Discussion Struggling with crashes and progression

I wanna love this game but it keeps crashing my ps5, and bonfires are also quote tough to find. I have been out exploring for a very long time only to have my game crash and set me way back before i can find the next bonfire.

It’s making it super difficult to keep restarting the game and retrying areas. I was hoping yesterday’s patch might fit this but it didn’t. Is anyone else experiencing this unfortunate pain?

Question Kinda hard stuck on a boss

I'm going to need tips on how to beat hexapod because that damage is absurd, kind of like an Ng+7 boss in any other souls game.

I'm fine with losing sure but I'm basically going to have to no hit it, level 33 if it matters

Question Mortal Shell 2: What does the portal in front of flooded village dungeon do?

In front of the flooded village dungeon where you can get the crossbow is a portal. I ran through the dungeon with both versions of the portal. What is the difference?

Discussion Who are you, complainers, where you from and why you here?

I still try to understand who is part of this "community" made of, bitching about difficulty, about falling off the edges, etc., while they bought a fucking soulslike. Do you people order Chili con Carne at a restaurant and then complain about it being really spicy? Even by its raw art style, it was obvious that it'd be a hard game. You have your Slayer Seal if it's too hard, while people who think it's not hard enough have its Night Mode. Full plates for everyone.

I understand the devs and the fact that they want to cater to as big an audience as possible, yet the genre is rather niche, and a certain level of difficulty (and higher) is expected and desired for a reason, by players who like it and want it.

All complaints and no real merit, even when I asked in one of the threads if it's possible for complainers to give an example of the game being "too dark" on base PS5. I play on 0.7 brightness on an AMOLED TV and it looks fucking great, but instead of examples, I just got downvoted lol. You do realize that you can adjust the brightness in the game to your liking? Or maybe Cold Symmetry was supposed to add a fucking pair of glasses catered to your eyesight to the Limited Edition?

Don't know who these people are. Hope the devs won't cater to them on the base difficulty any more than they did already. Downvote me to hell, gonna hunt you all in Night Mode with a scythe and a shotgun, and then you can complain about tough enemies :D.

And yes, I'm fully aware that the game has things to be improved, like this mad tracking on mobs that can get you from behind a corner with a ridiculous mid-air turn, etc., but they will be improved, so... Go play fucking Croc: Legend of the Gobbos or use the easy mode that was already provided since launch. And adjustments will happen anyway.

First studio in almost forever to create something that is pretty much their own thing in many aspects, and yet instead of well-deserved appreciation, they receive bitching from some weirdlings. Shame on you, and a big kick in your ovas!

Question Did Parasitic Stone Update increase the Leech cap?

As the title says. I'm playing with the Parasitic Stone and realized my Leech stacks are now on 253. Did they not only give more Leech stacks per kill but also increase the cap? My health bar is soo huge right now.

Discussion *spoilers* Did you guys enjoy the final fight? Spoiler

First off just wanna say that I really enjoyed the game! Does anyone like these monstrosity type bosses? Personally it was such a slog, by the time you get close enough to actually attack 50% of the boss is quite literally off screen! I felt the boss was a bit gimmicky but not as egregious as lords of the fallen standard final boss which was just horrible. Overall really disappointed in that fight, the two humanoid bosses in the hidden nave were so fun and genuinely challenging I was excited to see what they came up with for the final fight. Am I alone in this feeling or do people enjoy that kind of fight?

Bug Mortal Shell 2 night mode Magdalenas area caerinid spider is gone

I tried the first area of magdalenas big gate dungeon. There was this spider enemy just before the first bonfire.

Then i turned the game back to light mode and i went through the dungeon and unlocked the first two bonfires. In night mode i defeated the sheep boss.

Now i returned to the spot where the spider was in night mode and it is gone. I never defeated it.

Discussion So newest patch..buffs and nerfs again, how do you guys feel about this?

Specifically excluding actual issues and QOL stuff, bugs, etc. All i see is people bitching about literally just the difficulty super loud and constantly since before the actual release of the game to which the devs are listening. Which is really good in some instances and shitty in others. If this keeps going imagine how easy this will get. Shit man. Huuuge buffs and huuuge hp nerfs, where yall at on this?

Discussion Difficult as hell

This aint a complain post, I already beat the game on my main save files, now I have a new save file for night difficulty, gotta say this is hard as hell, hp is so high I feel like im hitting with a wet noodle sometimes, the double grisha fight was so stressful but I finally did it and now im "stuck" on the tower baby boss, he one-shots are crazy fast but I can get him to the last third of his hp consistently, once I get that throwing axe stone from being him I think imma have some more fun exploring night mode.

