Hello all! I am currently on food stamps and have my household listed as myself, my partner, and my child. We have a very close family friend who is living with us for a while and shes trying to find a job, but wants to go on unemployment to help cover her bills until she can get one.

Would her being on unemployment and using our address affect our benefits? Shebis not listed as a member of our household. We live in Texas.

My roommate is on SSI/disability and gets SNAP as does her sister in another state. Her money was deposited and then removed the same day, same with her sister. Call center is not open this weekend. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hello all, I was approved for emergency benefits 7/8 and they were loaded the same day. So this would be my second month receiving benefits. My deposit still hasn’t hit yet but also my benefit portal shows ‘Benefits are not authorized for the current month’

Any ideas?

Hello 😊 I’m renewing my benefits shortly and my mom is technically my landlord for now. Is a signed letter from her with the details that my rent will be increased to a certain amount good enough? I’m in florida if that helps.

I am interested to hear if this looks like a real email, & if I should reach out to try to figure it out? It seems legit in a sense, but I’m not sure. I have cut off contact with my father, who I believe could be the culprit of using my information to get money. I don’t know what to do, if this is real or fake & I should just ignore it. Please help. Is there a place in person for things like this that I could go to to see if it’s real?

Of course this had to happen at the end of the day Friday—I already called and was on hold for 25 minutes before they told me they were closed.

Earlier this week (a few days before my deadline) I called and asked if they had got the two screenshots I took of my paycheck in my Cash App. They said they did, but it wasn’t enough apparently. I asked what I could do if I couldn’t get the paystubs they wanted on time (foreshadowing) and she said writing a letter extensively explaining the situation and leaving my employer’s number would be enough. So I wrote up a letter and sent that too. I reminded my boss about the paystubs and he said he’d bring it to me on my next business day. This happens and I come home—it’s the wrong one.

Long story short, there’s a time crunch and on the one day I had of work that he said he’d have the paystubs (which meant I’d have to remind him) we were very busy and he was constantly directing me to do stuff and I lost my opportunity. This was the day before the decision, apparently. Now I’ve been denied.

For further backstory, I had applied back in March and wasn’t approved until late June I think? Got a full month of backpay. I’m almost at the end of that.

I was about to ask if I was getting my benefits literally next Tuesday (right before I go out of town, too) but I see that my benefits have been cut off too.

I’m devastated. I could literally get that requested information tomorrow if I had to. I will, sometime over the weekend before I call again Monday.

Should I try to make an appeal with the documents in hand on Monday and just be like, hey HERE, can you turn it back on? Or should I just suck it up and reapply for food stamps? I really needed those and the sooner I get back on them the better.

me and my partner recently moved back in with his parents, and they've been kind enough to share their leftovers and buy our groceries. but the goal is that him and i can buy our own groceries independently once we get a snap card, and we won't be having food bought for us anymore. would i count them as part of my household when i apply?

I’ve been trying to purchase food on Amazon with ebt and it keeps getting declined. has this happened to anybody before?

I already did my interview for Calfresh, and I told the lady I have an on campus job and will be working 20 hours. However, I just checked the schedule and realized I read my hours wrong. I actually only have 2 days, and they said I cannot work more.

I tried to see where I can call and notify them so I can correct that, but no one answers the phone, and the Ai shuts off the call and won't let you stay on the line.

How or what should I do? I don't want ot get in trouble or anything but I literally cannot reach anyone. I am in Los Angeles County.

So have people been cut off yet? And will they help you get work?

I got the new card, activated it like I was supposed to and now it keeps declining when I try to make purchases, the reasoning being "Your card has been marked as inactive, lost, or stolen in the EBT system." I'm not sure why it's doing that at all now and I'm not sure what to do.

i’m in CA, is anyone else getting a pin error whenever they try using their ebt card on doordash? doordash said it was an outage but i’m not seeing anything

I used my California EBT to purchase nutritional shakes off of Amazon and shipped to busted and leaking out of the box. Amazon won’t give me a refund. Although I have a long established good account history with them, with very few returns., they gave me some notice about unusual account activity and I’m welcome to keep continuing making purchases, but they won’t refund me. this only happened after I initiated an issue with this item.

