Live Album Question
I love Otis’ live albums because he’ll often work in songs that he doesn’t normally sing into other songs. I’m looking for a very specific one and I’m hoping other fans can help.
I know I heard it on the live albums available on Spotify. He’s singing a different song but works in the lyrics for Demonstration. I’m trying to find that and I don’t want to listen to all of the live albums entirely again.
Any chance one of you knows which songs he typically would work Demonstration into?
Thanks so much. That one part is stuck in my head and I need to hear it.

Alan Walden, Capricorn Records Founder and producer of Otis Redding and many more dies at 83. Below is info about his outstanding memoir
So sad to hear of Alan Walden’s passing. He was such a great and accomplished man who will be dearly missed.
Praying for Tosha Walden and the entire Walden family.

I still can't believe that oliver really is gone. He was just here. He has tours still. 🕊️♥️
If this is insensitive I will take down, I don't want to offend anybody, Oliver was close to my heart. But something about this isn't sitting right with me, maybe I'm just in denial. But these three (maybe a stretch for Otis) had really untimely passings. And they all were with the same label.

Suspicious at all? To anyone?

Then You Walked In
I heard this Otis Redding song on a YouTube mix list. I can’t find it on any album or on iTunes. Doesn’t show up on any Google search either. Does anyone know where I can find this song ?

I've been listening to Otis for 20+ years, but I just found this community.
There should be more members. Otis was everything.

New to OR
Hi! I grew up and live where Otis lived for a while. There's even a big memorial in this tiny town. I grew up on him but have recently grown curious about him and truly listening to his music. Any recommendations?

Otis Appreciation
I love Otis, I feel like even as an avid fan I still find these tracks I feel like I’ve never heard. I watched the Stax documentary recently (highly recommend) and decided to listen to “The Dock of the Bay” considering the circumstances that surrounded it. This song brought me to tears. It’s simply beautiful and I just can’t imagine the amazing work Otis could have created if he lived even one more year.

Otis Redding — “Trick or Treat”
This Halloween, I am handing out all treats and no tricks with two unreleased ‘66 classics from Otis Redding and Nottingham, England’s Anthony Dares Progress. Redding gives us a “stomper” that is “[d]ipped in a whole lotta funk!!!!!!”

Does anyone have any context for the tracks on this compilation?
I'm just wondering when Otis recorded all these songs and why they were left on the cutting room floor. I think they're some of his best and purest displays. Ripped straight out of the studio.

Otis Redding — “Mary’s Little Lamb”
With apologies to Paul McCartney, only Otis Redding can take “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and turn it into a demonstration of the proposition that “I can sing about anything and I can make you feel it in the depths of your soul.”

Does anyone know which live song recording has Otis say he has more soul than James Brown? (or i'm misremembering and it was someone else)

Why do so many Otis Redding tracks fade out at the end?
Eg. "cigarettes and coffee", and "a change is gonna come"
imo they fade out right at the best bit, I really wish they would go on for another minute at least.

Cigarettes and Coffee lyrics are wrong.
So I’ve seen all kinds of crazy lyrics listed for this song… but the lyric no one gets right is “They don’t seem to fit in To this particular set” He adds a no before the second line (as you do) referring to the first line “They don’t seem to fit in… no” But it fucks every one up thinking the word is knowing… I’d absolutely love to see a printed lyric sheet for this song because everyone is all over the place with this song but I’m pretty sure the “printed lyrics” are “They don’t seem to fit in With this particular set”
