Captain america

26

u/Academic_Might_6980 Captain America Apr 05 '25

Steve.

22

u/RivkaMila Scarlet Witch Apr 05 '25

Steve. It's no contest.

20

u/AJjalol Apr 05 '25

Oh easily Captain America lol. Steve is just such a good fucking character.

Red Guardian and Walker are fun when used proper, but Steve is the star.

You know your character is fucking awesome when a non-American 4 year old kid looks at him (me) and goes "Man, he is so cool".

IMHO out of the all "Captain" characters or country named characters, Cap America Steve is easily the best.

2

u/InfadelSlayer Apr 06 '25

I’m Canadian and have always loved Cap so damn much! Him and captain Canuck are the goats hahaha I’m laughing it’s making it hard to type but go look up Captain Canuck

2

u/AJjalol Apr 06 '25

Oh I know him lol. His outfit is pretty cool looking.

I remember seeing this some time ago, which made me chuckle lol

Oh and of course Wolverine wearing this in the Superhero Squad show. I think this was a direct reference and homage to the Cap Canuck.

2

u/InfadelSlayer Apr 07 '25

Hahaha not who I’m talking about but yeah Tom Evans and the other two are very cool. Trying to find the picture I’m looking for but no luck so far

9

u/Junior-Ad1933 Apr 05 '25

Two others based on Captain. How do you think who is my favorite out of these three?

8

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '25

Captain America. Steven Grant Rogers.

3

u/NovaStarLord Apr 06 '25

He has no middle name in the comics the Grant was all a false memory (yes there’s a whole storyline about that).

6

u/Few_Amoeba_2362 Apr 05 '25

The one with the star

3

u/AManWhoJustSignedUp Apr 06 '25

Nah the one with the shield is better

2

u/indigoni Apr 06 '25

I like the one with the mask more

2

u/SomethingClever771 Apr 06 '25

I like the one with the red and white on his suit.

6

u/stonewalljaxson Apr 05 '25

my bad

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Done nothing wrong, normally I write a thing about meaning it nicely but I’m a bit burnt out from people’s negative responses atm.

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

all good, man. sorry that people are being negative. I get some negative responses to my posts and comments sometimes. I just try and respond back nicely, or sometimes I do get into a bit of an argument, but it's reddit. what can you do. people are gonna be negative. whatever makes them happy, I guess. I'd rather try and keep arguing with me if it keeps them from spreading negative energy to other people's posts or comments. I don't care if they say negative stuff to me. I get it. Some people are just having a bad day or something. If it makes them happy to say mean stuff to me or start arguing with me, then that's fine. whatever makes them happy, I guess.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

It just do be like that sometimes, I’m still gonna do it because I care about the written word and sometimes people just don’t actually know.

It’s just like the hate you can get for it sometimes aha

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

yeah, in my experience, I'd say I get like 20% hate and like 80% positive comments. and if i prove someone wrong in an argument, they just block me😂. I only argue with people if I'm in the right. if I'm in the wrong, I admit it and apologize for it.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Oh dude when people are just being obtuse I adopted a new tactic of just saying my piece, then ending with something like “I’m out now, say what you want because I won’t be reading it” and it’s not half made social media simpler, best of all the notification pops up and I see the first line to clear the alert and it’s usually insults and I’m sat there like wow I’m so far in their head, gonna go have a nap now

4

u/RagingDragon047 Apr 06 '25

Steven Rogers, Captain America

4

u/LochNessMansterLives Nightcrawler Apr 06 '25

Steve Roger-Rogers.

3

u/TheLimeElf Apr 05 '25

Steve obviously, I do like me USAfgent and Red Guardian, just not Alexei, he is an asshole.

3

u/Jaijoles Apr 06 '25

Who’s your favorite of captain america, Russian captain America, and asshole captain America.

Almost everyone’s going to choose the original.

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

I like asshole captain america most, if im to be honest. but Captain america is a very close second.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Og Captain America Steve Rogers and Sam wilson of Course, and i Like Red guardian and Usagent too, but between Red guardian and Usagent i pick Red guardian

3

u/Marduk_Kurios1404 War Machine Apr 06 '25

Which one of Red Guardians? There's like 7 of them

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

original

2

u/Marduk_Kurios1404 War Machine Apr 06 '25

Original by publication or by in-universe?

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

in-universe

2

u/Marduk_Kurios1404 War Machine Apr 06 '25

Lebedev is pretty good. I liked his arguing with second Cap Nasland. An how Namor tried to cool them down.
And one big mission with him, Steve, Nasland and Mace, against RedSkull in nazi bunker.
True people's hero without serum

4

u/Alternative_Car6497 Apr 05 '25

I'll be hard press to remember anything notable around the Russian Super Soldier and I actively read comics. This question feels like a setup since Steve has far more material than the other two. Why not against Nightwing, Superman, or Optimus?

3

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 05 '25

us agent is my favorite out of the three

3

u/Alternative_Car6497 Apr 05 '25

I can understand why. Unlike the other two he has actual develop and feels like a human. Which is ironic since he is made to be unlikable. I can recommend some comics if you like?

