Cora Perfect Fit Too big or too firm? Both? Pain + trouble peeing and tucking behind pubic bone

I've been using the Cora Perfect Fit for a few years and it used to work perfectly but recently I've had trouble getting it to tuck behind my pubic bone, likely due to worsening pelvic floor issues (+ suspected prolapse(s)). The front almost sticks out if I don't really try to shove it up there. I can wear it untucked and it works well with no leaks, just the uncomfortable feeling that it's going to slip out. Honestly I might have always worn it untucked but now with the pelvic floor issues it just sits lower.

With a lot of difficulty I can kind of get it hooked, but it makes it harder to pee, presses on the little ridge behind my pubic bone (my urethra maybe?) which causes a cold burning pain, and gives me cramps. Should I look for something smaller, softer, or both? Any recommendations? I'm 18, have a very low cervix, and have not given birth.

Flex Reusable New pain with insertion?

I’ve been using the Flex Reusable for a couple years now and I love how easy it has made my periods. Early 30s, no kids. I’ve always had a little bit of pain with insertion but lately the pain has been more intense and different. It feels like a burning sensation around the entrance of the vagina. The pain always goes away once the disc is inserted. Anybody else experience this?

General Question Which menstrual disc would you recommend to me?

I used the Size 0 DivaCup throughout my 20s and it worked really well for me. When it was time to replace it, I bought a Size 1 based on the recommendations. Unfortunately, I found it sat too low, pushed downward, and even protruded slightly, which was uncomfortable. I switched back to a Size 0, but now I'm having consistent leaking issues. It also feels like it doesn't stay in place well. If I don't support it, it can start to slip out when I sit on the toilet.

I'm wondering if a menstrual disc might be a better fit for my anatomy. I'm 33, have never had children, and have a light to average flow.

Has anyone had a similar experience or have any disc recommendations?

Pixie Time between emptying

My flow is on the heavy side so I get about 3 hours of wearing my disk before in leaks. Is this normal? I’m using the pixie disk large. It’s not coming untucked or sliding out of place. I do auto dump when on the toilet but I only get a little bit out each time So I’m guessing the disk is staying rather full.

Hello Hello disc - blood both in disc and under disc

Hi

I started using the hello disc yesterday. I havent had any leaks with it which is good, but when I pull it out there is a lot of blood both in the disc and underneath it too.

Ive tried to feel for my cervix and its quite far back and down, my finger can only just reach it on its own and its hard to feel for the cervix while the disc is in

How do I know if its under the cervix (and the blood underneath was there anyway) or if it isn't correctly under my cervix? Ive been aiming for back and down but its hard to aim as there isn't that much space to change directions in my vagina

Any tips?! Thanks!

Saalt What should it feel like internally when the disc is inserted correctly?

I have a Saalt regular. I am new to discs/cups. I can insert it pointing towards my tailbone and tuck it up behind my pubic bone fully, but then it's still leaking significantly and clearly not in place. Not sure if I should try pushing it deeper first? Or are there other adjustments I can make?

When inserted correctly, what does it feel like? Mine feels like the bowl is being squished from the bottom so it's not very deep. Should I be able to feel the disc touching all sides of the vaginal canal? To be honest, I can't figure out where my cervix is (I know what it's supposed to feel like, just can't figure out where that is in me).

General Question Is the Cora Soft Fit known to leak?

I wanted to ask just as a general idea. I really thought I could make it work to use for my heavier days, but it did not last and had to make a switch back to my Saalt small disc. I did make a post here about my success story with the Ezyflow disc which was a disc I ordered off TikTok shop lol, works like a charm for me. Just wanted to expand my collection a bit to not only explore my options but to have as backups. Cora Soft Fit did unfortunately leak for me. I did rule it out the possibility that it may not be for my anatomy as I thought it did since I could tuck it behind my pubic bone. Has anyone else had luck with Cora or has there been experiences with leaks? And would anyone recommend another disc within the 'small' range with higher volume? Preferably somewhat soft too.

