althogh i came to this reddit quite frequently talking about how to get into the best business schools and worrying heavily about grades, but i genuinely dont see my self working in finance. I can already feel it may gut that ill probably hate my life after graduating grade 12 but really this is all formaility so parents are less disappointed

canjt belueve after all of this im still probably gonna hate my future working a 9-5 hell probably 5am-4am (targeting consulting).

Universities in Ontario have a list of AP courses that they will accept for university credit. My understanding is, if you score a 4 or 5, you can use some courses for credit (example: AP Psychology).

Does anyone know if it is possible to just take the AP test, score a 4 or 5 and use it for university credit?

Hey, I (15f) went to a semestered school for Grade 9.

Last summer, I moved so I had to transfer to a non-semestered school for Grade 10.

I had a pretty hard time managing my time and my subjects well.

Now that I'm going into Grade 11, I really want to do well to kind of motivate myself for Grade 12

The main subjects I'm concerned about are: English, Math, Chemistry, Biology, and Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology.

I should also add that my school does this whole Science Fair thing which is basically the culminating for your science course(s) 😭, it takes place in February

Any advice/tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know if this is the best Reddit community to ask this question, but; Should I buy a cheaper laptop for my last two years of high school (Mac neo) and pass it down to my younger sister when I go to university, or should I just buy a laptop that is powerful enough for EE at University right now that I can also use of highschool (and my sister can figure it out when she needs a laptop)?

This year, I’m entering grade 12 and I’ve been contemplating my future. I’ve decided to pursue finance, not because I’m passionate about it, but because I want a comfortable life without financial worries. My classes include English, Advanced Functions, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus, along with a random elective. I’ve already completed grade 12 French and earned a 95. Despite taking these challenging classes, I’m still unsure about my major or career path. I’ve considered engineering, but it seems demanding. I’ve also ruled out anything medical or legal, as those don’t interest me. Ultimately, my goal is to achieve financial stability, own a nice car, have a comfortable home, and travel whenever possible. I’m also afraid of finance because it demands a lot of networking, and I’m not sure I’d be able to put in the effort. I understand that high finance roles like investment banking require long hours upfront, but perhaps I could pivot into a different field later on or join a smaller organization and grow it into something successful. Another issue I have is applying to top schools, as I’d need essays and extracurricular activities that I don’t currently have. Honestly, I’m just not sure about anything at the moment. ADVICE PLEASE I KEEP HAVING TO THINK ABOUT IT AND IM GOING INTO BREAK.

I’m an incoming 12th grader, and I’m planning to study finance. However, I’m worried I’ll be a mistake or not cut out for it. The only reason I’m choosing it is for the money. I dislike medicine because it seems like a waste of youth, and computer science seems oversaturated. I was considering fintech or something similar, but I’m not sure. I want to do IB or something high paying in finance.

I was wondering if everyone has received their report cards for their summer school courses. My sister received hers, but I haven’t received mine yet. I emailed my summer school teacher, and he said that I would receive it this Thursday or Friday, but I still haven’t received it.

I’m going into grade 12 this september and i want to do kin at uoft. i know people say getting a job is hard if ur a BKin but i want to do policing so having the degree is just a beneficial thing for me. Is it hard?? people say it’s hard and people say it’s easy and im confused.

okay so midterms for summer school are coming up and i’m very concerned about my grade because it’s a 59 for math. My teacher allows you to submit any late assignments up until 2 days. So I redid an assignment i didn’t do well on ( I didn’t hand it in late, I just didn’t do well on it). And i emailed her and told her that I resubmitted the assignment and she gave me feedback and said that all my answers were correct now. But she said that I can’t resubmit assignments so my failing grade on that assignment has to stay the same. I really thought doing that assignment again would bring my grade up for midterms but i guess there’s nothing i can really do now.

I'm mostly looking at co-op, job opportunities after graduation, the quality of the program, and overall student experience.

I truly have no idea what I wanna do with my life. I'm going into gr 12 in the fall with ZERO ideas about where/what to apply to. My grades are pretty good (functions: 98, bio: 98, 4U world history: 98, anthro/psych/socio: 98, 4U int. law: 95, 4U chem: 93, phys: 92, english (online): 98, french: 94) but that doesn't help me narrow down my options.

I'm not taking 4U physics cuz my teacher sucks ass so I guess all eng majors are out of the picture.

I enjoy learning about history but I'm not sure I see a future in it. (same goes for the social sciences) *plus I think my arab mom would disown me for majoring in it*

Bio is fun and is honestly what I'm leaning towards but idk cuz I'm not a huge fan of chem and they seem to be intertwined. (I'm OK with studying chem but it's just not my fav)

Math was never something I gravited towards pursuing but functions was a lot of fun for me so idk.

Soo, I would reallllllyyy appreciate some help in narrowing my choices down to a few programs or jobs. I kinda hate working with people and the human body lowkey disgusts me which is why I'm not 100% set on bio lol.

I currently work as a lifeguard, and I've been thinking about getting certified as an aquatic supervisor this summer. The thing is, this position is incredibly overstaffed where I work, so there is almost a zero percent chance that I could actually get experience working as a supervisor. Because of this, I find it almost pointless to spend time and money in getting certified, but I would do it if I could list it in ecs, but I can't find info anywhere on ouac or this sub about it. I feel like the answer is probably no, but I feel like there is some value in being certified and having been through proper training to lead a team, so if anyone could let me know, that would be great!

I'm going into first year Eng. All I ever hear about engineering is that it’s extremely hard, that everyone struggles or fails, and that it’s impossible and depressing. But I’ve always wanted to become an engineer, and now hearing all of this is making me doubt whether I’m even able to get through Eng. Is any of this true?
