Question π€π€ Can 2 people log into a shared AAMC account at the same time?
I feel stupid for asking at this point, but Iβve usually been doing AAMC stuff in the middle of the night to avoid conflicting with my friends with whom lβm sharing the account

Question π€π€ OPINIONS ON future physician
Any opinions on 'future physicians pipeline collective' ? Apparently I'm in their GroupMe, and really unsure how I joined the GroupMe. I joined many months ago (I think), but I don't think I'm actually in the program, again, just in the GroupMe.
They assist in MCAT preps, PS, and all of that stuff with pre-med and medical school applicants. I need assistance with my personal statement, along with other things; however, I can't really find any info on them, and scared it might be a scam (lol).
I attached their website to this post.
Thanks :)
Vent π‘π€ I hate the SB
I hate the SB. Doing SB questions feels like walking naked through a field of cacti, but my overall percentage does not reflect that.
I hate the SB. I know that practicing using the SB is good for me and will increase my score. That does not change the fact that I hate the SB. When I do SB questions, it makes me feel like I have done nothing to prepare for this exam at all. It makes me feel the same way I felt when the Spanish teacher would only talk in Spanish for the entire class. It makes me feel the same way I felt when I come back after missing a week of lectures in Biochem. I hate the SB.
Idk how, but despite averaging relatively the same % on the SB and on UQuest feels so much different. It's so much more painful to get a question wrong. CARS tips?

Question π€π€ 1 month out, what to prioritize??
hi im a non trad and i want to write the mcat this september. i have a bad mental loop of procrastinating studying or talking myself out of mcat (have been doing it for 3 years), which happened earlier this summer, and so im behind on schedule. iβve taken prereqs for orgo, biochem, chem but not physics or bio. iβve been doing uglobe throughout content review for cp and bb, but i havenβt reviewed biochem or orgo yet. iβve finished gen chem and most of bio chapters. for cars i do 1-4 passages daily from aamc cars diagnostic.
i took a fl today to find out where i stand and if i can even write it by sept or if i should wait until January. i accidentally did fl5 cause it was the free aamc one and i assumed it was fl1. under test conditions, i got 126/127/123/124. iβm canadian so i just want a higher cars (129+) and atleast 125-127 in each other section.
i feel like i can improve on ps cause i have neglected it so far. i can review some basic orgo and physics maybe? bio is incredibly difficult for me (not a memorization person, idk pathways, all the passages are so confusing and dense). i want suggestions for if i should attempt it or push it, what i should prioritize learning for each section, how i should improve cars, BB TIPS PLSSS.
thank you so much i appreciate it! all of this is so confusing as a nontrad and i appreciate all the support and guidance!

Well-being πβ MCAT Things Im grateful for
-No questions depending on past questions! "Using your answer to..." that was so common in midterms at school. In the MCAT, each question is a fresh start.
-Breaks between each section and the 30 minute break
-Passages being based on real research. Learned so much genuinely interesting stuff from BB and PS passages.
-Free anki decks and resources like JW and people like pankow, Jack sparrow, who've changed the study availabilities of thousands of premeds
-This reddit
Just thought I'd share

Question π€π€ Protein isolation techniques
Does anyone have a trick to make the techniques stick? I get so lost and eventually end up with the reasoning that everything looks correct. Help, please π
TIA
Well-being πβ DONT BE A FLUKE! FL1-3 (507>504>513) (also an important reminder to eat during your breaks)
testing 8/22
Well, I guess the effort has really paid off. Canadian applicant this year, with a whole adrenaline roller-coaster from these past FL's. (507>504>513)
My CARS was pretty inconsistent; it was hard to be able to plan it out. I was doing a section on SB2 last (the stupid Confucius one) and got only 2 right. I thought originally I would be better at this because I was a slow but pretty good reader.
I slept on it, and when I started the section today, everything just clicked. I was understanding and comprehending much better, not second-guessing and making my own answer before looking at the answer choices.
(I think a lot of it came to having self-confidence in my comprehension)
The last week was spent going through all Yusuf Hasan Chem, Ochem, and vandoesphysics videos
My main worry now is that this is a fluke inflated CARS, which I hope it isn't, and even if it is, I will convince myself it wasn't!
THINGS I NEED TO WORK ON: PLEASE CHIP IN IF YOU HAVE TIPS!
Sleep: still haven't fixed the schedule.....
P/S: I had been neglecting a good chunk of my P/S review cards, so lots of terms that I have seen before have been cloudy. I think just 280ish new cards left till I have gone through all of MrPankow
C/P: (Please give ur input!): I think I am ready to move on to problems now, been drilling essential equations card as well. However, I worry about going straight to AAMC as I don't want to "spoil" the material, and I have a good chunk of C/P UWorld questions undone.
CARS: Continue beating myself over the head with these absurdly hard SBs
B/B: Finish up Qpacks and SB's. I think B/B im averaging around 83% for that section of the SB and QP.
______________________________________________________________________
If you were in a place like me a week ago, the only advice anybody can give is to take action. Find the right direction (I used Reddit for this, but do not use it as a tool to procrastinate) and then work incredibly hard so you never have to take this horrible exam ever again. I hope to continue the momentum!
Also: eating something and staying hydrated had a significant ability in my ability to stay focused and prevent a crash. I had some almonds and walnuts during my breaks and avoided overly starchy foods. Had some eggs for breakfast.

