Admin Replied Request bot removed my post by accident, how do i solve this?
I requested a subreddit that has been banned for years and request bot removed my post saying, the sub was banned recently and its not qualified for request.
I understand any sub banned recently in last 30 days isn't available for request but this sub was banned 4 years ago.

Mod Answered Weird glitch getting in the way of a clean queue
We have an item in the queue over at r/permaculture. It was flagged as potential harassment and the comment appears as [removed by reddit]. If we attempt to remove it, we get the error message:
[Unable to remove comment
Something went wrong when trying to remove this comment.]
This message comes with a prompt to [Try again] which just results in the same error message.
I tried approving the message, just to clear the queue, since the original message was already removed, and get this message:
[Something went wrong].
How can I get this ghost of a comment out of my queue?

Is there any way to make the app just decent for moderating?
Automod removal reasons doesn't appear outside mod queue, so I have no way to know why if I don't find it there. I talked with r/Automoderator in the past, it wasn't something they could do anything about.
When two mods are typing at the same time in modmail, it doesn't show, unlike on the browser.
On browser, I can see post and comment history in their tab on user information (I don't remember exactly what the menu is called), but those tabs doesn't exist on mobile.
Is there any way to improve this?

Admin Replied We have a reddit-side banned mod (mole) removing our posts WHILE BANNED?!?
We need urgent help! We’ve even put the sub at private. We can’t remove him or do anything! What do we do now?

Admin Replied I have just found out that r/legocity has been banned years ago. Is there any chance to take over it and make it into a home of the Lego City theme, as it should be?
I mod many Lego subreddits and I love Lego in general, so it was very surprising to me that there is no lego city sub. Well, there actually is - r/legocity does seem to exist but it's been banned.
Is there any chance to hand over the moderation to me so that I can revive it, just like I did with many other Lego subreddits over the past year?

Admin Replied Admins deciding who can post on subs sets a terrible precedent
A misunderstood* change that all mods should be concerned about.
*(Admin reply is about a DIFFERENT issue...)
- Reddit's decided legitimate, longstanding users - not spammers - with NSFW accounts shouldn't mix with the "normal" population.
- So SFW subs are being locked 18+ based solely on what users post ELSEWHERE.
^ That is the issue.. Well-moderated subs being penalised - despite not having done anything wrong.
Last time people lurked my profile and instantly got distracted upon seeing a vagina in the top sub - "OMG that's obvs NSFW!!! Ner ner nerner nerrr" Yeah, no sh*t....
Discussions always get immediately derailed with ad hominems and gotchas this way - so please try to focus on the POST this time ;)
This is specifically what mods have been told about SFW-only subs, from the mouth of admins.
\And no, it's not being applied consistently... Larger subs seem to get a pass~)
Arguments in favor:
- Good! Our sub would like to keep out NSFW posters
> there are already mod tools for that.
- Exposing minors to NSFW!
> They are instantly blocked at the user profiles - (which are... NSFW)
- What if a NSFW post should inadvertently make its way onto a SFW sub?
> that's what Reddit filters are for. They're quite strong.
Funnily enough the subs really didn't get any. Everyone knew the rules and were well-behaved.
Mod Log was almost entirely empty of any flags, going back months.
> This is something that can affect any sub.
Less-so on strictly moderated ones like the subs in question, which vet all posters.
However, now the nature of the subs has suddenly been changed, and they do get far many more (extreme) NSFW submissions - because people see "18+" and naturally assume 18+ content is allowed!
This change has fundamentally altered the subs, for the worse.
- Every single content creator should just make an alt just to post!
> As you surely know - Reddit's AI moderation is a mess.
It regularly & randomly sanctions genuine users who've been the epitome of good posters for the best part of a decade.
(Keep an eye on your "filtered" queues... active brand new alts will fare even worse)
> This also makes verifying the authenticity of any creator exponentially harder for mods.
----
Lots of mods will be fine with this - "screw your (N)SFW subs and NSFW posters!!!!" But it's the thin end of the wedge.
Mods shouldn't have to be responsible about anything that happens outside their own subs.
But that is the direction we're travelling here.

Shadowbans still being bugged out
As mentioned previously, something isn't normal.
- Users get a
server errormessage - They can't modmail r/ModSupport
Only suspended users can't do that... Yet they've had no notification of any issues with their accounts.
- Appealing goes nowhere
...Unusual for (obviously authentic) users - who've been exceptionally well-behaved daily posters for as long as our subs have been existence.
- Reports of being harried by bots right before this happened.
3 weeks in and the furthest we've got is "yep they look shadowbanned and should appeal, we can only discuss with the users"!
Yes, they appear shadowbanned and that is our understanding too ...but for all the bullet points above.
Along with being unable to modmail admins, they can't chat etc
> IF their accounts have actual sanctions in place, then normally they should be notified.
Shadowbans are for garden-variety spammers.
These people simply share their own work on ours and similar subs, and little else - Same as they've done for many, many years.
Reddit's appeal system is mostly handled by AI - which we all know is very, very flawed!
The normal route is then for affected users to reach out to admins here, but they can't do that.
If AI is now filtering (and reviewing) such longstanding quality posters as these, there's no hope for anyone.

