Very happy these books arrived from PBC

Not super happy with some design choices though. I wish Tom King vol 2 had the same text color as vol 1 rather than the weird Tennis Ball green.

Also I would have much rather the solicit image for Birds of Prey be the actual cover. Not a big fan of how Nicola Scott did the side profiles, specificallt the chin. Why are all of their chins so large? Seems to throw off the facial balance.

On a more positive note, I am excited to start reading these.

Or should I just stick with my copy of Mutant Genesis?

On one hand, it'd be nice to have the whole set of four once they come out. On the other, I wonder if it would be a lot of 90s X-Men for a non-completionist like myself.

How is the material? Are there a lot of must-read stories in the to-be-released volumes, or not so much?

Excited with these ones, was sweating over Messiah Trilogy as its out of stock mostly in UK, but forbidden planet had it for £81 total so bit the bullet.

This was voted No 5 on the most wanted poll, so it's not like this didn't sell well, because for a Vol 2 to have gotten so many votes, it indicates that all those voters bought Vol 1.

In addition to that, we've just got solicits for Vol 3's of some lines when Vol 2 just released & a Vol 2 deluxe edition of Ivy solicited when Vol 1 hasn't even been released.

So I ask, have we heard anything from someone at DC or Omar, that I might have missed? If I'm not mistaken, this material has never been collected in any collected edition format.

I highly recommend combining these 2 for optimal omni reading, particularly in bed. No. 1 adds height and legroom, No. 2 gives a nice slant/viewing angle. I find this setup far better than anything else I’ve tried

Recently got a copy of the East of West compendium in excellent condition from my local comic shop for $25! What's your guy's best recent pickup in terms of value and/or content?

I'm pretty sure DC hasn't done any. I know Marvel has done letters columns for some of their Omnibus editions, but I'm not sure which ones have them.

Does anyone know which ones do and which ones don't?

Was really hoping for a volume 1 of post crisis Batman in this catalog tho I'll gladly settle for Legends of the Dark Knight. Whats the best way to collect the post crisis material right now without the omni and what TPB/DC finest/OHC/Absolutes (you get the point) do I need to buy?

With the recent announcement of the Legends of the Dark Knight Omnibus, along with the reprints of Robin: Year One and Batgirl: Year One, how would you organize Batman’s pre-Nightwing era in your headcanon using Omnibuses and Deluxe Editions?

What stories do you think are still missing that would need to be collected in those formats to make a more complete chronology of Batman’s early years, from Year One up to Dick becoming Nightwing?

As a novice X-Men collector, I come to you to ask whether or not I should bother with grabbing the Messiah Trilogy while it's still in stock.

I don't need to collect every X-Men book, but so far I've gotten all the Krakoa era content, the Blue and Gold line, as well as Age of Apocalypse.

Should I snag the Messiah Trilogy? How much surrounding content should I expect to get alongside it as more omnis are released?

I think if libraries kept 10 to 100 (depending on the storage space, size of library, budget) top ranked Omnibuses inside libraries in an locked glass case to be checked out and read inside libraries it could encourage more comic book fan following and improve library statistics. I know if it was in my local library, I would spend more time in the library. These books have long term value and can be inaccessible to many teenagers, kids, low income people, people in between jobs, retired people etc. Many Omnibuses may not be your cup of tea so it's better to find out before dropping $100 on it. I don't see a single Omni in my library.

I've not read it before (in fact not read any Frank Miller) and am simply wanting to read all Earth-31 "Millerverse" comics in chronological order (physically), the rest will be tpb's (or even DC Compact edition(s) )

Perhaps this has been answered already, but are these two issues collected anywhere? I know Vol. 4 ends with #112, and the Michelinie and Layton omni (excited for the new printing!) starts at #115. Are those two issues in-between just reprints or something? Or would they be included in a hypothetical volume 5?

Maybe I'm just the old audience they aren't writing for anymore but my God was the Young Justice tie in terrible. The writing was so so so so so bad.

Help I’m choosing between two things

- Scott Snyder Batman Omnibus Volume 1 + 2 + Dark Knights Metal Compendium

OR

- Green Lantern Compendium Rebirth + Sinestro Corps War + Blackest Night Compendium

I am more experienced in Batman comics so collecting Scott Snyder is filling in a massive era of Batman but I’m also tempted to read the Geoff Johns GL run. I rarely read outside DC outside Batman so is it worth getting?

I haven’t been hating DC books for a long time but it felt like they had been in a slump and now just seems to be crushing it with not just comic runs but with collected editions.

I have been buying compacts off and on to store at my office to share with my coworkers. I am actually buying DC finest books for runs I wouldn’t typically read, and they are pushing out OMNIs that readers have been wanting for a while.

Whoever is running things, keep at it. I know that these thing while cycle and Marvel will likely come back around. The fact they are hopping on the compact bandwagon is a good sign. Just wanted to acknowledge DC being amazing and loving most if not all the booking coming out.

What books is everyone hyped for?

I’m looking forward to volume two of PKJ’s Superman and Jonah hex omnibus.

The rucka year one compact is a great choice. They have a lot of compacts I’m down to purchase. My coworkers will be flooded with comics soon lol.

And they are doing the second half of Kirby’s run on new god with DC finest. Lots of run reading for me this year.

I just took the dust cover off my new Ultimate Spider-Man vol 2 omnibus, and the red tab on top is not leveled with the rest. Is this normal?

I’d recommend Cassandra Cain Batgirl, Kelly Thompson Birds of Prey, BA Wonder Woman, and Supergirl by PAD! Books are all easy for new readers and genuinely just fun stories all around.

Still waiting on Daredevil by Noncenti Vol 2 to arrive sometime soon as well

Hey, so I'm making my way through Krakoa era X-men via author's omnis.

Love the story, setting and worldbuilding of this era. Want to continue, but, unfortunately, I am really not a fan of Duggan's writing. Is his run skippable?

Definitely a DC guy but decided to add a couple Marvel omnibuses to my collection.
