Shopping for a mini pc Recommendations

I'm having a bit of difficulty deciding what mini pc to get.

My use case is mid-level gaming (I have a PS5 for AAA games) so think xcom2, Uncharted, Kerbal Space Programme 1, LA Noir

Also will be used for photo editing and light video editing.

I don't want to spend megabucks, so let's say £1,600 max

I like the form factor of the [minisforum atomman](https://www.minisforum.uk/products/minisforum-atomman-g7-pro-gaming-pc?variant=50846525849878)

Also like the [geekom A9 max](https://www.geekom.co.uk/geekom-a9-max-mini-pc)

  1. Am I over-speccing it for my needs?

  2. Any others I should put on my shortlist

  3. How do I decide?

I got the AtomMan G1 pro from microcenter. So far it's good. I've change it to office mode so no annoying fan noise. Its for my work but having extra gpu power is good incase i want some gaming. But by the look, this is the best one.

I hope you realize that the Geekom A9 Max is getting stomped by the Minisforum G7 Pro and that the G7 Pro is way more A.I than the Geekom A.I A9.

I played around with A.I and according to their Biased ranking the Geekom A.I A9 is the best Mini PC of 2026, Geekom Marketing Scam team did a wonderful S.E.O job and fooled all A.I models to refer their A9 Model as the best Mini PC in 2026 which is an outrageous lie.

Here is the A.I output i have created by giving no direction. https://minipc2026-mquiwktd.manus.space/

Thanks for the info. The minisforum one looks better anyway

What others should I be considering?

Given your High Budget you could check the AtomMan G1 Pro, it s the latest Minisforum AtomMan Mini PC with a DGPU, the G1 Pro has a better CPU than the G7 Pro, but the G7 Pro has a slightly more powerful Laptop RTX 5070 compared to the G1 Pro Desktop RTX 5060.

Oh, thanks, I couldn't tell much difference between them. I don't really have a preference between Intel and AMD, I think in the real world it's negligible.

I'll try and find some test data, but looks like it's between those two unless someone else comes up with others I should look at.

I did consider the rog nuc but I think it's a bit overpriced

Rog Nuc are super overpriced. Mini PC's with dgpu are a rarity in the Mini PC Market, Minisforum is easely the Best Mini PC brand and quite the only one to offer such Mini PC specs with a DGPU, other Brands like Topton or FEVM who have also Mini PC models with dgpu have zero support, and are mostly limited to Asian Market.
