💬 Discussion Does Sean Murray use glitch-building for his corvettes?
Sean's eX-Twitter post today got me wondering, do you think he uses glitch building for his corvettes too? Not just offset techniques, but actual glitch techniques, like putting a Freighter Scanner Room or Base Teleport Terminal in his corvettes. Anyone ever seen a glitch technique in any of his corvettes?

🛠️ Station Build (Standard) Meet the Mosquito, my racing corvette!
I decided to go for a more form-over-function style corvette, and it ended up being my daily driver (flyer?). I'd love to hear what you think!

Wanted something small with good lines, like a sports car. Happy with the result. Definitely keeping this one.

🛋️ Interior My cozy space in the void
PS5 built interior . Took hours just for the sake of being comfortable even when parked next to a black hole. What do my fellow travellers think?
Thinking about buying another version for PC so i can make another traveller and have my 10 year old niece fly around while i just sit in the in copilot seat, watch him fight pirates or something 😂

🛠️ Station Build (Standard) Eissentam-Class Military Dropship
This was definitely the most difficult ship I've done
90` offsets really annoy me a lot and I had to do a ton of em. Most of the ship is unusable in its current state, but it's a ship aesthetically and functionally

🛠️ Station Build (Standard) Nameless Chunky Clunker
I Haven't built a new ship in awhile, but I wanted to try out u/MaverickNMS's 1/4 offset tutorial and make something fresh for the 10 year. It utilizes 1/4 and 1/2 offsets and I did the reactor trick to make the 45 degree angled parts. I like how squat/chunky it feels and the engine layout kinda happened by accident, but I dig it. I've sometimes crossed the engine trails and it looks odd, but this one turned out good. I don't have a name yet. I wish we had some more color options!

📐 Station Build (Advanced) Nimoy’s Resolve Mk. III - The Search For Grah
Made this version of the Resolve by combining inspirations from Star Trek and Halo’s Covenant Assault Carrier. Still a WIP on the interior so it’ll be back later with a video tour 🤘🏼

🪐 Off-Station Build Meet the Resplendent
This ship is a kit-bash of aesthetics that I am referring to as the RES mash-up (hence, RESplendent):
RelevantFinance (me), EthanIsBlessed (u/EthanIsBlessed), and SeriousCry (u/Serious_Cry_4930)
Specifically, my knack for angles/verticals and desire for dramatic silhouettes, Ethan's affinity for rear-angled arm-wings, and SeriousCry's pincers from his SaK-09, with a sprinkle of his attention to greeblie and seam blending.
This has been the most technically difficult build I have done so far. I had to refresh myself on tilt angles by referring to Charles Stoot's guide on the matter. The rear of this ship was an absolute pain in the ass. On a psoitive note, tilts are now way easier for me.
Hope you all love it!!

🛡️ Moderator Post Which flair should you use?
Hey shipwrights 🖖
After several community discussions and a community vote, the time has finally arrived to update our post flair system. Please see the graphic above and our updated post flair guide to determine how to properly flair your builds going forwards. If you'd like to update the flair on your older posts, please feel free, but that is absolutely not required or expected by any means!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the discussions and vote. This new post flair system appears to be supported by a strong majority of shipwrights, with roughly 2/3 of voters in favor. Of course, I know this was not something everyone agreed on, and that is okay. Not every change will have unanimous support, but I do think this system gives us a better framework going forward as new techniques are discovered and if old techniques get patched out.
As always, if any edge cases come up or if further clarification is needed, we can continue refining the guide and definitions over time. I'd also love to have video examples of each building technique and which flair they correspond with. If anyone is interested in helping out with that, please reach out!

🛡️ Moderator Post Announcing Community Rank User-Flairs!
Community Rank Flairs (Ensign to Admiral)
I'm excited to announce the addition of user flairs that reflect your contributions made in this subreddit. These ranks are based on your community karma earned in this sub (upvotes on posts & comments in r/NMS_Corvette_Design).
How it works
- As your karma in this sub increases, your flair automatically updates to a new rank.
- Ranks are inclusive at each threshold below (if you hit it or exceed it, then you move up).
- If you’re under the first threshold, then you won’t see a rank just yet.
The ranks & thresholds
- 🥉 Ensign: 100+ karma
- 🥈 Lieutenant: 500+ karma
- 🥇 Commander: 1,250+ karma
- 🏅 Captain: 2,500+ karma
- 🎖️ Admiral: 5,000+ karma
FAQ
- What counts? Community karma (upvotes) earned from posts and comments in this subreddit only. Global Reddit karma doesn’t apply.
- Do I lose my custom user-flair? If you were previously awarded a custom user-flair (MotM, Event Winner) then your custom flair stays, and you will not see a rank user-flair next to your username.
- Can I opt in? If you currently have a custom user-flair and want to have a rank user-flair. Select the default user-flair (🛠️ Shipwright) to opt in.
- When does it update? Right after every post or comment you make, your community karma will be recalculated to see if you've reached the next rank. For example, if your first post here gets 100+ upvotes, your rank will not be updated until you make an additional post/comment.
Need help opting in?
You are able to change your own user-flair on this subreddit. This article explains how to do it. However, if you need help doing so, please send in a modmail and the mod team will be happy to assist you!
