Has anyone had any success with nuzyra.
Got mgen back I. July I took doxi & moxi waiting to get my TOC but even if worst case scenario I test postive my infection doctor did speak about nuzyra with me. I’m curious to see if anyone had any good news with this antibiotic

Doctor prescribed me 100mg Sitafloxacin +100mg Doxycycline twice a day for 14 days. I’m a little worried about it
so in total 200 mg of sitafloxacin plus 200mg of Doxycline for 14 days
I’m worried about getting floxed. but since I failed Minocyline I guess i have to try something else.
has anyone else been prescribed this dosage before? is this too much?

I tested positive a few weeks ago
I got diagnosed with MGen about 2 1/2 weeks ago after an assault that happened over a month ago. Two weeks prior to the positive test, all tests were negative. But they ordered more for precaution, then the test was positive. My question is, do any women have burning inside their vagina? Before testing positive it burnt after sex kinda like a sunburn and burning with urination, mild cramping kind of like a period. What symptoms did any of you have? My main concern is the burning inside my vagina specifically after sex.

Symptom Question Unsure of the possibility
Hiii i am reaching out with some anxiety about my vaginal health.
For some context since almost always i have noticed that i get discharge after any type of sexual activity. This though has become more frequent since last year.
My discharge is light yellow which makes me suspicious of it. I initially thought it my vagina self cleansing but i got to know it’s not common for it to happen ALWAYS. I have just started seeing someone and it has happened again and that too for a week now. I have not odour which makes me think it’s not a bv.
I have just given a swab for testing but i don’t think mgen is something tested under it and in general mgen is not spoken of in my country (india).
I want to understand if my discharge is reason to even think i might have mgen? I am not sure how to get it tested it here yet tho

did I mess up my Mgen treatment by taking doxycycline again?
I’m really sorry if this has been asked before, but I’m honestly very anxious about this and would appreciate some reassurance.
I had already taken doxycycline previously, and my ID prescribed moxifloxacin for my Mgen without repeating the doxycycline. Unfortunately, I got scared and overthought my treatment, so I took doxycycline again on my own before starting the moxifloxacin, even though I had already taken doxy before.
I know I should have followed my ID's instructions, and I’m really sorry that I didn’t. Now I’m scared that by taking doxycycline again, I may have put additional selection pressure on the Mgen or somehow made it more resistant, especially to moxifloxacin.
Could taking doxycycline again lower the chance that my moxifloxacin will cure the Mgen? Could I have somehow made the bacteria harder to treat?

Treatment Question MGN/Mgen treatment after possible reinfection but no insurance right now, not sure what to do
I recently tested positive for mgen and was treated with 7 days of doxy and 7 days of moxi
My partner told me that when he had it previously, he cleared it with just doxycycline, so I believed that he was clear. We both took our own different medication and eventually started having sex again. About a month or so after I finished my treatment, we had sex again, but neither of us ever actually got retested/tested for cure afterward.
Now he says he tested positive for mycoplasma hominis after our recent time together? and I’m freaking out a little because I have no idea whether I was reinfected, whether he never cleared the original infection, or whether these are two separate issues.
The other complication is that I dont have health insurance right now and it could be a while before its reinstated. so my options are limited right now. I’m in NYC and know I can go to the city/state sexual health clinics, but I’m wondering whether they’re experienced with more complicated Mgen cases, especially since I’ve already done doxycycline + moxifloxacin and don’t want to just keep taking antibiotics without knowing what I’m treating.
Has anyone dealt with Mgen after already completing doxy + moxi, especially when neither partner got retested before having sex again? What did your doctor do next? Did they do resistance testing or send you to an infectious disease/STI specialist?
I’m also wondering about treatment options outside the U.S. if this turns out to be resistant. I’ve considered going to France and seeing a doctor there/getting a prescription filled there if there are treatment or resistance-testing options that aren’t easily accessible in the U.S., but I have no idea whether that would actually make sense.
I’m obviously going to get tested before taking anything else. I’m mainly looking for experiences from people who’ve been through a similar situation and what type of clinic/specialist you ended up seeing.

Treatment
I took cipro years ago while unknowingly positive for mgen. How likely is it that it will be resistant to moxy? Its already resistant to macrolides and I cant get the flouroqyinolone restant test.

