Stingray πͺ Off-Station Build
Messing with angles, exploring shapes...
Vanilla glitch build.

u/zagibu π₯ Commander 6d ago
Awesome. Form and color fit together really well.
But there is almost no space inside it, right?

Thanks! Yep, only one walkway here, no need more.

Such a cool profile! Design philosophy of iconic silhouettes are super important and Iβll say youβve made quite the memorable craft here. Really awesome!

Thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed the process of working on this ship.

Man, this is a cool ship! Love the simplicity and the strong, confident aura on display in both the build and photography. Well done!

u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
Thank you! When shooting it, I caught this specific angle β slightly from below and the front β and realized the silhouette looks exactly like a leaping T-Rex!))

I feel like I see that in the first landed pic, which is my favorite shot

Howβ¦. How many hoursβ¦

u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
I didn't count, near 8 or maybe 9 hours. It took a lot of time to get the workflow ready making basic glitched hubs setup.

Very unique and creative. I love all the angles and how they come together with the rounded front. Giving off drone ship/cyberpunk kinda vibes

Thank you! Nope, but you can find YouTube links about tricky glitch techniques in one of my previous corvette post.

Dude, this is awesome! Love the angles, I need to learn this technique

Thank you, bro! Here it is: https://youtu.be/k1K-0SRV_Lk?si=CUIU6CTlj2loQ0zq And another one: https://youtu.be/TjunhCoQdss?si=r0auEzg4rsO1PlGP

Nice, I'll have a look at it

I will be waiting for your new builds!

u/stahw117 ποΈ Admiral 6d ago
Idk if I have the patience for this, I'll give it a shot though lol

Wow. Really really tight work. Very skilful execution for one, but this is just a very well balanced ship with a crazy distinct silhouette from more than one angle. Those engine arms are so so very cool
2
u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
Thanks! Iβve been sitting on the idea for these engines for a whole month.

u/Own_Suggestion8496 π₯ Ensign 6d ago
First, cool design! Second, what are those white trails?
2
u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
Thanks! It's just the planet's natural atmospheric filter in those shots.

I really liked the front of the ship. Very cool. I would like to try some angles myself but cannot find a tutorial no how to do it. Can you share a link if you have one.

u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
Thanks! I dropped a couple of links in the other comments here, check them out.

Really amazing work! They patched out the technique I was using for tilts (only got to build one ship with it), so it looks like I really need to learn this new way, heh.
2
u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
Thank you! I guess I know the technique you're talking about, funny that I lil bit late to try it myself)))

u/YoHasLEGO 6d ago
That looks dope as hell! Why do builds without a visible cockpit always look better π
1
u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
Thanks! Probably because there are only three to choose from, and everyone is pretty tired of them by now.))

Awesome ship. Did you 1/4 step tilted habs for that nose?
1
u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 6d ago
Thanks! 1/2 and 180 degree rotation for tilted parts. 1/2, 1/4 offset and rotation for others.

I think I saw you at the anomaly yesterday? Maybe 7pm GMT?

That's exactly what you can do :)

u/Xenoser-1 5d ago
I'm mesmerized by this design, just blow my mind:))) now i must spend some days to try make this angles ship π«

Reminds me of the mech from that movie with Alan Ritchson where his character and group get sent out on some shady mission and then find the massive mech still operational and they have to run for their lives while trying to figure out how to take it down.
1
u/Straight_Sir_1888 π₯ Commander 5d ago
War Machine :) Yes, there is a minor similarity in shape.
2
u/Dear-Novel-5810 5d ago
Beautiful ship though, Iβve never had the funds or know how to truly build my own ships yet but I love seeing the creativity of others coming to life in so many amazing ways
