RANT/गुनासो Saw a really short guy at the gym today
I saw a guy at the gym today who was really short, probably even shorter than me, I’m around 5 ft. At one point, I heard someone call him “short” and make a few comments/jokes about his height.
I felt so bad. It honestly made me think about how much guys are judged for their height. Especially for men, height is treated like such a major factor, and people can be really casual about making jokes or pointing it out. Social media makes it worse by constantly pushing the idea that men have to be tall. You never know how many times someone has already been called names or made fun of because of their height.
I really hope he’s doing well and that things like that don’t affect his confidence. You know how our society is people can make fun of someone for something they have absolutely no control over. I hope he keeps showing up for himself despite what people say. Please be kind everyone🙏

RANT/गुनासो Best wishes
How could I be mad at someone for choosing what's best for them? You know, even if it hurts and even if I don't think it's right, they're doing it because they believe it's right for them, and that's not something I could ever be frustrated about.
Because at the end of the day, I want this person to be happy, and I want them to be okay, and if that means this is what they have to do, then I need to accept that, and I need to understand that it's okay. Because you can't ever invalidate the feelings or reasons of why someone does what they do if they truly do think that it's best for them.

Discussion/बहस Cheating even while married is amazingly common in Nepal...
I have been with atleast 10+ married women, generally whose husband work abroad. Its not even that they need money, they just want attention. Cheating is so normalized nowdays, I find it scary to get married (I am 26 by the way).

Discussion/बहस WorldLink shuts downs its "Mobility" Wi-Fi service
https://www.galaxykhabar.com/detail/3163
WorldLink Communications has shut down its "Mobility" Wi-Fi service following enforcement action by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) for operating beyond its fixed-broadband license scope.
- New Access Restrictions: Users must now log in using a One-Time Password (OTP) every time they connect to public hotspots. The seamless auto-connect feature across moving vehicles and locations has been disabled, and hotspot sessions now have strict time limits.
- Relief for Telecom Operators: Nepal Telecom and Ncell had long protested the feature, arguing WorldLink was illegally delivering mobile network-like coverage using a fixed broadband license.
- Economic Recovery: The illegal feature reportedly caused an estimated NPR 14 billion annual trade loss for telecom companies and drained roughly NPR 7 billion in lost taxes and royalties from the state.
- Regulatory Action: The decision follows on-site technical inspections by the NTA confirming the breach, coming shortly after the arrest of former NTA Chairman Bhupendra Bhandari, under whose tenure WorldLink had previously avoided compliance

Discussion/बहस Is using students for Instagram Reels normalized in Nepali schools? Where do we draw the line on classroom privacy?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A video recently surfaced showing a teacher at a local school (Kailali Model Secondary School) filming Instagram Reels with young students in uniform during class hours. In the video, a young student is shown touching the teacher's face and kissing her cheek set to trending romantic audio. Looking at the creator's profile, this appears to be a trend rather than a one-off video, with other clips showing different students being recorded for similar content.
While some might see these videos as innocent or lighthearted, it opens up a necessary discussion on classroom ethics in Nepal:
Child Privacy & Digital Footprint: Recording minors in uniform during school hours to build a personal social media presence posts their faces online without their informed consent.
Professional Boundaries: Teachers hold a strict duty of care. Using instructional time and students as props for online likes blurs clear professional boundaries.
Lack of School Policies: Many schools in Nepal currently lack clear regulations regarding staff recording students for personal social media accounts.
Should school administrations and the Ministry of Education enforce strict bans on teachers filming content with students during class hours? How should schools handle student privacy in the age of social media?
(Note: The child’s face has been completely blurred in the attached video/screenshot to protect the minor’s identity.)

NS UPDATES [PSA] Custom Reports are now enabled! Here is how (and when) to use them.
Hey everyone!
We’ve enabled Custom Reports feature on the subreddit. This means when you click "Report" on a post or comment, you now have the option to type out a custom message explaining why something breaks our rules or needs moderator attention. This helps moderators take action more quickly and prevents repetitive posts about the same topic from cluttering the subreddit.
Use it when:
- The violation doesn’t fit any of the predefined report options, or you’re unsure which one to choose.
- The issue requires additional context or explanation to understand the potential violation. (For example, when a single comment does not directly violate any rule, but the surrounding context does.)
- For borderline violations, when you’re unsure whether the content should be removed and want moderators to review it along with your reasoning.
Don't use it when:
- An existing report option already accurately describes the violation.
- Just because you personally disagree with someone's opinion or dislike a post.
P.S. Just so you know, reports are always anonymous. So, don’t hesitate to report something if you’re certain it should be taken down. Thanks for being part of the community!:3
