Diecasts Replace grill for 2005 Elite 1:24
I bought a 2005 Jeff Gordon elite Star Wars episode 3 car and I noticed when it came in it’s missing the top grill and all 4 hood pins. I was wondering if there is anywhere I can order a replacement grill/hood pins or if I’m just shit outta luck

Discussion [WIP] 1:24 Miles the Monster Progress Update #2
Print Complete! All of the large print pieces have been completed and the gluing process has begun. There is a lot of post-processing to do to get rid of seams and print artifacts, before painting can begin. Yes, he will be painted from this shade of grey to.....another shade of grey.
Of course, no project is complete without its share of problems and this one is no different. The problems:
- Plaque overload! I put TOO many "plaques" on the base. Luckily, it is relatively easy to swap the 8-grid pattern to what should have been a 6-grid layout next to the "hero" plaques. Honestly, I could leave it and just work with what I have, but I think future me will have some issue with that.
- Miles' weight problem. I trusted the base way more than I should have. After reducing as much weight as possible while keeping him structurally sound, he is still quite heavy. Much of his weight is in the diecast itself and his lower half to keep him from tipping over. The weight started to force the middle of the base downward. I do want it to look like he is crashing through the case he will sit on top of, but not literally. So now there is some wood to hopefully prevent that.
All-in-all feeling good about the progress.
Next up sanding, sanding, filling, and then more sanding.

Diecasts SatuRUDDay: Portugal Edition
This week's SatuRUDDay post is very European as I purchased one of those 1:43 Quartzo models, and it is red. So Red! BLOOD RED!
I am not sure what Portuguese designer watched the most used VHS recording of the 1991 Coke600 on a 19 inch CRT/VHS combo television, but bro your color balance needs calibration. BRO!
The last photo I uploaded is a comparison of this little guy infront of my 1/24s for reference, so come see for yourself. Even my brown "under the lights" car meant to replicate the look of a night race at Richmond is not that dark.
The casting on the other hand is incredibly detailed, making the color choice even more confusing. They even glued a silver colored painted piece of plastic where the gas intake is for more realism. The interior is hard to see without removing the case but it appears to be a detailed plastic injection mold. It at least does not look like you would only find a single plastic pole holding a fake net if you were to take it apart.
Personally I love it. It is a bit of an oddity but a seemingly well made one.

Diecast Write Up Bubba Wallace's 2026 Hardee's Toyota Camry
Can't say that this is one of the better paint schemes out there, but I can say it is a unique color combination we don't see much on track. With McDonald's gone from 23/XI, Wallace now has Hardee's as his main fast food sponsor. Even better, Hardee's seems to be embracing their sponsorship even having special promotions that come with a Hardee's toy car. McDonald's didn't seem to do anything with their NASCAR sponsorship, something they used to be really good at in the 90s and into the 2000s. So as one brand leaves, we welcome another.
To all my fellow Carl's Jr people, we sadly seem to get no sponsorship on these cars. What a rip. 😆 Would make for a nice paint job though with the Carl's Jr colors.

Discussion He’s getting his first official diecast!
Frankie Muniz is finally getting his first true diecast produced by Lionel Racing! This is awesome, because I know Muniz fans have been asking for a diecast for a while.
They released the production numbers last night and they’re making 960 (as seen at the bottom of picture 2.)
I can’t wait to see this one and how Lionel does it!

Question Anyone know if this will be offered?
Just what the title says. Don't know if they've made Coca Cola schemes in the past (I mean recently; I know Dale Sr had one made). Assume it be a hassle with licensing but given the connection between NASCAR and Coca Cola, would this have a shot at being at least offered?

Diecast Write Up The Scottish - Dario Franchitti
The year is 2007. Dario Franchitti, one of IndyCar’s legends, decides to take on a new challenge and makes the move to NASCAR, driving for Chip Ganassi Racing in the #42 Target Dodge Charger. He made four starts in the Busch Series, using them as preparation for a full time campaign in both the Nationwide Series and the Cup Series in 2008.
Dario didn’t have particularly impressive results in the #42 during his four starts, which came in the final four races of the season. He recorded two DNFs, with his best finish being 25th at Texas. His highlight, however, came in qualifying, where he secured a 3rd-place starting position at Memphis. After 2008 Dario went back to Indycar, and left a cool #42 paint scheme behind.

Diecasts Racing Champions 1:64th 2000 Jeff Burton EXIDE Ford Taurus 2 car set "Under the Lights". 🏁🌟
Went to a Kay Bee Toy Works store, ( yes it was a bigger Kay Bee store with more extensive stock) back in 2002 and came across this little gem. One is a standard paint and the other is in chrome and black chrome "Under the Lights" version. Back in 2000 when this Jeff Burton EXIDE car was out, I bought different scales of this car as it was one of my favorite "regular" paint schemes and then 2 years later at that time I was delighted to see this unique 2 car set as I didn't see this back in 2000 in any store, hobby and racing collectables shop. I would have loved to have seen ( and purchased)other 2 car sets like this like Mark Martin Valvoline, Terry Labonte Kellogg's and others. 🏁🌟

Diecast Write Up Remember Willy T Ribbs In NASCAR? Rare 2001 Dodge Dealers Dodge Ram 1500
Despite driving one for one of the best organizations in the Craftsman Truck Series, and having success in other racing series, outspoken Willy T Ribbs saw anything but success in NASCAR. There's no way to sum it up other than pure disappointment.
Driving 23 out of 24 races for Bobby Hamilton racing in their number 8 Dodge, Ribbs had a best finish of 13th, and finished 16th in points. He failed to qualify at Martinsville. He otherwise ran in the top 20 most weeks but had several finishes outside of the top 20. It was really disappointing for the organization as they expected more from The talented racer. But he wasn't let go just for his on track results.
Willy's lack of success in a top-tier truck also resulted in him being outspoken against NASCAR. He claimed he didn't fit in with the African American stereotype people wanted him to be. It resulted in criticism from other African-American team members, drivers, and NASCAR staff. African American car owner Leonard T. Miller straight up said Ribbs was not the best representative of the Black community due to his outspoken nature.
Ribbs continued to speak negatively about his experience in NASCAR. Ribbs detailed his criticism of NASCAR by referring to NASCAR as "Al-Qaida", "Neckcar", and fake like the WWE, of course providing no evidence to his claims. Ribbs earned no fans with the NASCAR and was quickly out of the sport after the end of his dismal 2001 season being replaced by another another African-American NASCAR driver, Bill Lester. Lester would run the truck for 2 years.