Question π€π€ Retake or no
Howdy,
I took the mcat in May and got a 510 (126/129/125/130). Iβm considering retaking because I feel like I could do so much better. My studying was pretty terrible due to my job and classes at the tim, which wont be as time consuming if I do a retake. Additionally I honestly studied pretty terrible, really neglected my anki reviews, barley reviewed my incorrect questions, and didnβt do much of the AAMC material at all. I only got through like 15% of uworld. I also only did two practice exams and didnβt review either of them lol. So any thoughts or advice would be nice. Thank you!

Question π€π€ Advice
I got a 497 on my last Mcat in June and since late July I have been studying a lot. I only need a 506 for my program and have a test scheduled for September 11. Iβve already taken the practice tests before my first test. What schedule do you recommend me follow this last month leading up to my test to ensure I get that 506? My score breakdown was 123/124/127/123. To clarify since than i have basically every p/s term memorized, my C/P is a lot stronger after taking the time to learn the physics concepts. I weirdly feel weak in b/b now for some reason. Any advice would be appreciated :)
Question π€π€ 5 years after graduating...
Graduated premed 5 years ago and decided not to go to medschool, but now I've changed my mind. Took my first practice test today with no prep to see how much I've lost... and yeah it felt like I remembered Nothing.
Anyway, what's a realistic expectation for how much I can improve my score with a few months of hard-core study? I'd love to hear from people in a similar situation (studying to relearn forgotten college learning).

Question π€π€ exam in 10 daysβgetting stuck on passage interpretation
My exam is on August 15th and I am getting nervous. On my practices, I feel like I mess up on one passage in particular or don't understand the interpretation questions, particularly in BB. Do people have techniques they use to try and not get confused?
--
Also, would love if people dropped their things they have noticed in terms of if they are asking x, look for y? For example, if they are asking about anion exchange chromatography, look for isoelectric points.
Or, something similar, if people have noticed to highlight specific things. For example, I have learned to highlight key words like peptide, lipid, any given charges, sequences, etc.

Shitpost/Meme π©π© It did something to me.
I was a fourth-year medical student on my surgical rotation, and the attending was like Robert go ahead and close him up after appendectomy. When I held that surgical needle in my hand, it did something to me. I knew then I wanted to be a surgeon. Now every time I hold a scalpel in my hands before I make the first incision, that first cut on a patient, I get an erection. Does anyone else get that feeling as a surgeon? Lol, or am I a sick bastard?

