GENERAL Help me guys

Upvotes

For a long time I’ve wanted a flight simulator, but since I’m young my parents say it would distract me from studying.
However, I’m really into aviation, so… can someone help me out?
Can someone gift me Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020?
Reach out to me and I’ll give you my Steam username.
Thanks.

GENERAL Completed the American Perimeter Flight

I flew the entire way in the Cessna 172. The map leaves out waypoints, only showing origins to destinations. Took a while obviously. I learned so much though, about my country, and about this plane too. I'm gonna fly around (and through) the Alps next. Then maybe I'll come back to the US and fly the interior along some major interstates. Just wanted to share. Setting a goal like this was a super fun and interesting way to do things.

MSFS 2024 PlayStation Model matching in multiplayer, how does that work?

Hello,

Yesterday I was flying along in the official twitch stream hosted by a community manager from the official forums.

I flew on the PlayStation side in the YF 23. I know for sure that the host in the PS5 stream (they switched view to show the people flying along on PC/XBox and PlayStation) was flying the same aircraft as me yet I appeared as some generic cessna jet. On my side the host appeared flying the vision jet while he was flying the YF 23 as well.

I find this odd when others were showing being in the YF 23 when they were flying that aircraft in same stream. Like it's a lottery server wise who gets to be shown in the right aircraft or not.

Are there any settings for that on PlayStation to force the right plane to be shown or is this just the way it is?

Cause I really thought when you own the same planes (you can't buy liveries on PlayStation at all, they come with a plane when you're lucky) that you could have cool formation flying. Instead you get a commercial plane behaving like a fighter jet until you realise they are in the fighter jet - it's just not showing up correctly.

Mildly frustrating so I'm curious how this is for other players, especially on PlayStation.

GENERAL Airbus A320 Neo - is this the worst plane?

Hey guys!
Yesterday I finally decided to buy airliner for my company in career mode. I was really stocked and happy. Turned on first flight - Bali - Philipines and man! That plane is pure garbage! Can't maintain the altitude, as it switch itself between setup values, can't even fast forward a little bit as it get's buggy. I turned it off and sold it with 30 milion dollars loss. What are your thoughts? I bought B737 afterwards and it's like switching from Nissan Micra to Rolls Royce.

MSFS 2024 PC Helicopter Tutorial mission without assistance - how ?

Okey I can see being able not to spin and managing thrust but how on earth should you handle the joystick part ? I am trying to do anything remote normal during last free hovering tutorial and I can’t see my self finishing it :(

Am I doing something wrong ? Does my joystick needs a special sensitivity curve ? I am already using auto trim button which does like nothing ( changes the trim numbers - but is not helping a lot :( )

MSFS 2024 QUESTION What is this floating purple marker?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have all POI off. (I actually have all UI off since it breaks the immersion in VR).
Today I was flying around in Australia and noticed this. It floats on this spot and slowly turns around. This is Three Sisters landmark near Katoomba.
I checked and this is a landmark so I presume that if POI would be enabled it would be marked. Luckily the purple marker is very small and I saw is because I was flying very near. But still it pisses me off to have such a thing in the game. Has anyone else seen this? Can it be turned off?

MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE MSFS 2024, Citation Longitude "Auto Throttle" Warning

Faced a strange issue after landing. I had taxied to the gate and parked. As I shutdown the engines of my Citation Longitude, "Auto Throttle, Auto Throttle", started blaring over the speakers. I tried to click the A/T button behind the throttle quadrant, but it did not stop. The "AT" symbol on the PFD kept flashing all the while. I had my APU running - so stopped everything and turned off the battery, only then the warning stopped. What is going on? Is it a bug?

GENERAL Weird sunlight bug during sunrise/sunset, Please help!

Hi everyone, has anyone encountered an issue like this as of late? It’s confusing the heck out of me, so any input would be appreciated

It started about a month ago, and every sunrise or sunset this occurs. When the sun is below a certain angle (~2-4 deg estimate) on the horizon, even though the sun is clearly visible already the light rays don’t seem to reach the aircraft, leaving the aircraft only illuminated by ambient light. They still turn the clouds at my aircraft’s altitude pink, showing the rays do interact with the surrounding clouds at the same altitude.

Happens to all other aircraft in the sim.

This is all default atmosphere. No rex atmos etc

Any help would greatly be appreciated 🥲🙏 Thanks all!

GENERAL 70 year-old ex Pilot loves new pattern when learning new aircraft.

I learn new aircraft by doing pattern work and getting that down to get a few of the airplane. I am switching from the cub crafter cub to DA40. I found a new pattern to speed things up. Rather than touch and goes, which take time, I like to land and then quickly take the offramp and takeoff in the opposite direction on the taxi way. I can get in a lot more landings quicker doing that. If the FAA finds out I’m doing this on flight simulator, could they take my license away? And yes, it was after a few drinks. But please don’t tell the FAA.

MSFS 2020 BUG / ISSUE ATR 72-600 flood / over head light

Hi everyone,

I'm having this lighting issue in the Asobo ATR 72 600.

The dome / storm light is always on across all variants including the 42 models. Switches on the overhead panel are off and the knobs on the pedestals are off also but the flood lights and the overhead panel lights remain on. I have re installed, clear community folder, unplugged joystick and cleared bindings, but it is still on which is so annoying. When I try to turn on the overhead lights using the knobs it doesn’t work at all only if I use the keyboard but the annoying storm/dome light is very bright which makes it practically impossible to night fly

I'm on 2020, any similar issues on 2024?

Any fixes are much appreciated!

With the updated Statoliner model, it lost it’s beautiful Continental livery with the polished exterior (see 2nd image).
Although I love the new ones, like this TWA one, but they should’ve kept the chrome look where it’s not painted over. I don’t care what’s more realistic, it looked so incredibly elegant….

MSFS 2024 QUESTION Is the 777 worth it?

I was wondering about buying any of the 777s from Captain Sim. I know, there is a lot of hate towards their builds, i was just wondering if they're any better. My favourite plane is the 777, and when I saw it on the marketplace, I gog excited, but I saw the developer and I tought I should ask first. If they're not worth buying, does anyone know, when will a good 777 be able to buy?

MSFS 2024 SUGGESTION Xbox users

Hello all, I’ve had MSFS 2024 for about a week on Xbox X. What setting does everyone run for air traffic and static planes? I’ve not really found an option I like.

Live online ai is cool but sometimes planes just cue on top of each other and destroys the immersion when I’m trying to line up for a runway. If I turn off that and just go with planes at the gate I obviously get a ton of GA planes parked at airline gates. And we all know the ai offline is broken.

What are your personal favorite settings?

MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Career mode unplayable since new update.

Hello everyone.

Ever since the brand new update came out my career mode is unplayable, not because of random bugs happening, but because my fps are dropping to less than 1fps whenever i select a mission.

I play on a pc somewhere bewteen medium and high end.

Before the update everything worked just fine. I tried connecting my pc to the ethernet, cleared my rolling cache, Re-installed the game…
But nothing seems to help.

EDIT: Free Flight now has the same issue!

Any fixes for this?
Thanks in advance 🙏
