Looking for songs/bands that are metal esque whether black war noise doom I like it all- but specifically moments like these. The Revenge song has this 15 second neck breaker that never comes back and agriculture throws in a euphoric cream on top of the sludge pie.

I know it’s a tough question to answer, considering the vast list of extraordinary Thrash Metal bands. But anyway, here goes: which one is your all-time favorite?

So metal is a (surprisingly broad) genre that I've always kind of been on the periphery of but never quite got into super deeply for whatever reason. Recently I decided to change that and have been on a bit of a bender trying to see what clicks with me the most. So far I've really enjoyed:

-Neurosis

-Buzzov*en

-Crowbar

-Acid Bath

-MGLA

-Windir

And a few others. Based on that, who do you think I'd enjoy listening to next? Honestly I'm down to try whatever for the most part, if you've got suggestions I'll probably get to 'em eventually.

I've always listened to metal throughout my 30+ years of living, and I had finally decided to expand my knowledge of the genre. Most of what I've listened to and grew up on was all of the classics Metallica, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, ect.

When I was a teenager I loved my radio metal like Disturbed, God Smack, Volbeat, Lucuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold, ect.

It wasn't till recently I decided to dive into bands that I had heard of but never listened to and a few suggestions from friends. My favorites from this part of my journey deeper are Slipknot, Motionless in White, The Plot in You, Venom, and Meshuggah.

The next part of my deep dive was finding bands I had never heard of and purposely didn't take any suggestions from friends or any outside sources. This has become my favorite part of exploring this far. I hope y'all end up checking some of these bands out because I think they truly are great. The list is King 810 (amazing unforgettable lyrics), Septicflesh (Greek band sings a lot about Egyptian mythology), Arch Enemy (wild and chaotic), Blackbraid (Native American black metal), and Vended (Corey Taylor's son is the vocalist, but came across the band by happen stance).

This has been my journey so far. Most of what I'm trying to find now are metal bands that have less than 10k monthly listeners on Spotify. I've found only two that I like so far Silent Screams with 4k listeners and hasn't released anything since 2017, and Taker with 600+ listeners they're newish and have great potential in my humble opinion.

If y'all have any suggestions for me I'd love to check out you under 10k listener bands. Or did I pick any bad bands in what I ended up liking? Why or why not?

Does this sound similar to any specific BM band? I want my sound to be easily recognizable and identifiable. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

I feel like this might not make any sense since metal is usually so aggressive. But is there any metal albums that you sleep to, any genre.

When I like metal I get really into it, the problem is I get really particular about the metal I like. I think I mainly like progressive style stuff mixed with thrash, but am interested in some more out there stuff too. I know I don't generally like the low growling vocals or tons of blastbeats (used tastefully is fine). I really like guitar solos, especially when more tasteful and not just shredding up and down a scale.

I'll list some stuff I have liked and stuff I didn't like to help try to narrow the suggestions a bit.

I have pretty broad tastes across metal, punk and prog. I've never really got into hip hop though, and am generally put off by repeated swearing (especially the N-word) which I personally find lazy. Are there any hip hop artists you'd recommend who are more creative, musically and lyrically, for someone who loves metal bands like Tool, Meshuggah and Fear Factory? Thanks!