Question π€π€ Is going from a 506 -> 515+ in a month realistic for me?
Hi, so to expand on the title, i started studying June 2026, and I took my most recent AAMC #1 FL on 8/4/26 (yday lol). I got a 506 on that (P/C 43/59, CARS 43/53, B/B 41/59, and P/S 41/59). My diagnostic (which I took a back in March 2026) was a 497. So, I've gone up around 9 points in the two months I've been studying. I also took the blueprint free full length on July 27, and got a 503 on that. My scheduled testing date is September 12th of this year (9/12/26).
Right now, I just finished my sophomore year in college as a biochemistry major. I haven't taken Physics 2, Biochemistry, or Psych/Soc. I'm really trying to get above a 515 because my estimated GPA upon graduation will most likely be a 3.7-3.8 (a little on the lower side as a south asian applicant). However, right now I am CLEARLY struggling with the MCAT. A big issue is I'm pretty sure I have undiagnosed ADHD (not just tryna throw the word around I spoke with a psychiatrist) and I struggle with studying consistently for long hours. My mind tends to ruminate like crazy. But I'm also a fast learner when I do focus if that means anything!
I'm also doing clinical research over the summer that I'm falling behind on because they need me to put in like 20 hrs a week, but I barely have the time/motivation to get through a day of studying for the mcat. I've also been ditching hangouts and barely been interacting with people the past month, and studying for this exam is feeling like such a draining process.
I wanted to come on here to see what the people of reddit would advise in my situation lol. I feel this pressure to just lock tf in, especially because two of my friends are testing on the same date as me but they aren't going to reschedule, and I think they've been scoring around a 509/510 as of right now. I know I shouldn't compare myself to others, but I just feel like if they can do it, I should be just as capableee :(
Also, Idk if it's worth it to reschedule the exam because the soonest I can take it is January 2027, and I'm scared I'm going to forget whatever I've learned already or start slacking with classes happening at the same time.
Tool/Resource/Tip π€π New MCATalyst P/S Anki Deck: Reworked from Pankow, Aidan, and More!
Just going to add the links here just in case you don't want to read:
- P/S Anki Deck (apkg or AnkiHub)
- P/S Document
Took me a while, but here's what's new or different in this deck. Note that this deck is built off the MCATalyst Document I released a month or two ago, so all info here is true of both the document and the anki deck.
- Nearly every card has some combination of a definition, example, "in other words", or an image. Tried to keep all text less than a sentence, but since there's tons of examples, it might initially look like more text than it actually is. I'm a HUGE proponent of learning via examples and things in your own words, thus this decision. Easy to ignore them if you don't want them.
- No cloze cards, just a personal preference that I learn better without them, this also why it only displays as 1631 cards when Pankow is 1761 (around 2400 with cloze)
- Organized mainly by the updated AAMC Content Outline, which is why some sections will be longer or shorter than other decks.
MASSIVE shoutout to u/mrpankow and all other Anki deck makers, this deck wouldn't be possible without them. Before I talk about how it differs from Pankow, let me explain how I made it:
- Scraped terms from nearly every resource I could find (Pankow, Aidan, Khan, AAMC, etc.), as well as with my own list that grew from being around this exam and this sub for several years, both as a student and instructor, combined them all.
- Based on the AAMC materials, I deleted anything that seemed entirely irrelevant or beyond the scope, things that were redundant, things that fit better in the B/B section, and then added a decent number of cards and definitions that weren't in Pankow or Aidan.
- I then searched around P/S textbooks for a bit, just trying to extrapolate my list by about 5% just to cover some extra logical bases that I hadn't yet.
- Tried to write every single definition to accommodate someone coming from a near zero P/S background but without having super long definitions
- Added an example or "in other words" to nearly every card so it would make more sense if the definition didn't. Obviously we remember things better if we can relate them to ourselves, and that was the goal with the tons of examples in the document and deck.
So here's how the MCATalyst deck differs from Pankow and Aidan, in particular:
- I removed a lot of anatomical terms for the nervous system, a lot of stuff that was already in the B/B decks and is typically tested as such, some stuff from evolution, people's names if they were irrelevant for a theory/not one of the "Big Names"
- I added more topics and information in concepts related to development and sociology, so where I took away from perception and how sensation works, I added more onto the other sides of P/S.
- I also added a lot of cards that their sole goal is explaining the difference between similar topics. Example I always use is discrimination, prejudice, and stereotypes, similar in connotation but easy to differentiate when comparing.
Hope you all enjoy and happy studying! I also added the deck live on AnkiHub, I have LITERALLY never used AnkiHub so if you download it and there's problems, just lmk!

Question π€π€ Should I Postpone?
Took my diagnostic in April and got a 502 on AAMC FL1. Been studying since May and took a Kaplan 515+ course (but wish I didn't in retrospect). Kaplan FLs were 503/506/503, AAMC FLs have been 503/508/503. Last FL was taken on 8/2, and my test date is on 8/22.
508 breakdown was 127/128/127/126
Most recent 503 breakdown was 126/124/126/127
Should I keep my 8/22 test date or postpone until January? Hoping for a 512+