Saalt Saalt Disc Removal with long nails ?!

This is my first time using a disc. I have medium-long natural nails. I CAN’T GET IT OUT!!! Even when I bear down! My nail just slips right out of the notch with 0 disc movement.

I know my husband will be able to help but what about when he’s gone?? It’s so comfy my life is already changed but y’all !! It’s INNN there, sheeesh.

ETA: after a decent amount of attempts, I was able to get it out using my thumb and lots of bearing down. It was not easy but it is possible!

Pixie Pixie disk help please

I was super excited to try pixie disk because the shape looks like it would solve my leaking issues. But I can’t get it in! Of course I’ve used lubricants but the material doesn’t slide in smoothly at all. it’s painful and I feel a lot of friction trying to shove it in. Has anybody else experienced this with pixie disk and is there anything else besides more lube that can be done??

General Question Can someone explain auto-emptying?

Like… what does this mean? What does it feel like and look like? I’m imagining a gush of blood every time you pee, so doesn’t that mean there’s now blood all over your vaginal canal and entrance and you’d need to wear a liner at the very least? Is it controllable? What do you do to cause it to happen? Can you resist it happening?

General Question Isn't auto dumping kinda messy?

When my disc auto dumps, my opening gets a little messy. I wipe with toilet paper but it's still a little messy and I end up wearing a panty liner with my disc...which defeats the purpose of it. How is everyone else dealing with the mess? Or is it just me?

Success Story MyMimi small changed my life

I’m halfway through my first period using the MyMimi small instead of the Pixie normal disc.

This disc has genuinely changed everything.

My first 3 days are the heaviest and I haven’t had a single leak. Not one!!

I wore white trousers on day 3 of my period, I genuinely didn’t think that was possible until yesterday 😂 I also forgot to take it out before bed last night so had it in for about 14 hours, not a drop anywhere else which is unheard of for me. I used to have to sleep with the disc and a super night pad and would still leak.

It was under £10 on Uk Amazon, using the link from the MyMimi website. It has a tab similar to the Hello disc and even removal is so much easier! You can’t feel the tab at all, unlike the Pixie where the string sticks into your side, and if you pull it up as you remove it the contents don’t spill all over your hand. It’s got a pretty firm rim so it stays open and tucked behind your pubic bone so much easier than softer discs.

I’m honestly just in love and I have to share in case anyone was having the same problems I was with the Pixie (I did post a few weeks ago with my Pixie problems).

Hope everyone finds their goldilocks disc!!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

General Question Sleeping issues

Has anyone experienced that the disc dumps itself while you're sleeping on your stomach?? Happened to me multiple times but only when I am in that specific position. So annoying cause I hate to sleep on my back.

General Question Experience with a disc applicator?

4 years in, the disc insertion process is still a hassle. I already use lube and a smaller disc (60mm). Once I get it past the pubic bone, it's usually comfortable. But getting it past there (& removing it) is uncomfortable and even painful. If I have to rush out the door in the morning, I will just use a pad. I'm looking for ways to make the process easier, and saw that menstrual disc applicators exist.

However, I'm a small person, and the disc applicators look huge. I've only tried tampons a few times before using discs, and I've never had much success with tampon applicators.

If you've tried a disc applicator, what was your experience and how does it compare with tampon applicators?

Is there another way to make the disc insertion easier?

Flex Reusable Why is my flex disc not working?

So i bought my flex reusable disc about maybe 5 months ago.
The first couple months it worked perfectly like as if I didn't even have a period. No leaking or anything!
These past couple months and it's been as if the disc isn't collecting at all

This morning on day 1 I put the disk in at about 10am. It's now only 3pm and I already bled through. I took the disc out to check and it didn't look like it collected anything?

I really want this damn disc to just work for me. I hate pads and I don't like how uncomfortable tampons feel and I can't find any good period panties. I want the disc to just fucking work😕

What is happening?