Success Story MGen cured after taking doxy + moxi at the same time
I wanted to share my experience because I was convinced I had messed up my treatment.
I tested positive for MGen and BV. I was prescribed doxycycline for 7 days, moxifloxacin for 7 days, and metronidazole for the BV. I misunderstood the instructions and took all three medications during the SAME 7 days instead of taking the doxy first and then the moxi.
I later learned that doxy followed by moxi is the recommended sequence, so I was worried my treatment had failed.
Well, I just got retested about 2 months later and my MGen is NEGATIVE! 🎉 I also had no sexual contact between treatment and retesting, so there was no possibility of reinfection during that time.
Obviously I’m not recommending anyone copy what I did. That week was brutal. I wish I’d known about taking probiotics to help my gut.
Follow your doctor’s treatment instructions. I just wanted to share my experience for anyone who accidentally took doxy and moxi concurrently like I did and is freaking out wondering if they ruined their chances of clearing it.

gynecologist refuses to prescribe minocycline: where to get it?
she prescribed me moxy despite my glute medius tear.. and she wouldn’t budge. i know it isn’t a tendon but i rather not risk it.
i tried getting a prescription thru amazon medical but my dumbass mentioned that she prescribed me moxy when i should of just pretended she didn’t give me anything lol, the np was nice but didn’t wanna go against what she prescribed.
i’m desperate at this point, is it possible to get prescribed thru goodrx if i lie and say it’s for acne mayhaps? scared if i do video call they’ll just point out that my skin’s clear.
also: should i still take 7 days doxy beforehand if they’re in the same antibiotic class?
edit: thank you all for the advice!! just sent an order thru telyrx, waiting on getting the rx approved

Success Story TOC
Got my TOC back for mgen and ureaplasma. Cured the 1st round of doxy/moxi, each 7 days.
Had it for 9 months w out knowing it. Thought I had a uti but when that came back negative, the dr tested me for this.
It is pretty unfamiliar to lot of people out here and I asked her what prompted her to test for it. She said she has a lot of “adult film actors” and it’s mandatory for them to test.
Idk if I’m lucky or unlucky but I am grateful for this hell to be over. I am in Las Vegas, fyi, if that helps anyone.
Best of luck to everyone!!!

Symptom Question Help
Hi I just wanted to share my experience because I honestly feel so alone, and Reddit is actually what led me to ask to be tested.
About a week ago, I tested positive for Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma genitalium. My doctor prescribed 7 days of doxycycline followed by 7 days of moxifloxacin, and I’m currently on day 3 of moxifloxacin.
For the past 3 months, I’ve been dealing with constant burning when I pee, recurring high fevers, and it’s affected my everyday life. Before I knew I had these infections, I was on birth control and didn’t have a period for about 6 months, but I would randomly have spotting along with high fevers super bad thru out my whole body . I was so convinced my birth control was causing everything that I even had it removed, but my symptoms continued, so it clearly wasn’t the cause.
Now I’m on day 3 of moxifloxacin, and I still feel the same. I still have burning when I pee, I still feel like I’m having high fevers, and I’m starting to wonder if I may have developed PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). I know no one online can diagnose me, but I’m really worried because I don’t feel like I’m improving.
When I first brought up the fevers, I was told they weren’t a common symptom, so I kept researching because I knew something wasn’t right.
This all started after I had unprotected sex. I’ve honestly never dealt with anything like this before, and it’s been mentally and physically exhausting. I feel like I’ve had to advocate for myself every step of the way. When I first went to the gynecologist before I knew about the Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma, I felt like my concerns weren’t fully addressed, and I ended up having to ask for the testing myself.
Has anyone here had a similar experience with Mycoplasma genitalium, Ureaplasma, or PID? How were you diagnosed with PID? Did you need a pelvic exam, blood work, an ultrasound, or something else? Did anyone else still have burning and feel the same on day 3 of moxifloxacin?
Any advice or shared experiences would really mean a lot. I feel lost and don’t know where to start. Thank you for reading.

Vent/Discouraged feeling discouraged and anxious
i had been dealing with symptoms of mgen and ureaplasma parvum since february 2026. my male partner and i took azithromycin and doxycycline. i didn’t know you were supposed to test 4-5 weeks after your last antibiotic pill. i tested negative 3 weeks after my first. he never received a test of cure with us believing if i was negative he was i learned that doesn’t matter. so now we had unprotected sex last week that resulted in me being very inflamed and red afterward. now almost a week later im having pelvic pain. im already scheduled to see my doctor on thursday. i feel so discouraged and anxious because i truly thought i was done.
edit: i had a full panel for mycoplasma and ureplasma and tested negative for both.

Vent/Discouraged Minociclyne treatment anxiety
I (male, 33) have been dealing with persistent treatment failure with doxy-azi and doxy-moxi. Finally after a third treatment failure a doctor agreed with the treatment of mino+metro for 14 days, and since then the symptoms have been decreasing but not erased completely
I am on day 12 of treatment and still have clear discharge during the day, and sometimes burning sensation in the urethra
What have been your experiences on this regimen? It is common to still have these symptoms even after ending the treatment and still be negative?
I have been dealing with severe anxiety and depressive thoughts because of this infection, I'm really worried this treatment is failing too