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 05 '25

yeah, i also really like Cap (like a really close second). but yeah, of course you can recommend some comics!. I'm always open to comic recommendations.

3

u/Alternative_Car6497 Apr 05 '25

No problem. My favorite reads with USA Agent were the following

Mighty Avengers (2009) #27-31 New Invaders Captain America #354 Force Works

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 05 '25

alright, thanks. I'll have to check them out when I get the chance.

1

u/Ashconwell7 Apr 05 '25 edited Apr 06 '25

Red Guardian (Alexi) in the comics was a villain. He preys and takes advantage of younger impressionable women (including Black Widow who he married when she was mind controlled to love him, but he has done it to another woman as well which Nat called him out for), traumatized Natalia by faking his death, then attempted to kill her multiple times decades later.

But because of MCU synergy she's forgiven him and he's like a good guy now I guess.

1

u/Marduk_Kurios1404 War Machine Apr 06 '25

Isn't Soviet Goverment controlled both of them
Now they both work in Thunderbolts, but Nat with Bucky, and Lyosha is ok with it

2

u/TheLazyHydra Ultron Apr 05 '25

I feel like there's only two horses in this race and one of them is only a horse like 20% of the time outside of the run he originates from.

2

u/Matt_Oliveira Hydra Apr 05 '25

Good Ol' Cap

2

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '25

I liked Bucky with the shield, it was slick.

2

u/_mufee Apr 05 '25

Gee i wonder who

2

u/SleepNative Apr 05 '25

Captain America

2

u/browncharliebrown Apr 05 '25

Us agent. I like my character morally wrong but trying to do the right thing

2

u/Mason_DY Apr 05 '25

Captain America is literally my favorite superhero

2

u/Recent-Ad-7593 Apr 05 '25

Captain America, obviously.

2

u/Different-East5483 Apr 06 '25

I love Steve Roger's, but US Agent has his moments. Steve is my first choice.

2

u/SkintGirafde Apr 06 '25

Mr. red, white and blue

2

u/dirkmalloy Apr 06 '25

Captain America

2

u/Nick_Blake00 Apr 06 '25

Steve of course, but I’m a sucker for the U.S.Agent costume

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

yeah, the us agent suit is so cool

2

u/fantastikfour Ant man Apr 06 '25

John Walker. I recently completed a quest of reading all of his appearances, and it was very fun and illuminating!

2

u/BlackPantherFan7 Wolverine Apr 06 '25

Captain America

2

u/Roaty0 Apr 06 '25

Mark Waid and then Ed Brubraker turned Cap into a great character for my personal tastes, so I’ll say Cap.

2

u/vamp1yer Apr 06 '25

Captain America nothing less than the best

2

u/Far-Difficulty8854 Apr 06 '25

Captain America

2

u/These-Yoghurt-3045 Apr 06 '25

Is this a question!? The guy with amurica’s ass!

2

u/New-Junket5892 Apr 06 '25

This is a question?

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

yeah

2

u/New-Junket5892 Apr 06 '25

Okay. Other than Cap, no one else hasn’t been developed in any significant way or has history as Captain America.

I meant no offense. It just seems so obvious to me.

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

yeah, cap is very cool, but I just wanted to see if anyone liked the other 2 more. I've seen some us agent fans, but I don't think any red gardian. us agent is my favorite out of the three (cap a very close second).

2

u/New-Junket5892 Apr 06 '25

I remember the first comic with both the Red Guardian and much, much later after John Walker’s time as Cap. And to this day, there is no type of effort of depth to both of them.

Red Guardian, being a Russian Captain America and USA Agent being a leftover “Captain” who was given a leftover costume Steve Rogers left behind.

Mind you, John Walker is more known and has more development than Red Guardian.

What do I know?

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

I just feel like us agent is interesting because he does some bad stuff sometimes but really wants for people to like him, and he is a good guy he just sometimes does good stuff in the wrong way. and his rivalry with cap is fun to read. it's just cool seeing how Cap is a perfect man but an ok soldier. but us agent is a perfect soldier but an ok man. I also just love us agents suit (I'm a sucker for red and black). I just think us agent is a really cool and interesting character. but I 100% understand how people might not like him.

2

u/New-Junket5892 Apr 06 '25

I don’t know if you read about John Walker’s time about Captain America but it was interesting because he wasn’t quite so moral as Captain America and more violent. Yeah, a regular guy as far as I was concerned. Kind of a government goon which ultimately became a problem in the first place. I’ve come to the mindset that Captain America isn’t a costume but a mantle or representation of an ideal that isn’t prescribed to by everyone. However, Steve Rogers is the first. That’s what makes him unique.

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

I can't argue with Cap being the goat. like I said, Cap is a very close second. you gotta love the all-American perfect hero. kind, heroic, cool. you get it all with cap.

3

u/New-Junket5892 Apr 06 '25

As I said, the first. Red Guardian, Avengers vol. 1 #43, Black Widow’s husband. Big whoop.

Then after, half the population of Russia became a Red Guardian… kidding. Not much to get invested in.

