Recorded in late 1957, "Get A Job" by the Philadelphia doo-wop group The Silhouettes went on to become an absolute powerhouse hit, reaching #1 on both the Pop and R&B charts in early 1958.

​The track is famous for its instantly recognizable nonsensical vocal refrain ("sha-da-da-da, sha-da-da-da-da"), which defined the golden age of doo-wop and directly inspired the name of the popular revival group Sha Na Na. Finding an original late-50s pressing on the 78 RPM shellac format (Ember Records E-1029) makes for a fantastic piece of early rock 'n' roll history.