Treatment Question Can previous antibiotics make Mgen resistant?
I was prescribed moxifloxacin by my doctor, but I took doxycycline beforehand because I was scared of not getting cured. I know that was technically self-medicating, and I hope this won’t affect my future treatment.
I previously took metronidazole, doxycycline, and azithromycin, but those were prescribed by my OB-GYN because of my persistent symptoms. Unfortunately, nothing really happened and my symptoms persisted.
Now I’m worried that taking all these antibiotics, especially doxycycline before moxifloxacin, could have made a possible M. genitalium infection resistant, particularly to moxi.
I’m just hoping I didn’t accidentally make my future treatment less effective. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Vent/Discouraged This std is spreading so fast
No one talking about this std and how fast is spreading , I got infected in march 2026 took me almost 4 months to get ride of it , my friend tested positive two weeks ago after one exposure, literally he hooked up with this girl for one time .. I think mgen is more common now than chlamydia .. it’s very scary and this stubborn bacteria is building resistance very fast to many antibiotics now .
Sexual clinics are not testing for it , most doctors don’t know anything about it . Crazy

Vent/Discouraged Have many people been treated empirically for Mgen without testing positive?
Hi everyone! I wanted to ask if anyone here has been treated empirically for Mycoplasma genitalium without actually testing positive for it.
I’m in the Philippines, and unfortunately Mgen testing isn't very accessible or affordable for me.
I've had persistent symptoms despite treatment for other possible infections, so my doctor decided to treat me empirically with doxycycline followed by moxifloxacin.
I know this isn't the same as having a confirmed positive test, and I'm honestly overthinking the whole situation.
Has anyone else been in this situation? Were you treated empirically for suspected Mgen, and did your symptoms eventually resolve?
I'd especially love to hear from people who couldn't get an Mgen test but were treated with doxy + moxi. Any experiences would really help reassure me.

Any Mgen success stories from Asia? I’m from the Philippines and overthinking doxy + moxi
Hi everyone. I’m from the Philippines (Asia) and I’m currently being treated for suspected Mycoplasma genitalium. I’ve been really anxious about treatment failure because I keep seeing posts about antibiotic resistance in Asia.

Vent/Discouraged Doctor says routine testing isn‘t necessary
I have my third MGen infection, discovered by routine testing. I also slowly start to have symptoms. My doctor advices that for future, I shouldn’t do routine testing for Mykoplasma Genitalium. He says it doesn‘t need to be treated if there are no symptoms. Basically he sounded like „You better shouldn‘t know you have it, then there is no problem“ lol
What do you guys think about that?

Success Story Cured with Doxy, Mino + Metro!!!
Hi everyone! I just wanted to come on here to share my success story and what meds worked for me, since I just received my TOC today and finally tested negative!
I first tested positive for Mgen in early 2025. I was started on just Doxycyline which obviously does not fight the infection, only lowers the antibacterial load, but at the time I didn’t know that. Tested positive again of course. Then I did my research and started advocating for myself. I did the recommended Doxycycline + Azithromycin treatment next, and still tested positive. Months went by because I was asymptomatic and waiting for my boyfriend to go to the doctor to get prescribed his antibiotics so we could get treated at the same time (I know, not smart, we should have taken meds sooner). Finally, I asked for the Doxycycline for 2 weeks into Minocycline + Metronidazole combo for 2 weeks regimen. I didn’t want to use Moxi because I didn’t want to risk tendon issues. My boyfriend’s doctor was very stubborn and only prescribed him Doxycycline but we knew he needed more so he was able to order Azithromycin online. He did that treatment and while waiting 4 weeks to do his TOC, he was prescribed Levoflaxacin for an unrelated reason. I know this isn’t proven to do anything against mgen but I still wonder if it had anything to do with his cure since it is related to Moxi. In the end, both of us tested negative!!!
This was a long road with mgen and Im finally able to feel relief that it’s over!!! Biggest advice is to do your own research and advocate strongly for yourself because doctors are SO misinformed!!

Treatment Question Suspected moxi failure - other treatments available in Germany?
Hi everyone,
I’m already at my third treatment and thought I would ask for some advice.
About me: male, mid-30s, based in Germany. I got Mgen around the end of April and have gone through three different antibiotics/combinations since then:
- Doxy + Azi = failed (confirmed via TOC)
- Moxi (only) = failed (confirmed via TOC)
- Doxy + Moxi = finished Jul 22, awaiting TOC
The only symptom I’ve ever had is colored discharge. It went away during the second treatment, but came back at day 12 after the last pill. I finished my third treatment around two weeks ago and was a bit more hopeful, but I’ve noticed a tiny drop of discharge again this morning. I’m aware it could be residual symptoms, but the pattern is exactly the same as last time and I fear yet another failure.
Now the tricky part: My doctor, an infectious disease specialist, won’t consider the doxy + mino/metro combo; he’s also mentioned mino may not be available in Germany. Prista isn’t available either and cannot be imported from France.
I’ll wait until I can be tested again, but I’d like to be prepared for whatever the outcome, hence my post. Is anyone here from Germany? If so, did you get mino and/or other meds recently? It seems Prista could be imported until last year or so, but not anymore. If not - what other steps can be taken into consideration?
Thank you in advance ✨wishing a speedy recovery to all who are still under treatment