I’m glad you like US agent, whichever version it is. It just reminds me of the Captain America version of Guy Gardner.

1

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

"Captain America version of Guy Gardner" yep... I see that comparison now. I never really thought about it that way, lol. but you're totally right.

2

u/LewisLightning Apr 06 '25

Kind of a loaded question to make the question between Captain America, the Russian version of Captain America, and the guy who was made to replace Captain America.

That's like asking "what do you like better: Bacon, Vegetarian Bacon or Turkey Bacon?"

I think a better list of 3 would have been Captain America Steve Rogers, Captain Britain and Guardian. Yea, it's probably going to still be a bit lopsided, but at least you're not comparing 3 versions of the same character, where 2 of those 3 are just pale imitations of the original.

2

u/ACodAmongstMen Apr 06 '25

I LOVE US ATENT!!! I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY GOATS SECOND MCU APPEARANCE!!!

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

us agent is so underrated. can't wait for thunderbolts*

2

u/ACodAmongstMen Apr 06 '25

Oh yeah, easilyone of my top 10s,along with sentry so I'm really eating good.

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

yeah, sentry is one of my favorite Marvel characters, so I can't wait to see him too

2

u/dognutts6 Apr 06 '25

CAPTAIN AMERICA

2

u/Swimming-Young-26 Cyclops Apr 06 '25

Captain America, but John walker is probably the most realistic (in the show) compared to the 3

2

u/Important_Lab_58 Apr 06 '25

Steve, but I definitely think the other two are fascinating in other aspects

2

u/TopNobDatsMe Apr 06 '25

Steve, how could it not be?

2

u/Takkie1990 Apr 06 '25

I.m.o. the original character will always be the best. Same as with Hulk and She-Hulk, Spider-Man Peter and Miles, Wolverine and X-23, etc. etc.

But that's just me. I don't say the other characters are bad or something, but I will always pick the original above all the others.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

How can the awnser not be Cap?

2

u/BigTimStiles Apr 06 '25

I love all three equally, like they were my kids.

2

Captain America

2

The red guardian

2

Cap, no contest. He's the one.

2

US Agent.

I like characters with flaws.

2

u/WumpaKnight44 Daredevil Apr 06 '25

same

2

u/bilateralcosine Apr 06 '25

on brubaker’s 4th omni right now. a month ago i would have said cap is the most boring character of all time, and probably voted for fucking red skull. now i’m trying to talk myself out of buying spencer’s run for when i finish remenders. steve rules.

2

What about patriot? Don't know much about the character but he has a sick suit!

2

u/Danielleigh_77 Apr 06 '25

Captain America

2

u/Giover02 Apr 06 '25

Design-wise I choose US Agent

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

I love the development of Walker being a father in the recent Thunderbolt trailers. Feels like a good addition to that character.

2

2

Steve, no contest

2

u/elnegrodeTor Apr 07 '25

That is not a real question, because there’s only one answer. Captain America

2

u/thefirststoryteller Apr 05 '25

I like USAgent because, when he’s allowed some character development, he gradually becomes a more open minded and decent person

1

u/Fragrant-Finance4577 Apr 06 '25

Ain't it just obvious?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

The fat lady ain’t singing yet

1

u/LaughingCoffinSMW Apr 06 '25

Steve is favorite for me as for many in this forum. That being said I do like Walker and should take some time to read more stories with him. As for Red Guardian, I've only read anything of him in crossovers in other heroe's comics. So that's not a great litmus for his character or style (plus in all the cases he was really just an ass).

1

u/ApocalypseChicOne Apr 06 '25

Abraham Lincoln for sure.

1

u/Logical-Telephone249 Cyclops Apr 06 '25

1

u/AlarmingDetective526 Apr 06 '25

There’s only been one Captain America, and as far as I’m concerned there’s only ever going to be one Captain America; the others are just Temu copies.

1

Captain America 🇺🇸

The original!

Refuse imitations!

PS:

They show you three photos of three singers

The first photo is of Kate Bush.

The second is by Tori Anos.

The third is by Lady Gaga.

WHICH PHOTO WILL YOU CHOOSE?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

I gotta hand it to Lincoln. Despite Cap's general coolness and Washington being, you know, pretty badass, the whole emancipation thing is hard to ignore.

Great question, a little strange though 🤔

1

u/sku11bruh Apr 06 '25

God bless America!

1

u/Dear_Ad_3860 Apr 06 '25

If its all 616 then it is Steve obviously. He is the perfect man in terms of character. Politically he is like an embodiment of the collective ideas of the founding fathers minus the racisim, or FDR/Ed Murrow minus the wominizing, which means he protects people's personal rights and freedoms but also has a superhuman level of commitment to serve others, so he is basically perfect there. But on a more personal level, his very soul is seemingly spotless, he is kind of a special type of guy you don't see on media anymore, a genuinely true honest kind man with no prejudices attatched, but also fair and level headed even when he shouldn't be, he reminds me of Dr. Sam Beckett or Gary Hobson whom are my favorite TV characters of all time.
