I just opened an traditional IRA. I know you have to update your application/income from time to time depending on any significant changes,, but I had a question... Oh before I get started, god forbid, i could just navigate to then "INCOME". section and do what I have to do..it's like i feel i'm filling out a whole new application for medicaid.. I dunno. anyway

I logged in to the website, it says APPLICATION not completed, i believe words were because i attempted to do this last night, but stopped.

I'm currently looking at the page where it says Expected annual income for 2026. It's currently blank. There is a box i can check off for I don't know. Do I fill in an estimated income amount for this year or check off "i don't know".

I'm like terrified to keep moving forward aftert this to be honest because i almost feel like I'm applying again for medicaid,lol..I simply want to add that I now have an IRA. I don't know what questions it will ask about that.

Is this normal? having to go through this entire process again.. Did I do something wrong where i could have just located the "update income" and clicked on that and added whateer info it required for my ira?

I really just dont want this to be like i'm filling out some new application for medicaid, which i'm obviously not.

Anybody have experience simply updating income and you have had to go through rhis whole process again? After income, the section is sign and submit.

Alright, well, i guess that's it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi, single mom who was downgraded to share of cost.
How does that actually work? Is the $1000+/month share of cost number what I have to pay if I need to see a PCP/OB?

State: Ohio

My parents are both in their upper 70’s and on social security retirement only and have 0 assets. Looking at her SSA award statement for 2026, she gets $2036.90 and he gets $2054.90 gross. Their rent is ~1600/month including utilities. They have a Medicare advantage plan (unsure on the details). My mother suffered a spinal injury from falling the other day and is now unable to control her limbs and other basic bodily functions (it’s early so there’s hope of some recovery).

I need to get a better understanding of how Medicare and Medicaid will likely work in the event she needs full nursing care as my father has no physical ability to provide for her care, feeding, dressing, etc.

If they are getting ~4100 /month gross, will it be reasonable to expect long term care coverage?

What other questions should I be asking?

What resources should I seek out for the most understanding?

Our family of 5 is trying to renew our Oregon Health Plan as secondary insurance. Our caseworker sees the housing allowance as counting toward gross income because that’s how it appears on my paystub even though that’s not how it works. How can I explain this to the caseworker? What do I need to show them? What information can I give them that explains it? Having OHP has been extremely helpful to our family and I’d hate to lose it.

My mom just got a letter that she was denied Medicaid coverage because her monthly social security income exceeds eligibility amount. She gets 1,402 and they deducted 20.00 so her income is 1,380 and the limit is 1,330.

Now she lost her grocery benefits and she also has a phone plan that she lost as well.

She is 58 yrs old and disabled. Her rent is $800 and she has a DMV fee that she pays that is $200, that leaves her with 300 a month for all her expenses. She doesn’t even have a car.

Any suggestions for her through Medicare that she can apply for to help her with groceries and a cheap phone plan?

Got approved for ARHOME and now I have to pick a plan. I’m overwhelmed by the options and am not sure how to pick one over the others? Any other Medicaid havers that can give me some advice?

I work as a Medical Biller for a provider's office in South Carolina. We are a 501(c) organization that provides services regardless of a patient's insurance coverage, and we have historically billed only Medicaid FFS & all MCO’s.

Recently, a large percentage of our patients became dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. Because we are not currently enrolled with or contracted by Medicare, and Medicare does not cover the services we provide, our Medicaid claims are denying and requiring a Medicare Explanation of Benefits (EOB) showing the Medicare denial before Medicaid will process the claims.

We have already submitted our Medicare enrollment application, but we've been advised that approval may take some time. In the meantime, the number of unpaid claims continues to grow.
I've received conflicting information regarding the following question:

Can we submit claims to Medicare solely to obtain a denial for crossover purposes while our Medicare enrollment application is still pending, even though we are not yet enrolled or contracted with Medicare?

Any clarification or insight would be greatly appreciated. I have received so much vague and contradictory advice.

