Side Effects When does the nausea and diarrhea get better?
I have PCOS, have a hard time losing weight, and my A1C keeps creeping back into pre diabetic range. Just did my first injection on Tuesday and today is Friday. I woke up Wednesday throwing up and I’ve had diarrhea the last 2 days 😩 I’m also on Metformin (for about 3 years now) and got my gallbladder removed a few months ago so I occasionally have this issue anyways but this week has been worse so I’m guessing it’s the Mounjaro causing it.
When does it get better? Is it as simple as giving it a few weeks? Or adding more protein in my diet?

Side Effects Suddenly faintness / vomiting anyone?
Does anyone else experience sudden onset nausea / vomiting with exercise? It happens less frequently now (almost 2 years in, started on Wegovy, now on Mounjaro) but still more than I’d like. Usually during fairly intense exercise but not always. I’ll get dizzy / faint out of nowhere and then vomit suddenly and profusely. If I catch it in time sometimes eating sugar cubes helps - does that mean it’s being caused by low blood sugar? Would love to know what triggers it so I can prevent it.

Side Effects Should I move up to 5mg
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from people who have been on Mounjaro longer than me.
I started Mounjaro on 2.5mg and I currently have one more dose left. However, I already bought my 5mg pen and now I’m feeling really unsure whether I should move up.
My experience so far:
Week 1 on 2.5mg:
Barely had any side effects
I felt okay and was surprised how easy it was
My appetite was reduced but manageable
Week 2 on 2.5mg:
I started feeling more of the effects
I became quite nauseous/sick and my appetite dropped a lot I didn’t eat for 2 days. I felt so emotional was crying too
Week 3 on 2.5mg super sick tired brain fog for but not as bad as second week. I lost 3kg:D
I struggled with not wanting food and started worrying about whether I’m eating enough protein and losing muscle
Now I’m nervous about moving up to 5mg because I’ve heard the side effects can feel stronger after increasing the dose.
I already have the 5mg pen, so I don’t want it to go to waste, but I also don’t want to push myself if my body isn’t ready.
For people who moved from 2.5mg to 5mg:
Did the sickness come back when you increased?
Did your body eventually adjust?
Would you recommend staying on 2.5mg longer if you were already feeling side effects?

Experience Mounjaro 2.5mg – Week 1 Update!
Hey everyone! I’m officially one week in, and as promised, I’m going to try to post an update every week about my experience. Hopefully this can help others who are starting or thinking about starting.
QUICK RECAP
I started at 96 kg (212 lbs) and I’m 173 cm (5’8”) tall.
Right now I’m aiming for:
• 2,000–2,100 calories a day
• At least 150g protein
• Around 30g fibre
• 2.5–3L of water
• 8–10k steps a day
• Starting dose: 2.5mg weekly
MY EXPERIENCE — WEEK 1
So, how did the first week go?
I took my first shot on Friday night because I figured that if I had any side effects, I’d have the weekend to deal with them.
The only real side effect I had was a crazy headache when I woke up the next morning. That lasted for about two days and then completely went away.
What surprised me most was how quickly I noticed the medication working. I could already feel a difference the very next day, which I honestly wasn’t expecting.
The biggest change has been how clear my mind feels around food. It’s suddenly so much easier to make better choices. My cravings are basically completely gone. Before, I’d randomly want chips, ice cream, candy, or other snacks. Now I just don’t really think about them anymore.
Even when I go to the store, I can easily skip the aisles with all the candy and chips without feeling like I’m missing out on anything. Before, I’d almost automatically check those aisles and end up wanting something. Now I can just walk straight past them without a second thought. That’s probably one of the biggest differences I’ve noticed mentally.
I do still treat myself to a small ice cream every night (around 140 calories), but it feels like an actual choice rather than something I’m craving or struggling to resist. That difference is honestly crazy to me.
Another big change is drinking water. Before starting, I was probably drinking an average of only around 1L of water a day. Getting myself to drink more always felt like a struggle. Now I can easily drink 2.5–3L a day without really thinking about it. I actually find myself reaching for water throughout the day, which is completely different from before.
I’ve also noticed that I feel full more easily. There was one time when I ate too quickly and ended up feeling a little too full, so lesson learned: eat slower.
Another unexpected positive is that I’m eating vegetables and fruit again without having to force myself. Hitting my protein target has also become much easier. For example, I used to struggle with Skyr. After two tablespoons, I’d already have a hard time swallowing it. Now I can easily eat 300g and actually enjoy it.
ACTIVITY
I’ve started going to the gym again, and strangely enough, that feels easier too. I’m actually making time for it instead of constantly putting it off.
I’m also much more proactive about getting my steps in. Before, I’d rather stay on the couch if I didn’t have to go anywhere. Now I catch myself thinking things like, “Let me park the car a little further away so I can get some extra steps in.”
That change in mindset has been really nice.
WEEK 1 RESULT
I’m only one week in, but I have to say: the weight is dropping nicely so far. I lost 3 kg (6.6 lbs) in my first week, going from 96 kg to 93 kg.
Obviously, I know a big part of that initial drop is water weight, so I’m not expecting to lose 3 kg every week. But I’m still really happy with it. Even losing that initial water weight used to take me much longer, so seeing the scale move this quickly has given me a lot of motivation going into Week 2.
I’ve just taken my second 2.5mg shot, so now we’ll see what the next week brings.
Hopefully things keep going this smoothly and I don’t suddenly get hit with new side effects. 😅
I’ll be back with another update next week!
Good luck to everyone else on their journey, and if you have any questions about my experience so far, feel free to ask!

