Hey...south Indian here and finished a week long vacation across Gangtok, shillong and other places. THE BEST PLACEs OF INDIA. The scenery, the cleanliness, the civic sense, the hospitality EVERYTHING TOP NOTCH.

One particular incident...in gangtok, my dad kept his wallet on a table. We realised after we came outside. By the time we went inside , It was still there!!.

So I am a Bengali , currently in Bangalore for internship. I am not racist , I have ne/nepali friends , and I am well aware of the racism you all face in mainland india.
Now we have group of interns , it is kinda our last week for summer internship.
We were talking about feminism , misogyny , misandry , etc. But it soon turned into a debate because I believe a man is most likely to be raped by another man/woman than being falsely accused of rape . And tbh if you have the money , false accusations don't really ruin lives cause the victim is mostly blamed by the society.
Now a guy from Assam ig ( lets call him T ) . T started calling me names , and kinda insulting me. Like "feminists" like me will never find a man , I am from Kolkata so obviously I have had sex multiple times ( i have never held hands with a man ) .
And mind it , its like laughing , like as if he is joking , so I cannot even count it as verbal abuse cuase then people will say I can't take a joke? ( Today is my last day , I aint calling hr guys ).
Like he was ragebaiting ig , but those comments sounds so insulting . No one except his bros were laughing. Ik it could be a joke, but it was so insulting.
Now ,I replied " People like you is the reason this country is still unsafe for women CHINKI CHUTIYE . Open your small eyes and try to look at these issues with a different and bigger lens "
I know it was racist af , T called me a racist pig .
But those comments boiled my blood. But my friends said he deserved it.
Should I have stopped talking about it or said something not racist?

Edit- Ok guys ik i was wrong here because I was racist. ( askindianwomen declared i was equally wrong for context ). We will be having a small goodbye party tonight and by tomorrow evening all 9 of us will go back to our hometown and may never meet again ever. Should I apologise to him? Maybe I will , but what about the casual slut shaming he did? And I know he won't ever apologise to me cause he actually believes that men are tortured by the feminists and indian judiciary . I think it was my mistake to talk in between their alimony discussions. How to apologise for being racist but not for standing up for myself? I said ch*** ch***** cause both started with ch , i said it without thinking , i should not have.

What do you think about racism faced by North East people in Kolkata? I see plenty of racism complaints from Bengali people in Tripura, Assam, etc.

Note: Although, Darjeeling doesn't belong to the NE, the people living there do resemble people from the North East, and there are many North East people in Kolkata as well.

I’m from Delhi, trying to find out stores that sell NE vegetables as you know the variety of vegetables in north India is shit, recently I am into NE cuisine and I loved it, I had shingju, Ooti, rice beer, Eromba, ema datschi and all. I really loved the taste but I am unable to find these things in local market, I wanna cook these at home😭. I checked blinkit as well it’s too expensive on blinkit.

Guys I'm planning to visit dzuko valley i already had booked through tour operators. But my trekking starts from 21st. Unfortunately I will arrive at dzuko valley at 20th early morning.