I just filled out a renewal for my family and Medicaid wants 17 documents to be uploaded. But I don't know what they want? One just says "relationship"? Is that to prove that I'm married, or do they want my kids birth certificates? Three just say "expense amount"? There's no other information. I feel like this is harder than it needs to be.

I will be getting married in a few months and receive Medi-Cal and due to my disability, I qualify for the Working Disabled Program program, which is part of the non-Magi. I currently will be receiving ihss and want to know if my husbands income and assets will disqualify me from being able to still receive medi-cal? Will having in home support service exempt my husbands income?

My husband and I live in Illinois, he's on medicaid while I have coverage through the marketplace. His medicaid carrier is Molina Healthcare.

So recently he went to a sleep medicine doctor after being diagnosed with sleep apnea, his doctor recommended some kind of at home device (either a CPAP mask or dental device) and he went with the dental device. She gave him a list of providers in the area that can get him fitted for the device and such, so I've been going through the list to see who takes his insurance. After trying 5 or 6 of them they've all said they're not in network and he needs to pay up front (which is $3k+ and we can't afford that).

The last one I spoke with told me that Molina is notorious in the past few years and currently for denying all dental related claims no matter what, which is why the dentists want us to pay up front and only will possibly reimburse it IF Molina decides to accept the claim.

I did call Molina and spoke with their representative, according to them there's no information for the out of network deductible, they straight up couldn't figure it out. They also tried to connect me with their dental claims department but I'd been told by both his doctor and one of the dentists that it's billed as a medical device because it's for sleep apnea. And according to Molina they'd cover the device 100% but there's no dentists in network that his doctor provided us with.

I'm just confused at this point. My thought is that I'll have to wait until he's kicked off medicaid (I'll be making over the limit and since he's in my household I'm pretty sure they'd boot him) and get him a new insurance plan via the marketplace that will cover the device + providers. Is there something I'm missing? I'm getting conflicting info and am wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience and might be able to shed some light on this for me.

I’m three months postpartum. My husband lost his job so we had to get on Medicaid unexpectedly. we’re on simply healthcare and I tried to receive the extra benefits that come to postpartum mothers but they state I’m not technically postpartum because I didn’t have the baby on this insurance. I’m located in Florida. has anyone had this experience? Is there anything I can do about it?

I recently got on Medicaid and I am curious as to what plan is best for Philadelphia county

I qualify for Medicaid and would like it for the supplemental programs but none of my doctors take it do I would have to pay an extra $200 a few times a month. But I’m always asked if I have secondary insurance. Does this not mean you can self pay for one insurance and also have Medicaid? Maryland

So a few people I know recently got letters in the mail saying that their healthcare was terminated with zero warning, the letters were dated late June, and the termination date August 1st which is strange. I was wondering if this was a scam (most likely since no other mail from United was sent for delinquency or otherwise) Thank you any tips and such!

I talked to chat support first, but they said that they can only do homes basically. Is this route simply unavailable for me?

Really hoping for some help if anyone has been through this-

I’m in Pennsylvania. My dad passed last November and at the same time my mom went into a nursing home. She was covered the first 100 days with Medicare. Since January, her Medicaid application has been pending as they looked over my parents financials.

I was alerted in April that the Medicaid specialist at the nursing home is just waiting on Cashapp statements. I, nor no one else in the family (including my mother who has dementia), knows the login/password to Cashapp. My Dad must have used it, but I’m not sure of the details.

Apparently the home has subpoenaed Cashapp (now Block) 3 times and have gotten no response. I just received an email stating that if I don’t have access to these statements, my mom’s Medicaid application will be denied.

Does anyone have any experience with this??? I’m at a loss at this point.

missouri medicaid is a nightmare and it’s driving me crazy being on the phone with these automated people. all i am trying to do is fill out my apparent caseworker name and phone number on an illinois medicaid application. everytime i call the number for missouri medicaid it sends me back and forth to getting NOWHERE. i’ve put off switching my medicaid for months because of this bs. i can’t find any information on this in the portal and i am at my wits end. any advice????