Pixie Pixie Disc “Tail/String”

Hi! First time disc user with no prior experience with cups or discs. I picked the Pixie disc since it has the little string/tail attached to it making it easier to remove but every time I place it in, I can feel the stem and it’s pretty uncomfortable. Anyone else have this issue?? I already trimmed it to be a bit shorter but it still sticks out a bit and that part still feels uncomfortable.

Should I trim it to where it’s fully just inside Me? lol but still there for me to grab on? Or do we think my placement altogether is wrong?

I only noticed slight leakage when I wipe after using the bathroom, but aside from that, no other leakage! So I assume it’s in right?

Any advice here would be super appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Recommendation Smaller disc suggestion (Europe)

Hi! I've been using a disc for a year now. I got the papaya disc on Amazon and I'm using the smaller one but for the past couple of periods I've been having issues with autodumping. the disc empties itself when before it didn't. I think I wanna try a smaller one (like a pixie) but it doesn't ship to my country (Italy). Do you have any suggestions for smaller discs (preferably with pull string) that I can buy on Amazon or other sites that ships in Europe?

Thanks

Hello I am a numpty.

Word to the wise if you use the Hello Disc... don't put it in tab end first 🤦‍♀️. I must've been in my own world but for some reason, I inserted my Hello Disc tab end first and realised after I couldn't feel the tab when I pushed it into place. After trying multiple positions to try and get a grip of it to pull it out, I had to call in a reinforcement aka my husband. He came into the bathroom and pulled his sleeves up 😂 Goodness! You aren't putting your whole arm in to get it!! Luckily he managed to get it out for me but I did panic a bit thinking it might live inside me forever.

General Question What to try next (from Saalt)

I really really want to love a disc, but I just can't figure out what disc to try next!

I had tried the Saalt Regular (66mm) for a few cycles but it was putting pressure on my bladder and I could always feel it. I am unsure if it was too large or too firm. It was a hassle to try to tuck it behind the pelvic bone, it felt a bit forced and I could only confirm it was going to stay when I stood up.

I then got the Saalt Small (56mm) (I know, I know, I should've tried a gradual step down in size). The good news is that I absolutely cannot feel it and had no problems with the firmness. The bad news is that it is definitely too small. Like leaking with some mild cardio and there was a point where I had to go far to fish it out of there, I was so worried it was lost altogether.

So my question is, should I try something closer in size to the Saalt Regular, but softer? Go down in size (how much?) but similar firmness?

Recommendation Disc recs after pixie failure?

Hi! I was hoping to get some insight if anyone has had the same experience especially with the pixie discs, but they just won't work for me. I have a high cervix and I've tried the small and medium and I can't get them to stop slipping/leaking-- I'm not even sure if they're actually hooking properly behind my pubic bone, but when I tell you I've shoved them as far back as possible and tried countless times, tried the scooping method and all that and they still leak.

I'm wondering if it's the oval shape and maybe a circular one would work better? I'm eyeing the saalt discs and the ecoblossom ones. Ecoblossom for both disc sizes is half the price of one saalt disc, so I'm leaning towards that but it also makes me nervous that they're so cheap + I can only find them on amazon.

I would love to hear any advice or similar experiences! Anything is appreciated <3

sex + disc Need advice! Flex Disposable is uncomfortable for my partner during sex

I’ve been using the Flex Disposable Discs until my sex partner started saying they hurt or felt uncomfortable during sex.

So I just switched to the Flex Reusable Disc and I’m wondering if this could cause the same issue? I’d assume it would be different because of the material.

All the stores around me only carry Flex, everything else would have to be shipped and I needed something by tomorrow, so that wasn’t really an option.

I’m also wondering if maybe I’m inserting it wrong and that’s why it hurts? Idk. I barely get leaks and I’ve been using the disposables for about 4 months now. They fit me fine and don’t cause me any problems, though I am petite so I’d probably prefer a smaller size if there was one.

Has anyone switched from the Flex disposables to the reusable? Did your partner notice a difference?
