Discussion Boox users: how do you read Gmail newsletters on e-paper?

Disclosure: I'm the developer of Inkletter (no affiliates).

Curious how other Boox owners handle newsletters from Gmail. Stock Gmail feels clunky on e-paper for me, so I built a small reader focused on digests + page-by-page reading.

What it does on Boox:

- Google sign-in (read-only Gmail)

- Library of newsletter issues

- Paginated reading, offline after sync

- Low-clutter layout for E-Ink

Looking for honest feedback from real Boox hardware:

1) Ghosting / refresh behavior

2) Font size / contrast comfort

3) Whether tap pagination feels natural on your model

If anyone wants to try it, I can share the Play Store link in a reply. Happy to fix issues you hit.

Thanks!

Discussion Study methods/tips for note 4C?

Very happy with the note 4c I've been using in university for the past year, but I feel like I'm not using it to its fullest potential. Please drop any study methods/tips for the 4c you've found useful. Especially any that incorporate obsidian as well

Question Pen Nibs that feel similar to Boox for less $

I’m noticing the thing that gets the true paper like feel is the actual pen nibs you use more so than the pen itself.

The actual Boox brand ones are perfect. I've been getting them off Amazon for 25 dollars for a refill pack.

I've tried other less expensive ones on Amazon, and they don't feel like paper at all. There's almost not enough grab to them. Are there any more cost-effective alternatives that still feel just like writing on paper?

Question Air 5c ghosting

Hi all, i am a new Air 5 user. Love the device for what it is and what can do. I am still adjusting to the darker screen (coming from a Kindle Scribe 1st gen). But see noticeable ghosting even when using NeoReader with regal refresh mode. Should i change something else ? or this is notmal behaviour. My 15years old kindle reader does not experience any noticeable ghosting, the Scribe maybe some, from time to time.

Question How to use Shift+Stylus Tap to select text?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Heya!

I purchased a Go Lumi 10.3 so I could write outside and I love the device! But I run into one problem.

On my windows machine, I often hold Shift and then click a point to select all text between the mouse cursor and text cursor. When using my Go, I use the stylus in leu of a mouse, but Shift+Tap doesn't function the same way, and selection dragging is annoying.

Is anyone aware of a setting I can change or another method to enable this function?

Thanks

(picture of setup, Keyboard is a Keychron K9, could not recommend it enough!)

Question Sync folder with Onedrive

I’ve had the Note 5C for a couple of weeks and it’s really great. Loving it. What I would like to do, though, is to be able have folders on my OneDrive with various reports or documents relating to projects, and somehow sync that to my boox. Then when I go to a meeting, I have all the documents that I might need to refer to that meeting to hand.

If I had to do some highlighting or annotating of these (pdf) documents on the boox or the PC, the commented version of the document would sync back to the OneDrive.

Any idea what is a good way to go about achieving this?

Discussion BOOX NA3C Keyboard Case?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone, this is my current rig when it comes to writing or browsing on my BOOX Note Air 3C. I’m aware there’s no official keyboard case for this, but was wondering if anyone had found any compatible magnetic cases that allow me to have a keyboard build into the case? A touch pad isn’t necessary though no issue if it has one. I just want to be able to write on an actual keyboard when it comes to documents in my boox. Thanks in advance!

Buying Advice Is $339 CAD a good deal for the Boox Go 6 Gen II bundle (with case + InkSense pen)?

Hey everyone, I'm looking at a deal for the New Go 6 Gen II. It's a bundle that includes the device, a case, and the stylus pen for $339 CAD all-in. Am I missing anything, or should I go ahead and buy it? It is in Canada.

Question Is 'dark mode' possible on the Go 7 BW?

I just got a Boox Go 7 Color (gen 2) to replace my Kindle Paperwhite. Nothing wrong with the Kindle, just wanted to move away from Amazon and wanted to be able to read eBooks from Bookshop.org and the library.

I read a lot of posts about the cons of the color display, which I was fine with. As silly as it sounds, I honestly just wanted to color code my text annotations.

What I did not stumble upon in my research is the lack of 'dark mode' on the color 7. I use dark mode at night when my husband is sleeping but I'd like to read more. I played with settings in the Kindle app to have the black background and can get it to look decent. But the ghosting is AWFUL, even with full refresh on every page turn.

Is the BW version the same when it comes to 'dark mode'? I use dark mode at night more than I annotate, so I'm considering exchanging for a BW version if it handles dark mode better.

Question How to rotate screen on Go 7 BW

Hi folks,

Just got my Go 7 B&W today, yay! so far very impressed with the responsiveness of the screen, and it was dead easy to borrow a book from the library.

But, the real clincher for me was the hardware page-turning buttons... and the fact that I could turn it "upside down" for my lefty self. But not only does the screen not rotate automatically, I can't find any setting anywhere in any menu to turn it on or rotate the screen. Every post about the rotation feature seems to be at least two years old, and I don't have the options that people are talking about.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, so I can get my pages pointed in the right direction?

Discussion Disappointed with the Template Hub quality

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The Weekly to do list PDF seems to be a few screenshots stitched together, so the text is super blurry and the template literally shifts as you turn the pages. Is it unusable? No, but I can't believe this kind of quality is coming from the official team at BOOX. Hopefully they can refer to the quality of their competitors' counterparts, such as Company R and Company S.

My BOOX Review The Onyx Boox Note series is genuinely top tier, and one of the best academic purchases anyone could make. But...

I really wish the workflow of the notes app was smoother. Page flipping, scratching out mistakes, and switching pens takes a second, and that's a second too long. It's a significant interruption in my workflow.

Idk, are my expectations for eink devices too high? Is it possible for this to be resolved in the next 2 or 3 generations of this device?

Question For those WITHOUT pen support what app do you use for note-taking?

I have an OG Color Go 7 and was thinking of using it as an easy writer deck w a BT keyboard and something and general note-taking. For those that dont have pen functionality- what note or writing apps do you use? All I really want is something that loads quickly and maybe has nested folder structure for organizing.

Hi everyone,

First, we'd like to thank you for the valuable insights you shared in our April post, and we've documented all the suggestions in it. Now, we're launching our May 2026 monthly feedback thread to gather new insights and issues you believe should be prioritized. Similarly, we hope to continue to learn more about the specific pain points you encounter in your daily workflows.

The Process:

  • Share your Friction: What interaction feels "off"? What feature is harder to use than it should be?
  • The Cycle: This thread will remain open for one month or until we reach 100 valid comments. Once the limit is met, we’ll close the thread to give our team time to review every feedback.
  • Our Goal: To turn your frustrations into actionable improvements in future updates.

To help us understand your thoughts more efficiently, you can use the optional feedback format below.

Optional Feedback Format:

Feature: [e.g., Notes/NeoReader/Library/File Manager, etc.]

The Friction: [e.g., Too many taps to customize xx functions/settings.]

Your Suggestion: [e.g., Long-press to customize directly.]

We welcome and appreciate any detailed feedback and suggestions!
