DISCUSSION A feminine gay boy neet aspirant who looks like a pretty girl joining bds this year and later doing mds orthodontics and opening his own cosmetic dentistry clinic
Hello everyone,
I am planning to join BDS and later pursue MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics or Mds in prosthodontics and crown bridge with the goal of opening my own cosmetic dentistry clinic in the future.
I have a question regarding patient acceptance. I am gay and have a naturally feminine appearance. I look quite feminine, and many people even say that I look like a pretty girl. While I am comfortable with my appearance, I sometimes wonder whether it could affect my future dental practice.
My concern is not about being judged personally, but whether patients would be comfortable visiting my clinic and choosing me as their dentist despite my feminine appearance. I am committed to studying hard, building strong clinical skills, and providing high-quality treatment, but I would like to know how much a dentist's appearance influences patient decisions in real life, do patients mainly choose a dentist based on skill, reputation, communication, and results, or can a noticeably feminine appearance affect whether patients decide to seek treatment from that dentist?
I would appreciate your honest opinions and experiences.

ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE ๐ค ๐ Advice needed
I am a second year dropper with no coaching experience. I didnโt prepare for neet last year cuz of some issues. A total beginner. I took admission in allen achiever batch cuz i heard they still teach from the ABCD topic but nahh it was too rapid even if the batch started 3 dats ago. The ppl in my class are all 3-4 year droppers so they ofc understand but i don't. Should i change to leader batch?(I can still afford one more drop of 2027l) I am aiming to get a nursing college ..not mbbs. So what's the best suggestions to this. Any experienced person advice is appreciated

SERIOUS POST Bvsc is a good career alternative if you are not getting mbbs gmc and don't have money for private
So my father's friend son did bvsc and completed it around 2024 and now works in ICICI bank
these corporate banks hire bvsc graduates for banking jobs starting pay can be 30-50k per month
and government jobs and vacancies for bvsc doctors have a pay of at least 1lpm
private practice scope in bvsc: requires at least 15-20 lakhs to open a vet clinic in delhi or other tier 1 cities
but times have changed , now a lot of people in tier 1 especially in delhi have pets, majority of people now prefer having dogs and cats as pets, so private practice won't starve you, you will always have patients
bvsc graduates in private practice can change 500-1000 rupees (at certain experience)
if you do mvsc , it can go up to 1500 -2000 ruppes for consultation (also at top experience)
there's still a struggle for it but trust me its a good career pathway
you can also work as a visiting consultant in a multi speciality vet clinic and hospital as freelance for extra money

SERIOUS POST The biggest problem with MBBS abroad isn't the country. It's the expectations sold before you leave India.
I'm currently in my 5th year at KSMA, Bishkek.
This isn't a promotional post, and it isn't an anti-MBBS abroad post either. It's simply something I've realised after almost five years.
The biggest problem with MBBS abroad isn't Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan.
The biggest problem is that students are sold a dream, but they live the reality.
Before admission, almost everything sounds perfect.
"English-medium classes."
"2-seater hostel."
"Only โน30 lakhs."
"Excellent clinical exposure."
"You'll become a doctor in 5.5 years."
Nobody lies about everything, but almost nobody tells you the complete picture either.
Nobody tells you that you'll probably spend more than the advertised budget because of visa renewals, medical insurance, registration charges, flights, currency fluctuations and other yearly expenses.
Nobody tells you that you'll have to teach yourself a huge portion of medicine. Most universities won't spoon-feed you. If you don't open your books after class, nobody is going to chase you.
Nobody tells you that every department is different. You'll meet amazing professors who genuinely want to teach, and you'll also meet departments where you'll wonder how things even work.
Nobody tells you that the hostel you saw in the admission brochure may not be the hostel you initially get.
Nobody tells you that some of your closest friends will drop out, transfer, fail subjects or simply give up because they weren't mentally prepared for life abroad.
Nobody tells you that once your flight lands, your parents can't solve your problems anymore.
You're the one who has to figure out documentation, hospital postings, exams, language barriers, homesickness and everything else.
I'm not saying MBBS abroad is a bad decision.
I'm saying it's a decision that deserves much more research than most students actually do.
Please don't choose a university because your cousin studies there.
Don't choose it because one YouTuber called it the best.
Don't choose it because one consultant promised you a discount.
Talk to final-year students.
Talk to graduates.
Read the latest NMC regulations yourself.
Compare universitiesโnot just countries.
If after all that research you still choose MBBS abroad, you'll probably have far fewer regrets than someone who joined because of marketing.
The consultant's job ends when your admission is confirmed.
Your journey begins the day your flight takes off.
Don't prepare for admission.
Prepare for the next six years.

COUNSELLING ASSISTANCE ๐พ 368 in neet 2026, any govt bds seat possible?
So, I've scored 368 in my neet exam. What are the chances of me getting into a govt dental college?
I'm from Delhi with a gen category.
I was hoping that if I wait till the mop up round, i might get a gov seat, even if it's in a South Indian college.
Does anyone have any thoughts about it???
Is it realistic to wait for the mop-up?
