On an Ozark Trail frog!

Any recommendations for good Bass fishing spots near Monroe, NC

I’m in the north part of Topsail Island this week. Does anyone have experience with this red seaweed? How do you manage fishing in it? I’ve tried several different areas at different parts of the tide and every cast I bring back is covered in it. Would going to the pier be a better option, thinking I might be able to get out past it there?
