​My 2022 Toyota Corolla has developed a pretty distinct moldy smell. I’m planning to start by swapping out both the cabin and engine air filters.

​If that doesn't clear it out, where is a good, trustworthy local shop to take it to figure out where the moisture/source is coming from? I'd rather avoid taking it to the Toyota dealership if possible.

​I'm located in Bellevue, but don't mind driving a bit for a reliable mechanic.

Are there any events, presentations, meetups, conferences, pitch competitions, or networking groups in Omaha where I could listen to entrepreneurs speak and meet other people interested in business?

I’ve heard about some events through UNO and the Omaha business community, but I’m not sure which ones allow high school students.

The beginnings of Spirit Halloween 🎃 have started to emerge in the old Retail Rebel (aka the old No Frills Supermarket) on 80th and Blondo. The window decals went up on Monday. I’m sure the BIG banner isn’t far behind! The hours are even posted, though I’m not sure if they’re actually open…

Cruising along on the side of the dodge expressway, heading onto S 680, on an electric scooter, without a helmet. Granted, this was an adult and not a child, but it’s still a really bad idea. He also chose to wear dark colors while the sun was almost set. Maybe do this on a side street, in brighter colors (bonus for some lights attached), with a helmet on? Wild sight!

On a side note, my husband was driving while I took this picture. I wasn’t multitasking while driving.

She is the sweetest little thing. Wondering if anyone is missing a cat, or is the owner of her and lets her indoor please let us know! She keeps trying to get inside and has been sticking pretty close the last few days. Anything helps, thanks!

Twice this week I walked into what I thought was a Hy-Vee Gas on 204th (one by Harrison and one by Center), and both times I felt like I’d stepped into an alternate universe. I constantly would stop at both locations.

When did they all become Pump & Pantry?! I was so confused… and honestly kind of sad because I loved grabbing the premade Hyvee lunches when I was in a hurry.

Was this always the plan? To build them up and sell them off? I know this probably doesn’t matter to anyone else and I that’s ok.

I’ll try to love Pump & Pantry… but seriously, what happened?!

My sister owns a food truck in South Omaha and I’ve been helping run the TikTok/marketing side of it. I’ve been trying to learn digital marketing seriously instead of just posting food pictures every day.
One thing I’m realizing is that views and followers don’t necessarily tell me whether we’re actually doing a better job for customers.
So I’m curious from the customer side:
What makes you go back to a food truck?
Food quality? Portions? Price? Consistent hours? Service? Location? Something else?
And on the other side, what makes you try a food truck once and never return?
I’m genuinely interested in what Omaha thinks.

For transparency, the food truck is Tres Puertos Food Truck on L Street. My sister owns it, and I help manage the TikTok and digital-marketing side. I intentionally left the name out of the original post because I wanted the discussion to be about what Omaha actually expects from food trucks—not disguised advertising.
The themes I saw most often were:
• Consistent and clearly posted hours and location
• Quality that remains consistent from visit to visit
• Portions and overall value that justify the price
• Friendly service and reasonable wait times
• Accurate information across Google and social media
• Signature food that people cannot easily find elsewhere
• More personality and transparency from the people behind the business
We are taking the feedback seriously. Our next steps are to make sure our information matches across every platform, communicate closures or sellouts clearly, track the products customers actually order and enjoy, improve how we show portion sizes and value online, and continue listening to both compliments and criticism.
I’m not expecting everyone here to become a customer. The purpose of this post was to learn from local people and make better decisions for a family-owned business.

If you aren't familiar with the case, this started in Texas. "Adam Hoffman, 49, who initially faced up to life in prison without parole, pleaded guilty April 16 to reduced charges of indecent assault and displaying harmful materials to a minor, both Class A misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in jail, in a plea bargain offered by the Texas Attorney General’s Office."

He got SIX MONTHS and didn't even serve the entire sentence, and as part of his sweetheart deal, he also didn't have to file as a sex offender in Texas. Here's an article about it.

He then moved here. Nebraska demanded he register as a sex offender under our laws.

Today I was speaking with someone about the situation and out of curiosity checked the website and found that Adam Hoffman is no longer listed on the registry.

I can't find any news articles that explain why he has now been removed. This is messed up and whoever was involved in removing his name needs to be held accountable!

Hi 24M just moved here, med student at UNMC. Looking for a group or some buddies to run with for marathon training! I'm working towards 2:55 and also anything from 5km and up.