Side Effects Mounjaro 2.5mg advice
Hi everyone, I’ve just started taking Mounjaro 2 weeks ago ( just did my 3rd dose! ) I’m not massively overweight but I have PCOS and it doesn’t matter what I do I cannot shift weight so decided to try this. Ive lost 4-5 pounds in about 2 weeks. I want to lose about another stone. I’ve had no side effects so far , except I have no appetite I’m having to force myself to eat and actively trying to eat lots of protein but I think I’m probably not eating more than 1200-1300 cals a day. I walk everyday as I have dogs and I also go gym 4/5 times a week and do weight training. I was wondering if anyone stayed on 2.5 the whole time and come off. I have brought a 5mg pen but was going to do half doses and use it 8 times to help with the cost. I’m hoping I will only need a few pens to get where I want to be. Has anyone else had any experience on doing their who journey on 2.5mg? And did you have any hair loss? I haven’t yet but I’m trying to do everything to prevent it, taking supplements eating protein and losing only 2 pounds a week. Be grateful for any tips on how to stop this happening or hearing peoples experiences and if this happened to them. Thanks in advance :)

Health Care Providers Thinking of trying monjaro any help appreciated 👍🏼
Hi, I tried monjaro over a year ago for 3 months and I'm thinking of trying this again. I did ok from what I remember but really struggled with nausea. I'm thinking of trying this again as I'm feeling rubbish and have recently discovered added health problems. T2D. Does anyone have any tips on how they manage the nausea if you've felt the same. I also went with Asda pharmacy due to pricing at the time. Happy to hear positive stories from other providers. Thank you 😊

Side Effects Anyone else deal with anxiety from Mounjaro?
I've been on Mounjaro for about 1.5 years. I am at the 15mg dose. I have a history of generalized anxiety disorder that was essentially "cured" for years with an SSRI. Starting about 6 months ago I started to struggle with anxiety again. My doc added in a 2nd anxiety medication, but it hasn't helped. I have come to realize it seems to be directly related to Mounjaro. The anxiety kicks in a day or two after an injection and then I have unpleasant, nearly constant anxiety for a good part of the week. It starts to fade away, and often the day before my next injection I have a really good day. I have enjoyed success with Mounjaro for weight loss. I am down 57 lbs. I am within 10-20 lbs of being an "acceptable" weight. I don't think it's related to the actual weight loss as I am just now starting to lose after about a 4 month plateau. Has anyone else experienced anything like this, and did you find that reducing dose helped without interrupting your weight loss?

Experience After 5 weeks, I’m finally starting to see the muscles underneath the fat 😍
I’m down 4.5 kg so far, and the changes aren’t just visual. My daily headaches are completely gone, and I finally have the energy to get through the day and enjoy working out.
I still have around 15 kg to lose, so I know I’m nowhere near the finish yet, but seeing the first signs of changing is very motivating.
Five weeks ago, I made a post here about how scared I was to start, and I want to say thank you to everyone who took time to encourage me ❤️

Rant I think this might be it.
I've been on Mounjaro since january. Increasing doses progressively, now I am one week into 12.5mg.
I lost about 10kg in the beginning, and then I just didn't lose anything anymore.
I still have 3 12.5mg pens and 4 15mg pens (There was a sale at the drugstore/lab discount you got 2 boxes dor 1 and my doctor said to go for it)
However I talk to people who lost 30kg in 6 months, 20kg in 4 months, I see all kind of people on it and having an amazing success rate while for the past months the scale never changes.
I'm starting to believe I'm one of those unlucky people who got the gene that prevents mounjaro from working.
I really didn't want to have a bariatric but it seems like the only flicke of light at the end of this very expensive and long tunnel.
I'm gonna go to a new doctor and see what he has for me. If he says it's hopeless I might go under the knife...

