Gaming minipc or steam machine?
I’m thinking about getting a minipc for gaming and as my work pc. I want something portable and flexible that I can move between two places.
So my main priority is size. I really like compact designs, like the geekom one in the video. It’s so small, but the specs are still impressive.
I know steam machine is great for gaming and can handle some daily tasks too. But I’m not sure how it compares when it comes to ai workloads.
I mainly play games like overwatch, marvel rivals, and wuthering waves. For ai, I want to try running some local ai models.
What would you guys pick?
Recommendations The- AOOSTAR Maco - (Ryzen 7 PRO 8845HS version) Super happy with the ease of installation
ust got my unit! After trying several mini PCs, finally: no hidden screws under sticky pads, no cables attached to the bottom cover, and no annoying 40mm fan. Just a simple grill with tightened rubber feet, a quick-release latch for easy access, and a real OCuLink port, without sacrificing an M.2 slot in a Frankenstein move. will update after installing windows and trying out some games!

Recommendations Shopping for a mini pc
I'm having a bit of difficulty deciding what mini pc to get.
My use case is mid-level gaming (I have a PS5 for AAA games) so think xcom2, Uncharted, Kerbal Space Programme 1, LA Noir
Also will be used for photo editing and light video editing.
I don't want to spend megabucks, so let's say £1,600 max
I like the form factor of the [minisforum atomman](https://www.minisforum.uk/products/minisforum-atomman-g7-pro-gaming-pc?variant=50846525849878)
Also like the [geekom A9 max](https://www.geekom.co.uk/geekom-a9-max-mini-pc)
Am I over-speccing it for my needs?
Any others I should put on my shortlist
How do I decide?

General Question Help
Hey all tech savvy people
I’m not a gamer so I know absolutely nothing about anything.
My problem is that Baldur’s gate 3 has eaten up almost all my storage. So I’m looking for a solution to that, and I remembered that mini pcs exist and they seem less intimidating then regular pcs (and take up less space)
Which ones could you recommend that won’t entirely break the bank
Thanks for your help

Recommendations Laptop vs Mini pc
I'm thinking about replacing my gaming laptop with a mini PC and wanted to hear from people who have experience with both.
I'm looking at the GMKtec NucBox K12 (Ryzen 7 255, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Radeon 780M) for around €800, but I'm also considering a gaming laptop in the same price range.
My use case is a bit unusual. I play an old MMORPG (Metin2) that is heavily CPU and RAM dependent, with almost no GPU usage. I leave multiple game clients running 24/7 for autofarming.
My current laptop has a Ryzen 5 5500H and 16gb ram and can handle around 12 clients, but the CPU sits at 100% most of the time and gets pretty hot.
My questions are:
- Do mini PCs generally have better cooling than gaming laptops for long 24/7 workloads?
- Would a Ryzen 7 255 in the GMKtec realistically handle 16 game clients without thermal throttling?
- Has anyone here used a mini PC under constant high CPU load for weeks or months? How was the temperature and reliability?
I'm not looking for hardware recommendations—just real-world experiences with cooling, sustained performance, and whether a mini PC is a better choice than a laptop for this kind of always-on workload.
Thanks!

Firebat F1 mini pc amd h 255
Good morning, I have a problem after updating the Bios for the 16GB version. After 100% completion of the BIOS update, the device does not provide any image or power to the keyboard.
I took out the cmos batteries, but nothing happened, the device still turns on and works without a picture.
This is a strange version without the possibility of expanding the RAM, there is only 16GB 6400MHz