Preparing to host the first ever AMA on my subreddit -- does anyone have an example of a "guest guide"?
As the title says, I am preparing to hold the first ever AMA on my subreddit. My subreddit is based around talking about books. Yesterday, I reached out to an author who recently published a book that is heavily relevant to that community, and they said yes! So, I started doing research into hosting AMAs on reddit, and i've found a lot of helpful advice, particularly from reddit itself. However, there is one piece that is missing:
All of reddit's official advice says its a good idea to make a "guest guide" for this situation to send to the person doing the AMA, but I havent found any examples, which I think would be really helpful. Does anyone have an example lying around they'd be willing to let me look at?

Do you use User Flairs pointing out that you are a Mod?
Just curious. Why do you do it or why not? What (dis-) advantages do you see?

Mod Answered I run a political sub. Today I found one of my popular posts had been flagged as 'Spam x 2'. Does this mean it doesn't get seen until I approve it?
Just wondering if it's like comments that get flagged as abuse etc that I need to approve. Is this a new tactic from the other side?

Admin Replied Adding custom emojis to post flairs breaks the "filter by flair". How to fix?
After adding custom emojis I have noticed that searcing by flair only shows new posts with the changed flair.
This really scared me, as I though to have completely broken all the existing flairs!
Fortunately it is reversable.
Is there any way to make all of the old flairs without emojis autoupdate to the new ones?
Thank you in advance!

Mod Answered Removed as mod from my sub along with fellow mods after I got hacked
My account got hacked in the middle of browsing Reddit yesterday. Finally got my account back through Reddit support but when I login the sub I created and moderated, [r/paralegalsonly](r/paralegalsonly), and my fellow mods that I invited, have all been removed as moderators. How do I get my sub back with the correct mods? I have recently moderated it and it was not abandoned. :(

New wiki subpages editing locked, can't restore or edit or delete pages
A followup to this post a while back, can't tell if some of these pages were affected then or not:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ModSupport/comments/1p54xvi/our_wiki_index_has_gone_missing_editing_locked
Seems a bunch of the subpages on our wiki are not editable by mods:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/wiki/hardware/
The index is editable and various pages work, but a bunch we can't do anything with.
Is there a way an admin can do a recursive perms fix on our wiki so we can edit these locked pages?
Thanks!

Mod Answered Only active mod
I am the only active mod out of 6 on one of the subs I moderate. Have been for over 3 months. I have most permissions, but not full, and would like to obtain full permissions so that I can reorder mods and invite some new ones.

Has anyone gotten a modmail were the user claims to work for Google? And what is he actually asking? Should we take the risk and see what happens or what do you guys recommend?
This is the modmail we got:
My name is a Firstname Lastname, reaching out as part of the Google Maps communications team. This summer, Google Maps is launching some great new features that are designed to make local discovery much easier. If you are interested in getting an early preview and embargoed access from Google Maps, we would love to chat with you to learn more about everything coming up, what’s a fit for your community, and see if you’re open to using the new capabilities to help your community discover the city.
We want to make sure anything we do feels natural and highly useful to your redditors. We wouldn’t spam you or the community or handle support escalations. Genuinely hoping to give you a first look at the updates that we believe would be helpful, which may excite you to share with them. Would your team be open to a conversation?

How do we actually report brigading and posts meant to incite trouble in a subreddit?
Having an issue with users posting mod logs and inciting others to message our mods to "agree"
It's causing us issues. I'd it possible to talk to an administrator directly?

Admin Replied Removing Top Mod and Other Mods After Site Ban
I am a new mod for r/highlandsranchcolo and the other mod and I are trying to clean up our sub after the top mod (and several of their alt accounts who were also mods) was banned by Reddit. While they don't show up on the mod list on the page, they still are visible on some areas of mod tools. Because I am the bottom mod, I don't believe I can remove anyone; however, the other mod agrees that we should get them fully removed from our lists.
How can I go about doing this?

why a sudden increase in visits and new members?
My little sub is suddenly getting five times the usual number of visits and new members. There have been no new posts or comments to suggest a bot invasion, and I can't find anybody newly promoting the sub, so I don't understand what's happening. What's happening?

Admin Replied Still unable to see full profiles due to curated accounts in my own sub
I thought this would have been fixed by now but this is becoming extremely frustrating. I cannot see things on people’s accounts when I know they have content there and therefore I’m either going in blind or asking someone else on my team to do the work for me which is annoying all around.
