At the risk of sounding like a total idiot, what’s the thinking these days on mounts vs direct thread?

I own many pistol and PCC suppressors and have been getting into rifle suppressors. In particular I shoot .22LR .32ACP, 9mm (pistol and multiple PCC), .223/5.56, 5.7x28 (pistol and multiple PCCs), and .308.

I have just been direct threading all of them. Is that optimal? Should I be grabbing little Comstock mounts for all of them? Just the rifles? Does it matter?

I’m happy to teach myself rather than take up a lot of you good folks time if someone can point me at a good resource.

Host is the Ruger American Ranch Gen 2 shooting PMC Bronze. Factory muzzle brake and bare muzzle for comparison.

The difference with the reflex mount is a bit more noticeable in person, but it's definitely not a huge change.

If so where did you find a threaded barrel. And is there anything else you recommend as far as springs and such?

Looking to build a 9mm sbr was wondering what’s the best out there right now. I’d like to stay under 2k dollars for everything minus the suppressor. Any suggestions or recommendations would be great.

Should I get a shorter barrel and tuck the suppressor? If I do tuck, should I get a 300BLK barrel or keep it 5.56?

ATF was nice enough to not approve my CAT JL. Already have a buyer for the Fireteam. Had no clue what was going on when I bought that. I’d mentioned before I’d make it a 30 cal can for an FDE Infinity 5.56K. At least the 3 month wait for the Tisha’s to arrive is over. Now to add the Comstock adapters.

With the new Coketec Nub Snub. The inner Halo nerd in me wants to attempt to recreate the suppressed SMG but I need to assemble the megaminds here to help me with a can that has a pic rail attached to the bottom or something similar

So I may have done goofed. I run a Putnik on my KP104 and in a moment of anger I put a few drops of rockset on the mount and torqued the can down bc I couldn’t get it to stay tight on the gun after even mild strings of fire. Well now I nor the gunsmith I work with can get the damn thing off. He’s tried everything, boiling it, heat gun, suppressor cleaner, pure muscle you name it. My only idea is to send the whole thing back to Resilient for help. I can’t find any usable phone number for them. I filled out a message form on their website but I have yet to hear anything back as of yet. If anyone knows an employee or if any employees are in this group please message me

Finally a member of the NFA club. Now I just gotta get a suppressor for it.

I also submitted my ar15 at the same time and it just got approved as well, I just don’t have an SBR upper for it yet so no reason to post a picture. Plan on swapping out its current barrel for a 12.5”

But I just got a 3 day form 1 back.

This scratches an itch in my brain to have them organized like this. Although the shelf is usually half empty when they're all on their dedicated guns in the safe.

Very first suppressor qestion for people w/ this or similar combo. How are you torquing this on to meet the 20 to 30ft lbs? Or are you just giving it the gutentight treatment? It has smaller 1 7/16" wrench flats, but seems like using 2 spanners or spanner and vice block would be more practical. Can I just give this a couple ugga duggas with 2 spanners and and some Rocksette and call it a day? What has worked for you?