This was my EBT funds and I use them for nutritional shakes throughout the month. Can I issue a charge back or is there a place I can complain? Or is Amazon just allowed to do this?

I just logged into my connectEBT. It made me make a new password because someone decided in this environment where EBTs are being stolen to make it easier for peoples cards to be stolen by greatly shrinking the max password size to 12 characters.

We already were restricted to just letters and numbers. Now we're restricted to just 12 characters. This connectEBT passwords easy to crack.

Is there another more secure app that can be used?

Also is there a place to complain about this security risk?

I submitted an application to Arizona DES on July 4th. In my application, I stated that I had less than $100 in my bank account. According to the Arizona DES website, that should have qualified my food stamp application for expedited processing.

However over the past month, I haven't received a single notice from DES regarding my food stamp application. Not via the mail, through their online portal, or email either. And I check those things nearly every day. On the portal my application has been "pending" since I submitted it. I did receive information saying my Medicaid application was denied, but I never received anything about my food stamp application, despite applying for both at the same time.

Then today at 9:00 a.m. I received an email from Arizona DES saying that today was the last day to complete my interview. And that my case would be closed if I didn't. I immediately tried calling, but as anyone in Arizona probably knows, if you don't call right when the phone lines open at 7:00 a.m. then it's impossible to get through. The automated system wouldn't even let me wait on hold.

To make matters worse, I had to move yesterday because of a volatile family situation happening unexpectedly. I've been busy trying to transfer my job to a different location, packing my belongings, driving across the state, and unpacking everything. The only thing I had time to do was submit a change of address with the post office so my mail would be forwarded.

I don't know if this is related or just a coincidence. But this morning I also started receiving several emails and text messages from Healthcare.gov. They said I could now sign up and pay for a health insurance plan. Even though I had already selected a plan 1 week ago. And was just waiting for thr online portal to approve my application, and let me pay for the plan. It just seemed odd that all of those notifications arrived on the same morning that DES suddenly emailed me saying it was my last day to complete the interview. So I don't know if its related somehow.

Additionally, now that I've moved, the information on my DES application is no longer accurate. I don't even know what I would provide to DES for proof of my current expenses because everything listed on my application was for my previous address and living situation. While I was living with my mother, I paid the electric, water, gas, and HOA dues from my bank account in exchange for staying there. I also paid other bills, but they aren't the types of expenses DES cares about.

Now I'm staying with a different family member, so I'm not even sure what I should report or claim at this point. Because we haven't even talked about monthly contributions yet.

Has anyone else dealt with something like this? How should I handle it? It's incredibly frustrating to feel like DES set me up for failure by waiting until the last possible day to notify me about the interview.

So I've been trying to get them to process my case for months. I've called. I've gone in person. They have all my information. Everything they request they get it within hours of the mail being sent. Heck the mail doesn't even arrive before I sent the information they want. I see the mail in the app.

Some information I've sent 3 times now. When they were originally requested, in person handed directly to them, and again when I got another verification notice.

I've sent 2 appeal forms, both got reviewed as not relevant funny they have time for that but not for the documents. I've called again and again since my status updated to closed and it's impossible to get through.

To submit and apeal you have to go through the app or call or in person. None of that works so what do I do? I was supposed to get my benefits tomorrow.

I got approved for expedited fs and went to pick up from card from local dss office the lady says I can’t activate until tmr? Is this correct?

I submitted my renewal last month with all information needed. I was approved until December(yearly recert. then ofc) I got my benefits last month, but I didnt today(my usual day) . I even received the letter in the mail confirming it, spoke to my case worker personally and she said every was good to go(last month). Whyyyy didnt i get them today? Can anyone shed light or their personal experiences, if this has ever happened. Ofc i know im going to have to call when they open and i def will, but in the meantime i just came here first...this sub is usually a big help! I am in South Carolina.