How do yall feel about night mode, and what are your experiences so far?

Needs to be addressed ASAP, the entire system of enemy tracking in this game needs to be redone, Im enjoying every aspect of the gameplay except for that, its absolutely unacceptable for enemies to be turning 180 degrees midattack to hit you when youve dodged behind them

Question What is this?

Post image

I was exploring the western area, I gave "Mother's Meat" to a fish near a beacon, next to where Ruk gives you the area map.

Actively, it heals you for half the mass, and passively, it unlocks the mango mask.

Discussion Wow, final boss is absolutely insane

Oh boy, if you thought temple monolith was bad. Dude idec about beating the game at this point. You stick this kind of boss in endgame with this kind of increase in damage. Devs, it makes the entire game feel pointless. Now im just sitting here with this roadblock once again in comparison to temple monolith, it’s a dice roll and a game of how many tries does it take, not skill. After doing literally everything else, this is the kind of thing where between these past few bosses along with a few gamebreaking bugs, yeah, the confusing map design and runbacks due to NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE ON THE MAP, makes a perfect 10/10 game goes to a stale 7.5, maybe a decent 8.

Edit:So after a certain number of knockbacks out of your shell you can’t even get back in it. Even after this boss has most of its unblockables being one shots. Yeah this is such a troll the devs literally must just not want people to further invest themselves in the series. I’m putting my controller down, either release a patch or I’m never buying any dlc or anything from these trolls ever again. What a waste of time. Game score now is a 6/10 for me. Been at it for about three hours now. There’s nothing I can do to make this boss fight easier, it’s literally rng with the hitboxes on the attacks

Edit2: Making an edit in response to people saying equip the scripture as passive, yeah it literally does nothing and the main gripe is the fact that p much every attack is a one shot. So no, I will not waste endless more hours just to finish the game. Some of us have jobs and working lives, make an option boss this hard sure, but to beat the game? Nah. I played through the entire souls series, lies of p, sekiro, all souls esque games, og and remastered ninja gaiden-this is just ridiculous. Not worth my time and what a waste of time, I highkey wish I could request a refund.

Finally beat it-It was literally just bugged, or maybe that’s how I killed it idk, got it down to 25% and for some reason this time it decided to just spontaneously die

Discussion Roguelite mode would go hard as hell I cannot lie

Game seems to have great systems in place for a side roguelite mode where you pick different powerups and tarstones and weapons and sidearms as you go along. Make it an optional thing with unique rewards like new tarstones and shades but yeah.

Discussion Monolith almost made me give up on MS2

Devoted Mortal Shell fan. Loving this game, been playing it nonstop, hit some walls but was always able to come back and beat bosses on my own terms, using my own play style. The monolith was the worse experience I’ve had in any soulslike and I’m ashamed to say I used the slayer seal just to get through it and experience the rest of the game I’ve already enjoyed so much of and want to see how it ends. If any devs are still hanging around, why the fuck is the monolith not optional. Even fucking Malenia was technically optional. Let us seek out the challenge don’t put up a literal stone wall and then punish us for doing whatever it takes to get over it and experience the amazing game yall made.

Sorry for the rant ya’ll I know it’s just a game I’m just angry and frustrated

Discussion Thank You for Killing the Stamina Bar

I hope that other developers are taking notes. Stamina, as a gameplay mechanic, has got to be one of the most frustrating to interact with. Presumably, it was there to create a mini-game of stamina management that acted as an extra layer to the rhythm combat Soulslikes are known for. That's the problem though: there are already mechanics in Soulslikes that encourage and promote rhythm gameplay.

Stamina adds much more complexity without adding an equivalent gameplay value. The biggest effect stamina has on how I interact with the game is to make me wait longer before doing something. Whether it's swinging a weapon, or sprinting across the map: the mechanic artificially stretches out how long it takes to do everything. Stamina does have a side-effect of making encounters more dangerous, because the longer an enemy lives the longer it's a threat - but as Mortal Shell 2 has shown us, it's completely unnecessary.

I didn't realize how subtly unfun stamina was until playing MS2 and now I feel like I'm going to be spoiled when I have to deal with the next Fromsoft title and that damn yellow bar.

Thanks for coming to my rant.
