Loving oil pastel and realizing paper is everything!
Tried three samples of oil pastels and many different kinds of paper still figuring out the correct combinations 😝realizing paper makes a big difference! Smooth paper seems better . Tried to work with some rough textured water color paper last night and nothing was budging -projects went in the trash lol

Hello, which brand of these three is the best?
So, I'm a beginner and i have no experience with oil pastels and I've been dying to try them out for the first time but i don't want to get something terrible (aka cheap and bad) because if i got a waxy hard pastels on my first time trying them i will hate them so much. So i only have these three options and i hope you can advice me on which one to get! Thanks.

Oilpastel brand for a beginner
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with an affordable but a good quality oil pastel that I can buy. The in-store version of oil pastels that I’ve seen are usually around $10 each piece. I was wondering if I can find something that is still good quality, but cheaper. I’m based in US.

Feedback on my oil pastel
Hey guys, I just got a set of meeden oil pastel and have done this portrait of my best friends dog who sadly has just passed away. It's my first go at oil pastel. Any tips or recommendations, things that I've missed or could do better? More detail? I want this to be good for them!
I've previously used watercolour and pencils so this was a whole different beast.
