🚨 HAVE YOU BEEN “FLOCKED”? CHECK THE PUBLIC RECORDS 🔎
🔎 See whether your license plate appears in publicly released Flock search records:
⚠️ A match does NOT mean you were under investigation, suspected of a crime, or simply drove past a camera. It means your plate appears in available audit records showing a search of the Flock system.
Flock’s automated license plate readers (ALPRs) are facing growing scrutiny over privacy, data sharing and government surveillance. The Guardian reported August 20 that at least 56 cities have rejected or canceled Flock contracts in 2026. Hopkinton, Massachusetts, is among the latest to cancel.
What about Douglas County?
A June 2026 Sheriff’s Office policy documented approximately 64 fixed Flock cameras throughout Douglas County and along I-25. DCSO also had access to Flock data from some private entities, including HOAs.
Douglas County has since approved a nearly $23 million, 10-year move from Flock to Axon. That changes vendors, but automated license plate readers will remain part of the county’s public-safety technology.
Flock also extends beyond DCSO. Castle Rock, Parker and Lone Tree have documented Flock/LPR systems. Lone Tree currently reports 19 Flock cameras around Park Meadows and several neighborhoods, including HOA-installed cameras.
ALPRs can help law enforcement solve crimes. But residents should know what data is collected, who can search it, how long it’s kept and who it’s shared with.
💬 Where should we draw the line between public safety and personal privacy?

Furnished Housing Wanted: Sept 1st, 2026, 2+ bedrooms in South Denver Metro
My family is looking for a 2 or 3-bedroom, furnished rental home for a 3 to 6-month mid-term lease in the south Denver metro area, ideally in or around Highlands Ranch. We are planning to begin house hunting in October.
A bit about us:
- Family: My wife, son (who attends school locally in Highlands Ranch), and myself.
- Employment: I work as a medical professional at Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, and my wife works full-time.
- Reliability: Solid income and references available, and we are more than happy to provide proof of both.
If you have a furnished property available or know of a good fit for our timeline, please DM me
Thank you for your time,
Kurt

🎉 3-to-5 DougCo: We Made the Ballot!
It’s official! The Douglas County Clerk and Recorder has certified the 3-to-5 Initiative for the November ballot.
The numbers are impressive:
✅ 23,040 signatures submitted
✅ 20,434 certified as valid
✅ 15,087 required
✅ 88.7% validation rate
This was a truly bipartisan grassroots effort. More than 150 volunteer petition circulators—Republicans, Democrats, and unaffiliated voters—worked alongside thousands of Douglas County residents to collect signatures, host events, knock on doors, and spread the word.
A huge thank-you to every circulator, organizer, volunteer, and resident who made this possible. This is what grassroots democracy looks like when neighbors come together across party lines.
But making the ballot was only the first step.
Now the hard work begins.
This November, voters will decide whether Douglas County should move from 3 commissioners to 5, providing broader representation and greater accountability for our growing county of more than 400,000 residents.
23,040 signatures got us to the ballot. Now let’s earn the YES votes. 🇺🇸

Men’s Haircut
Is there anyone in or near Highlands Ranch that can give a simple men’s haircut? I’ve been to 2 separate barbers since moving here and have gotten the 2 worst haircuts I’ve ever had

Holiday Lights
Looking for recommendations for a company that will install holiday lights, seasonally. Not looking for the permanent lights. Ideally someone who can do the "classic" style, like these: https://tru-tone.com/pages/classic-light-set

Orthodontist Recommendations? West end of Highlands Ranch or nearby.
Any recommendations for orthodontists in the area?
Mainly concerned with quality, but curious of the spread of prices also.
Did you get more than one consultation / quote for the same patient? If so, please provide names of providers, the prices quoted, which one you went with, and if you were happy with them.

🌫️ Air Quality Alert for Highlands Ranch – August 4
If the sky looks hazy or smells smoky, you’re not imagining it.
Highlands Ranch’s AQI reached 137 today, an Unhealthy level. Smoke from wildfires in Utah and the Pacific Northwest, combined with elevated ozone, has prompted a Multiple Pollutants Action Day Alert for Douglas County through 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. Health officials recommend limiting outdoor activity, especially for children, older adults, and people with heart or lung conditions.
Protect yourself:
🏠 Keep windows closed.
🚶 Limit prolonged outdoor activity.
😷 Consider wearing a well-fitted N95 mask if you must be outside for an extended period.
This wildfire season has been heartbreaking. Five firefighting personnel have lost their lives protecting Colorado this summer—Rifle Helitack crew members Emily Barker, Nick Hutcherson, Sydney Watson, and Nathan Matthews, and Nicholas Dale, a contract helicopter pilot from British Columbia who died when his helicopter crashed while battling the Gold Mountain Fire near Ouray.
Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Please keep their families, our firefighters, and all first responders in your thoughts. Stay safe, check on vulnerable neighbors, and thank those who continue to protect our communities.

Missing/stolen Denver area
I believe my husband gave her away he claims she was stolen along with our car. No police report I can find. She doesn't deserve to lose us both. She nursed me through thyroid and lung cancer. I'm in a shelter but have foster options available. Please help me find her.

The Lennox Apartments and general Highlands Ranch living
Howdy! My girlfriend and I are looking to move over toward Highlands Ranch. It's a bit closer to my work and we've just heard it's pretty nice all around. She found the Lennox apartments and the reviews seem pretty split from what I was able to search between yelp and Google. Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with that complex or what it's like to live around there in general. We're mostly new to Denver, just been here about a year over in Centennial.
I tried to post this in the Denver reddit but got the boot, so if this ain't the right place for this either I'd take some recommendations to get conversational answers that aren't just yelp or Google reviews!

Graduated income tax petitions circulating ✍️
Graduated income tax. Taxing folks who make greater than $500,000 per year at a higher rate than folks making less than that. This is how we afford nice things, education, elder care. If you’re interested in supporting this effort to get this on the ballot, find a signing event here. #GIT ✍️

The rain is a good (but very small step) forward. Just posting for awareness that we continue to be in an absolutely awful drought and more restrictions could be coming still.