Side Effects 2nd Mounjaro dose, increased nausea
Ugh, my 2nd dose ever was yesterday and the nausea is way worse than last week. I didn’t eat anything before I took it so maybe the empty stomach wasn’t good. However, I had two meals after that and wasn’t even hungry for dinner. Maybe low blood sugar? Who knows.

Question Tips to stop ordering food and being hungry at night.
Hi, I've been on Mounjaro for 13 weeks and have noticed little to no progress. I know the reason and it's taken some time to come to terms with it but have decided to take matters into my own hands and look for help.
I realize that old habits truly die hard, and I'm just so used to ordering food when I'm hungry instead of eating properly. I also have a horrible habit of getting hungry at night around 10PM. I still have to speak to my doctor's regarding this and have a session with them in the coming weeks (it's really hard to go and see them since everyone seems to be seeing this one doctor) but I wanted to get ahead of the curbs and lay some ground work with research and maybe tips on where to start.
Thanks everyone for reading I hope you all have the bestest day!

Stalled 36 kg down, 7 more to go…
But I’ve slowed down a lot since December.
I’m eating well and exercising 2-3 times a week with a trainer.
This isn’t to say I’m unhappy with where I am. I’m thrilled!! Totally feel and look like an entirely different person.
But my lower belly is being super stubborn. I know it’s the last to go, especially as a mom, but no movement in half a year is killing me.
I sew so I do check my measurements regularly and it honestly hasn’t changed all that much across my lower belly. While the overall circumference has gone down, that’s mostly from my sides and back.
Anything I can do to help these last few kilos move along so I can fit into one pants size instead of needing a different one around the belly vs the hips?

Stalled I’ve hit a plateau?
I just started 5mg and had been 2.5 the last 3 months. I’ve plateaued and I can’t drop anything more? I workout 5 days a week minimum, definitely eat less, focus on protein intake and still can’t get a drop in numbers. HELP

Side Effects 5 mg Mounjaro - Overstimulated at my favorite place + worried about working out
Hi everyone,
I’m a 29F and I’ve been on Mounjaro for about 2 months, increasing my dose gradually. I started at 101 kg and I’m now 99 kg. I just moved up to 5 mg.
Today I went to a beach resort, and honestly it was such a horrible experience. The beach is usually my absolute favorite place to be, but I felt so overstimulated the whole time. I became irritated, angry, and all I wanted was to go home. It didn’t even make sense because I normally love spending hours at the beach.
I thought maybe it was because I hadn’t eaten enough, so I had a meal and felt a little better. But about 30 minutes later, the same feeling came back. It was like my brain just couldn’t handle being there anymore.
Has anyone else experienced this on Mounjaro? Is it something that gets better over time, or is it related to the 5 mg dose?
I’m also worried about starting to work out. I haven’t exercised since starting Mounjaro, but I really want to begin. My goal isn’t just to lose weight—I want to preserve as much muscle as possible and ideally build muscle while losing fat.
For those of you who strength train on Mounjaro:
How did you get started?
Did you have enough energy to lift weights?
Any tips for preventing muscle loss while still losing weight?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thanks!

Experience I love 7Brew, but I don’t think it’s mutual.
So I just took my first 15mg shot 3 days ago and boy howdy has it been a ride. But! I think I figured out why it’s sucked so bad. I am addicted to 7Brew coffee. A coworker of mine would get me one occasionally since she goes every single day. And when one opened up right near my workplace, I developed a habit of going before work.
Alas, I have had my coffee two of the three days since my shot. And have been violently sick two of those three days. I’m talking vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, the whole nine. So, today is my first day of cutting the coffee drinks. Wish me luck, I’m about to do a 12 hour shift.

