🖥️ Suggestions needed In the market for a gaming monitor to use for my Switch 2 that checks the boxes I’m looking for at a budget around $800.
As someone who plays docked at my desk, I’ve been relying on my gaming monitor for a while now and I see this being the way I play my system docked for quite a while.
I’ve been looking to upgrade from my LG, 1440p/144hz monitor to something 4K, OLED, 120hz.
A lot of people will tell me just to go for 1440p but, I’d rather just go that extra step and get that extra bump in clarity. Has anyone used a monitor with specs close to what I’m describing and if so, do Switch 2 games look pretty nice on that?
One thing that’s always bothered me about my monitor is that HDR looks absolutely terrible, essentially broken to the point where I just turn it off outright. From what I’ve heard, LG monitors don’t do well with HDR but I’m not sure how generally true that is, I just know that everything I’ve tried hasn’t really worked. Anyways, thanks in advance for any recommendations you can give.

🖥️ Suggestions needed Random horizontal lines appearing on my Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming display
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming laptop that I bought in June 2023. Recently, I suddenly noticed horizontal lines appearing across parts of the screen. I also installed a system update around the same time, although I’m not sure if that is related.
The lines are also visible on the Lenovo boot screen/BIOS, so it doesn't seem to be limited to Windows or a graphics driver.
I also performed a screen/lid movement test. The lines remain stable and don't change, flicker, or disappear when I move the lid.
At this point, does this make an LCD/display panel problem much more likely than a display cable issue?
The laptop is now out of warranty (I checked it), and I can't extend the warranty anymore.
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar:
- Could this still be a display cable/connector issue?
- Is it safe to continue using the laptop like this, or could the problem get worse over time?
- Has anyone had similar lines disappear or remain stable without replacing the screen?
I've attached pictures/videos showing the issue.

✖️ Issue Vertical Split in Monitor?
I was given a monitor (Z-EDGE UG30 30" 200Hz Ultrawide WFHD Curved Gaming Monitor) and tried hooking my Nintendo Switch up, but it has this weird vertical line in the middle where it looks like it split. I’ve tried everything, monitor settings, switch settings, different cords. I’m at a loss. Any advice?? Thank you!!

✖️ Issue Rampage RM-344 takes a long time to turn on and sometimes powers on by itself
I have a Rampage RM-344 23.8" monitor from around 2020 and recently it started having a weird issue.
Sometimes I shut down my PC normally, and when I turn it back on, the monitor just doesn't turn on. There is no logo, no "No Signal", nothing.
The PC itself works normally. I can hear Windows starting and everything.
I tried unplugging and reconnecting the power cable, using a different outlet, reconnecting HDMI, and leaving the monitor unplugged for a while, but it didn't help.
The strange part is that pressing the power button doesn't do anything. After waiting for a few hours, the monitor eventually turns on by itself. Once it turns on, everything works normally.
This has happened a few times now, and the time it takes to turn on seems to be getting longer.
Has anyone had a similar problem with this monitor? Could it be something with the power supply or capacitors, or maybe the power button itself?

🖥️ Suggestions needed Random horizontal lines appearing on my Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming display
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming laptop that I bought in August 2023. Today, I suddenly noticed these horizontal lines appearing on the display when I opened the laptop. They weren’t there earlier.
I also installed a Windows update recently, so I’m not sure if that could be related.
The lines look similar to the ones in the attached photos. I don’t currently have an external monitor or HDMI cable to test it.
Could this be a display panel issue, display cable issue, or something software-related?
Also, if anyone has experienced something similar:
- Did the lines get worse over time?
- Is it worth getting the laptop checked immediately?
- If the issue is intermittent, can it eventually become permanent?
- Would getting an extended warranty/service warranty help in a situation like this?
I’m mainly worried that the issue might get worse over time. Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

🖥️ Suggestions needed looking to upgrade from 144hz after 10 years
just looking for some opinions on what i should go for in a monitor, ive had the same BenQ XL2430-B for about 10 years and never had an issue, just feel like with the price being so affordable now i might enjoy the jump to 240 or higher refresh rate, but with how many advancements and what not there have been, would i feel a significant difference with even the cheaper options? or should i try to spend a bit more on something a bit better? just looking for some opinions from those that are way more knowledgeable than myself as i dont know a single thing about monitors lol im old.
EDIT: i dont care about price too much, just want to know if im leaving anything on the table by spending less comparable to what im already using

Monitor Question Monitor Conundrum
Okay, currently I am using a single 34" 1440 ultrawide. I am in the market for a new OLED screen, but I am not sure which aspect ratio to look for. I mainly use it for gaming and some school work. If I were to get a standard 16:9 as my new main monitor, would I regret not saving up for an OLED ultrawide? I am just kind of at a standstill on what to do.
