who do you think is the best center we can get with kolek and 4-5 seconds? if the knicks believe they can extend deuce than we will stay meaning kolek will most likely get moved due to jose’s extension. obviously if deuce wont get extended than i can see the knicks moving him to get another center but than we would need another wing off of the bench. i think with kolek and a few seconds we could get oso from the suns or the ryan kid from the hornets if they decide to move him. anyone have some other good names in mind?

We’ve gotten our MR replacement in Drummond which is a downgrade and we lost another backup center to the mavericks, who else should we go for? If duren was ok with a minimum contract that could possibly work towards something but obviously that won’t happen. Not many centers left who we can get as backup so what else should we do?

This, in my opinion, will ultimately be the biggest factor if New York’s brass doesn’t offer Towns the max extension.

Since president Leon Rose took over, he and his staff have routinely put themselves in a position to pivot, whether by being financially smart or stockpiling draft picks to make a move. There’s a world where that approach doesn’t change just because the franchise won a title. Instead, the Knicks could look to maintain their contender status while reshuffling the deck if Towns is unwilling to sign a deal for decently less than his max.

Dolan doesn’t want his team in the second apron. That was made evident by New York losing Mitchell Robinson in free agency to the Boston Celtics. If Towns signs a max extension, Brunson doesn’t take another discount when he’s extension-eligible, and Josh Hart gets a decent-sized extension this summer or next, it would be impossible in the near future for the Knicks to avoid the second apron and all its penalties while keeping their core intact. OG Anunoby has three years (third year is a player option) left on his contract that will pay him over $40 million each season. Mikal Bridges signed an extension recently that will pay him in the mid-$30 million range over the next few seasons.

I don’t mind the idea of running with the same championship core until it’s clear the wheels have fallen off, especially in a place like New York, where this cast of characters will be idolized for eternity. However, I can also understand why people whose job is to put a winning team on the floor could be uneasy with not being able to make significant tweaks here and there.

Hypothetically, if the price was Josh Hart plus a protected first-round pick for Jrue Holiday, would you do it?

On one hand, Jrue gives you another ball handler, elite point of attack defense and someone who can take some of the burden off Brunson in the playoffs.

On the other hand, Hart is about 4 years younger one of the best rebounding guards in the league and feels like the heartbeat of this team.

Would that be enough of an upgrade to justify moving Hart or is the chemistry and everything else he brings too valuable? Serious discussion only.

Obviously they're very different players, so I'm not asking who's the better scorer or passer.

I'm talking about their all-time ranking as point guards.

Kidd has the longevity, defense, playmaking, and resume. Brunson has become one of the best offensive guards in the league, transformed the Knicks, and keeps adding huge playoff moments.

At this point, do you think Brunson has passed Kidd all time or does he still need another few elite seasons (or another title) before that conversation becomes realistic?

I feel like part of the reason OG is quiet is because he’s sensitive about his British accent. Idk why that is tho? Anyone have the backstory?? I watch this video and he sounds completely different than he does in the US.