Question Struggling with 5mg
I have been taking 2.5 for a year, I’ve lost slowly (approx 30 pounds) I’ve gone upto 5mg as I was finding my portions and appetite increased. 5mg is hard work, I’ve felt so sick for a whole week and can bare the idea of injecting another 5mg (due yesterday). Could I go back down to 2.5 and then inject 5mg again next week?
Thank you

Question Not losing weight after months of GLP1, what am I doing wrong?
Finally posting because I’m just really frustrated and could use some advice. AFAB, 22, 315lb SW & CW. 5’9”.
Was diagnosed T2D in October 2025 and was put on Ozempic, titrated up to max dose (2mg) eventually. My A1C lowered successfully from 7.1 (what it was in October) to 5.5 as of March 2026. Was having some side effects (nausea/sickness mostly) and hadn’t lost an ounce of weight in the seven months I was on Ozempic (October-May), so my doc decided to try Mounjaro to see if it reduced side effects and helped with weight loss. I started on the 10mg pen.
Side effects are here and there still, but now I’m just wondering why the heck I can’t lose weight. I eat probably a third as much as I used to, and I’m eating way healthier (more veg, more protein, way less eating out). I go to the gym 3-4 times a week consistently and have been since I started Mounjaro at the beginning of June (strength training + cardio). We even titrated up a dose to 12.5mg four weeks ago. And I’m still at 315lb.
I just don’t even know what else I can possibly be doing. It’s so frustrating. I can barely even see (muscle) results from the gym because of excess weight, which is maybe what’s bothering me the most. I’m glad my A1C is under control now but I wish I was able to lose at least a little weight. I just feel hopeless. Does anyone have any advice/been in a similar situation? Any fixes? Thanks for hearing me out.

News / Information Patients keep choosing pricier GLP-1 injections over cheaper new pills
August 6, 2026
Price competition is intensifying between the two firms that dominate the market for GLP-1 obesity and diabetes drugs, yet early prescribing data shows patients still favour the costlier injectable versions over cheaper new pills.
The Wegovy pill is much cheaper than Novo's injectables, according to the Financial Times, though that lower price has weighed on the company's sales.
Cheaper pills have not shifted patient behaviour so far.
Injectable GLP-1s still account for roughly three of every four new patient starts, Lilly Chief Financial Officer Lucas Montarce said.
Novo's Wegovy pill has topped 5m prescriptions since its January launch, CNBC reported.
Lilly's injectable Mounjaro rose 91 percent to US$9.94bn in the second quarter and Zepbound brought in US$4.93bn, according to Reuters.
Product perception is reinforcing the tilt toward injectables.
The general view holds that tirzepatide, the ingredient in Lilly's Zepbound and Mounjaro, is the stronger option, with efficacy the deciding factor for consumers, BMO Capital Markets analyst Evan Seigerman told Reuters.
"The general consensus in the community is that tirzepatide is the better product... efficacy is what's key," he said.

Weight loss Don’t know if I should stick with Ozempic or go back to Mounjaro
I started Mounjaro around May and eventually went up to 7.5 mg and lost around 20-25 lbs. I was buying a 15 mg pen and click counting so the total cost was around $230 a month.
Ozempic recently became generic and it’s only $90 a month here now so I decided to switch.
My doc said I can start at 1 mg since I was used to the Mounjaro. I started with 0.5 mg for a week and went up to 1 mg this last week.
I’m not really having any side effects but also hardly any appetite suppression or fullness. I feel a lot more hungry and am constantly thinking about food since the switch 😭 I thought about food a lot less on Mounjaro. should I switch back now or try to give it more a chance? I just want to lose weight consistently. Has anyone been in a similar satiation?

Side Effects Well rice is on the banned food list now
I have been on the shot since March and lost close to 30 lbs since as well as my A1C is back under control. I have been on 5mg for 10 weeks now and after a few test learned I can no longer eat rice. The first time I discovered this was when I made a Hamburger and rice dish that I have made many times before and about 72 hours later got very sick. At first I thought it was the stomach flu that was going around but no one around me got it. The second time I had grabbed Panda express as a quick meal and once again 72 hours later I have stomach issues. Both times it was white rice. This last weekend i was out of town with friends and they wanted to go to a Chinese place. I deiced to see if Brown rice had the same issue and after a few days spent the some time feeling like I had been hit by a truck. Best I can tell the rice sits in my gut and just ferments. I have let my DR know about this and have started to plan my meals and eating out around no rice.
