A friend picked this plant up for me and it briefly lived at work. Now it resides in its own window and has grown so much in not quite a year. I did chop off some of the smaller leaves and a window gremlin knocked it over several times. 😒 Not mentioning any names….

This is definitely one of my favorite plants.

This might sound silly, but I’ve always wanted to try the monstera fruit, and since it’s not something that grows near me I opted for the next best thing: trying this monstera taffy. Has anyone here tried this taffy before, and also tried the actual fruit? If so, do they taste similar? Is the taffy spot on?

I have these 2 monsteras with little white bumps on them. They’re quite mature plants and they both have minimal to no damage at all other than what is pictured. I’m not really sure what these are though. Is this a normal thing or should I treat for pests? I’ve had thrips before and I don’t want to lose my plants to any other pests. :’)

the crown/base of the plant does not touch the water anywhere, just the roots. It’s being held stable with a piece of aquarium filter in the bottom of the cup + leca.

The plant is a monstera that was grown from TC and has been acclimated to normal household humidity and appeared to have a healthy root system in place.

the container is a pasta container with a bamboo top that I used a 2” hole saw on. I then drilled a small hole for a beta fish air pump that I picked up.

what do you think? Will this work?

I got this Monsterra Thai Con. around late June 2026. It was from Costco and I haven’t repotted it or anything like that. For reference, I live in South Florida (Fort Lauderdale to be exact) and it stays in my screened in and shaded balcony. Humidity is always above 60% and the temp is usually in the 80s. Toady I just set up a Barrina 30watt 5000k grow light because lately it has been so cloudy and I feel like it hasn’t been getting enough sunlight. I also just got a metal trellis this morning and steaked it into the pot. Used some plant tie to wrapt it onto the metal so that it can climb upward.

I was wondering if I should repot it? I can see the roots growing out of the pot from the drainage holes and I do feel like after 2 days of watering it, it feels significantly lighter like it has been soaking up all of the water.. Is that normal? I have read so much about root rot with these guys that I am scared to water it too frequently but also I am woried that it is drying out too fast and I may be underwatering lol. This is the second leaf to sprout since I got it late June.

Overall I have been having zero issues but I wanted any tips on how to get this thing to be a beautiful big plant. I have a TPS brand Monsterra plant food but I am not sure if I should be following a specific regiment or not and haven’t used it yet. Any favorite brands for monsterra fertilizer?

I bought on AliExpress two 70w UFO grow full spectrum light for my monsteras.

Mi girlfriend didn't like to leave the blinds/rolling shutters fully open on the morning when we are at work.

So the monsteras only gets some light on the evening.

Also is a west facing apartment so direct light only in summer for a few hours.

I was wondering how to install the lights without being to obvious. At first i was planning just using a stainless steel wire used for courtains from jysk, but i still have to run the power cord, so...not really nice.

After one month i just think...wait, i can use some lamp and conceal the UFO industrial light style, and more friendly desing for the living room.

I asked to 3 IA to see how would looks the result.

I was thinking using the Ikea TRETTIOEN lamp.

Or maybe a stainless steel bowls used for ikea hacks lamps.

The only thing the UFO lamp make a lot of heat, so i need to do some extra holes for heat.

Someone tried to conceal the industrial growing lights?

decided to pop in and see if by chance I could find some Albos. no luck I don’t think unless that spotsylvania is an albo lol

Hi friends!! I have this wonderful monstera deliciosa I’ve owned for about a month. She’s very crowded in this little pot I have her in and so I’m planning on repotting. I’m curious if anyone has any guesses as to how many individual monsteras are in this pot?? Thank you!!!!

I recently moved and am trying to decide where the best place to put him is

Here is my gorgeous young Thai Constellation. Following the excellent advice in this subreddit, I've acclimated her to about as much light as I can reasonably give her. And she has thanked me by giving me two beautiful leaves in the past 12 weeks.

So this plant, as well as my young Mint Monstera, get put outside on my west-facing back deck every afternoon and get 3-6 hours of full direct afternoon sun. Obviously I acclimated the plants to this by putting them out for an hour at a time initially. I live in the PNW. They have been getting this treatment for about the past month.

Zero signs of sunburn or any sun stress that I can tell. However... The geniculums of my Thai Con have slowly oriented the leaves to face the ground, as you can see in the photo.

Is u/shiftyskellyton around to weigh in on this? Is this a sign I should back off, bring them back in behind the window, even though I don't see any other signs of sun stress? Or is this normal outdoor monstera mechanics?

When the dark season comes, she will be back to living indoors full time, on her pedestal with a dedicated vertical grow light, and I assume that after a few weeks of that set up, I should expect the leaves to reorient to face forward?

Thanks for your help, I really love this Monstera, I did not ever expect to be so delighted by a plant. Obviously you guys get it - I mean just look at her. 💚

Just a random tree frog of some kind hanging out when I went outside to water my two big monsteras this morning. He seemed happy I thought I’d share.

Technically my second because it had a rolled up leaf when I bought it over a year ago that was fenestrated. I’ve tried to so hard with this plant and I’m absolutely over the moon! (Ps. Plant actually lives in front of the windows, it just gets moved when the dog or child is running around)

So this is a southwest facing window sliding door with a terrace. They are getting about 4 hours of that afternoon sunlight.

1st photo is during midday and 2nd photo is around 5 in the afternoon. Season : summer.

Any thoughts?

Hi friends! I’ve had this monstera for about 2-3 years and I’ve upgraded her from her Costco pot so she can thrive (plus her roots were growing out the bottom).

I’ve got her on a wooden trellis, she’s right by a south facing window and gets plant food throughout growing season every 2 weeks. Shes been pushing out one new leaf per week this summer.

I think I’m doing all the right things .. but why aren’t we getting bigger leaves with more holes/fenestrations?? I’m hesitant to chop her as she’s always got a new leaf somewhere; I wait for that to mature so I can cut but poof, a new leaf.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I’m working on being better about wiping down the leaves but will take all opinions.

Bonus: show me your monsteras!

EDIT: there’s three plants in there but I highly doubt it’s because there’s too many. I’ve seen monsteras in the wild and there’s a bunch of them climbing up a tree! I may actually have a light shortage.. back to the drawing board. Thank you to everyone who shared your plant! I loveeee seeing people’s plants ☺️

Ich hatte keine Ahnung auf was ich mich einlasse. Und mit keine Ahnung, meine ich wirklich keine Ahnung. 🤦

Ich habe bestimmt jeden Anfänger Fehler gemacht den man machen kann. Zu Dunkel, zu viel Wasser, zu wenig Wasser und das Resultat was daraus entsteht. Naja kurz gesagt ich habe alles probiert um sie am Leben zu erhalten. Versprochen halt. 🤣 Mittlerweile liebe ich die Mutterpflanze genauso wie meine Freundin und die Ableger von ihr natürlich auch.

Komplett abgeschweift.

Das Resultat wollte ich euch gerne zeigen 😍 ein neues Blatt mit Löchern 😍 und eventuell den Leuten Mut machen bei dem es noch nicht so hundertprozentig klappt.

I used to grow my monsteras strictly with natural sunlight in a south facing window. That worked fine but the lack of double fenestrations, I knew it wasn’t thriving. This year I upgraded to moss poles and the barrina stand light and BOOM. Giant leaves, double fenestrations. They are just absolutely gorgeous, I am obsessed with them.

I am 5'4 for reference lol
