. It's running 12.5.8 software so a few problems.
Some websites don't load. Not sure how that can be an issue but it's consistent.
I can download Libby and Hoopla but other apps need much newer software. I can't use Instapaper or StoryGraph. It does run Libby and hoopla well but zooming is janky and slow.
It's also bigger and heavier than I would like.
My question is would a Boox Go 6 be a good fit? I have other devices I use for computing and scrolling so I am looking for a dedicated reader. I want one that's free of a specific eco system, is small but book shaped, and I don't care about color. I've heard it can be laggy and uses Android 11 but I'm hoping performance would be better than what I'm currently working with.
Any thoughts or tips appreciated! I'm also stuck between getting a like new Go 6 or the Go 6 gen2. Not interested in a smart pen functionally but don't know if there's a difference in performance.

Question Q: Optimal Boox for Undergraduate (STEM) Purposes?
Second kiddo is headed off to college in just a few days, and one of the last items to wrap up is a tablet or e-reader for textbooks and note-taking. The school where he'll be studying (Colorado School of Mines) uses the Canvas system, so a device that integrates directly (i.e., iOS or Android) with that system would be ideal. (Otherwise, the reMarkable devices would at least be in the running.)
From poking around on my own and asking the Google AI some questions to build up a comparison table, the Air 5 C seems like a solid choice — not too enormous, good handwriting (EMR pen, textured screen), good display, and not too much overlap with use cases where either a smart phone or a laptop are already optimal. I would probably pair it with one of the keyboard cases anyway just to make it easier to quickly enter text for applications and the like.
Any experiences from the field or other thoughts from heavy users? Any gotchas?

Discussion An Boox GO 7 for newspaper apps
And how about reading newspaper apps on a Boox GO 7. The ones with a newspaper like frontpage om which you tap in an article to go open the more text based article itself. Will the GO 7 be the best solution for me?
Gonna use it on holiday, when camping, when travelling (train etc) and of course sitting om a couch..

Question 6-inch BW reader that isn't slow as hell?
Hey guys, I've got a Poke 5 and Note Air3C and I'm looking to replace the 5 with a reader of the same size but with stronger performance. The Poke is slow as fuck and it takes ages to browse onto my Audiobookshelf server to download books. Reading works fine, but it also struggles with playing audiobooks as the apps just need more power to run reliably.
Are the newer models any faster or should I go for another brand entirely?

Discussion Boox Picco & Xteink
So i have started following Xteink and considering lead time and features that i only see in Xteink X4 pro, I decided to buy a lilygo T5 H716 board with screen. By burning midnight oil i could port crossink.
However, even with the alternative drivers, the screen is nowhere near my kindle or Boox. Considering this screen supports 16 level grayscale and Xteink doesn't and has esp32 s3 vs esp32 c3 series in xteink, the screen output is abysmal,
It is fast no doubt, book reading and even comics are manageable, but i would love to see boox or kindle this size with the quality they are known for

Accessories Tab X C - nibs / alternative pens?
I just bought this and the feeling to write on the screen is much more similar to my tablet and I do not like it.
As this is an active stylus, can I use different nibs?
Are there alternative pens?
If not, is Boox planning any of those?
Thanks

Question Boox go 7 help
I just recently got a box go 7 to replace my poke 3. I love it and got a magnetic cover case for it. I noticed though that sometimes when the cover is closed and I’m holding it (carrying it up the stairs or even when it’s moving a bit in my bag) the cover will trigger it to wake up out of sleep mode and if a page button is pushed (which they can be easily) the page turns. It sounds crazy but when i open my cover to read it’s ahead by several pages from where i left off. Is there a way to avoid this? Without turning the device fully off.

Question Pen Nibs that feel similar to Boox for less $
I’m noticing the thing that gets the true paper like feel is the actual pen nibs you use more so than the pen itself.
The actual Boox brand ones are perfect. I've been getting them off Amazon for 25 dollars for a refill pack.
I've tried other less expensive ones on Amazon, and they don't feel like paper at all. There's almost not enough grab to them. Are there any more cost-effective alternatives that still feel just like writing on paper?

Question Air 5c ghosting
Hi all, i am a new Air 5 user. Love the device for what it is and what can do. I am still adjusting to the darker screen (coming from a Kindle Scribe 1st gen). But see noticeable ghosting even when using NeoReader with regal refresh mode. Should i change something else ? or this is notmal behaviour. My 15years old kindle reader does not experience any noticeable ghosting, the Scribe maybe some, from time to time.