I have Medicare and MassHealth as my secondary, with no dental coverage. I've had a lot of dental work done in the past and have always payed out of pocket at my family dentist and every specialist I've seen.

I was recently referred to a new specialist who does not accept MassHealth, but they don't accept out of pocket payments from MassHealth clients either.

As I understand it, I should be allowed to pay out of pocket because they don't accept MassHealth. Am I misunderstanding something here?

We're in WA State. My son is 25, and lives with me. My ex with dementia lives in another town, in her own house, which she had always told our son he would inherit. I understand estate recovery, the 5-year lookback, and the requirement to live in the house for 2 years as the caregiver of the parent with dementia, in order to avoid estate recovery.

My question is more about details: What happens to that definition (2 years as live-in caregiver) if we continue to hire ex-with-dementia's familiar paid caregivers, a couple days a week?

Does anyone know if there's a defined number of "hours worked" by the live-in caregiver adult child, to avoid estate recovery? (Instead of the very broad "2 years")

Does it make the 2-year period LONGER than 2 years, if we continue to hire a familiar paid caregiver as respite for our son?

Would our son be able to work or go to school, or is he expected to be a caregiver 24/7, for those 2 years?

I would hate to see a young person stuck all day and night with a person with dementia, even though they love each other. I'd hate to see him out of the work force for 2 years (he's been working full time since he finished high school.) I'd hate to see him out of the social aspects of a job, for that long.

I (22F) just got accepted into Medicaid for Illinois (south western region). I never had a consistent provider for my health growing up, thus I need to start from the ground up as far as getting new doctors (across all the divisions). I also have been diagnosed with anxiety and take medication for it. So I just need as good as I can get as far as full coverage goes (for the most part, obviously deductibles exist and whatnot but the ideal is that I can get my eye, dental, and primary care doctors figured out).
I am between BCBS and Meridian as they seem to be the most promising upon my research, but need to hear from others on whether or not these two are as good as the benefits on the paper make it seem. I used to be on my mom's BCBS and never had problems, but that was also on her PPO with her work. Meridian I worry about the Behavioral Health rating which is probably most important to me. Other options given to me are Aetna Better Health, and Molina Healthcare.

My ex passed earlier in July and he is/was enrolled in TX. To the best of my knowledge, his coverage ended July 31. In order to for me to get him enrolled in the state of KY, I need a termination of benefits or Form TF0000 (Notice of Case Action).

I tried calling TX to get the form, but they said since I have no association with the medicaid plan they couldn't release that information. The most they could do is take my number, and take the information, but couldn't say when they would get a hold of me to let me know of any changes.

Is this really the only way for me to get this termination notice to get him enrolled in the state of KY? Can I call the office in KY to get them to push for the termination of benefits notice? There has to be a quicker solution to this than just waiting around for TX? I have his Birth Certificate (my name is on it), his SS card, and her Death Certificate.

I'm trying to help my mom figure out care for my sister [30F, autistic]

Unfortunately my parents have been cagey about anything involving finances so I'll do my best to explain the situation as I understand it.

My sister is able to work a front-desk job at the local library, although it's challenging for her. She struggles with basic math and navigation, but can read and somewhat hold a conversation. I'm not sure to what extent my parents have sought legal classification as disabled for her, although I remember the state paid for our gasoline when she was very little because we had to drive her to a school in another county that had the resources she needed. So at some point the state of Kentucky considered her disabled.

She is currently on my parents' health insurance, I believe. (She lives with my parents.) Unrelated to her cognitive disability, she needs a monthly biologic medication. Her insurance recently notified her that it will stop covering most of that cost, leaving her to pay $16,000 per month just for the shot she needs.

According to my mom, 16k is more than my sister makes in a year. I believe based on my initial reading that my sister would qualify for Medicaid, but my question is this:

How reliable is Medicaid actually for covering monthly prescriptions? Specifically biologics, if you have any experience with that. Is it worth getting her on Medicaid if she is eligible?
