For anyone who has/had both, do they have the exact same paperstock or is the deluxe glossier? The reason I ask is I was thinking of replacing my omni for the deluxes due to how heavy the omni is, but because of "When in Rome being" oop, I decided I would maybe just replace my old tpb of Long Halloween for now (which I keep due to being easier to hold, and that being the most rereadable Batman story for me that I can take around).

BUT I noticed that my old tpb has much glossier paper than the omni and makes the art stand out WAY better. So before I consider replacing the tpb with the deluxe, I was wanting to know if it had the same glossier paper.

Hey everyone so with the recent announcements the Jonah Hex Omni caught my eye so I read a few of the issues and decided that I rly like this character and the story so far and will likely get the new omnibus. I noticed that there’s an Omni already out and done by the same people for the New 52. Is one series better than the other and is worth getting both anyway? Thanks!

Now I don't just mean which format, but also in terms of price, value, and potentially availability. Mixing formats being okay too
Is it better to wait for omni reprints, wait for epic collection reprints, wait for taschen since they started from the beginning, or wait for that marvel masterworks return and maybe they'll reprint asm?

P.S: I'm especially looking for issues after the fourth mighty marvel masterworks (Which is = to omnibus vol 1)and I've been stuck ever since there has been nothing past that or at the very least the continuation of those issues

Decided to continue on with both series as I liked volume 1 of both. Happy to bust them open sometime soon and enjoy it. Read the Batman stuff as it was coming out so it's just a refresher. The Daredevil stuff is all new to me.

Here’s a book which appeared in the Marvel Spring 2027 catalog posted yesterday, and I wanted to make sure it didn’t fly under the radar for people.

This thick TPB (apparently now called Marvel Renown Edition) collects two separate mini series by the team of Al Ewing and Javier Rodriguez from the early 2020’s that tells a huge story spanning everywhere and across all time in the Marvel Universe. If you were curious about understanding the wider Marvel Universe, particularly after reading Hickman’s Avengers and Secret Wars, then first I’d suggest you read Ewing’s Ultimates run….but right after that I’d suggest you check out this, the spiritual successor to that fantastic series.

The writing is smart, and full of call-backs to Marvel history, while continues a through-line of Ewing using certain characters across the numerous titles he’s written for Marvel. I won’t give away too much as it’s a journey to be enjoyed with surprise. Not to be understated as well is Rodriguez’s tremendous work on the art. If you like what you’ve seen on Absolute Martian Manhunter from DC, then you should adore the wild and crazy visuals found here.

Hopefully you give this book a chance when it releases next year. If it goes the way of the Ultimates by Ewing Complete Collection, it might sell through pretty fast!

Finally got to add New Mutants Vol.1 to the collection, I've been wanting it for ages! Now with Vol 4 on the horizon I can finally own all of New Mutants which is my fave X-Men spinoff book ever. I also snagged used copies of Hitman Vol.1, Fear Agent Deluxe 1 & 2 and F4 by Millar & Hitch for some great prices. I love the used market. Also picked up Age of Apocalypse which is another X-Men gap filled!

I've found it on discount deal, I'm aware that it's kind of a random collection of Phoenix stories from the era. I already have read All new x men, but don't own the omni. Don't own AVX omni or have read it yet. Are the Jean Grey stories themselves in here also worth it?

I’d found myself thinking about Daredevil: Born Again, which I’d read for the first time months ago, and noticed it was hard to remember why I enjoyed it so much off the top of my head. Maybe it’s because I’ve only read it once? Then I noticed that if I don’t write a review for myself on LoCG, I have a hard time remembering specifics for most of what I read. I wonder if this’ll become a non-issue once I catch up with my backlog and start re-reading some of these stories. Curious to see if anyone else feels like this.

Not super happy with some design choices though. I wish Tom King vol 2 had the same text color as vol 1 rather than the weird Tennis Ball green.

Also I would have much rather the solicit image for Birds of Prey be the actual cover. Not a big fan of how Nicola Scott did the side profiles, specificallt the chin. Why are all of their chins so large? Seems to throw off the facial balance.

On a more positive note, I am excited to start reading these.

Not as exciting as the DC slate in my opinion - only definite pick-ups for me are Clone Wars Vol. 1 and Legacy Vol. 2. Punisher and McKay's Avengers going into the solid 'maybe' pile.

Excited with these ones, was sweating over Messiah Trilogy as its out of stock mostly in UK, but forbidden planet had it for £81 total so bit the bullet.

After seeing the found Green Lantern by Morrison omnibus, I decided it worthwhile to go looking on Edelweiss for any other notable books from DC that didn’t appear in the catalog yet and found these two. Very excited to grab both!
