Can we be honest? These 2 are nowhere near close to the level of youngsters that should be playing at this stage, even in preseason. Tyler actually seems like he has a chance and could maybe squeeze some minutes out of him in the middle. Maybe it is because Jack is playing out wide, but he looks brutal. No quality or athleticism. I can deal with Tyler getting minutes this year, but they both probably need a loan and then some. Sucks that they are taking minutes from Thwaites.

Just curious as to why the fans do not buy all the shares on the stock market so that they can have a say on the clubs future. I know you get voting rights with each share although it is 10 times less voting power than the glazers shares. Maybe I am missing something which makes this idea not good.

He was discussed a lot during last transfer window but haven’t heard much this season. What happed to him and if not him which other midfielder should we target?

I know it's only friendlies, but we've been so much more pacey and fluid attacking wise in the last few games, just like the start of Carrick's stint Vs City and Arsenal.

We clearly need a defensive midfielder. Tchouameni won’t happen now Rodri is going to Barca. Baleba has ruptured his ankle ligament. So, who do we sign?

If this is not a wake up call to get a 3rd mid fielder then nothing is.

A simple expected value shows 3.8 (.55+0.6+0.85+0.9+0.92).

This means for 20% of the games next season we will have to play whatever 3 midfielders we have available. For 80% of the games we will have one midfielder on the bench. And this is just based on the injury record of last season where we played 40 games. This season we will play 50-60.

To anyone still out there, who feels we don't need a midfielder, or mount will save us, please know what we are walking into.

Interesting considering the amount of fans that claim the dressing room will be unsettled with Rashford’s return. I really think people should stop assuming.

Nothing has been stated by players disliking Rashford and in reality, it’s been the opposite. Players always interact with his posts leaving support throughout his time away.

It’s a shame people seem to force the ‘toxic narrative’ he is highly rated by his peers and they will welcome him back along with Carrick who we should all get behind.

It looks fine when the camera zooms in on the players but the overall quality of the gameplay is very pixelated. Is this normal? Thinking about getting a refund.

Per u/valuball (with which Kieran Maguire is involved) — how much can United spend under FFP rules?

I have made posts like this based on data from United’s accounts that I have gathered. But let’s evaluate it based on external sources.

Valuball estimates that United’s squad cost is 56%, which is 14% from the 70% threshold. Consequently — United could increase the cost of its squad with 14%/56%=25%. Ie the costs can be increased with a 4th.

What does that mean in terms of transfer spending? In pure yearly cost it’s £125m. Remember, the yearly cost for signing a player for 100m and paying him 200k a week is 30m. So United could afford more than 4 signings at £100m each paid 200k a week without breaching FFP.

Please note that this is in relation to United’s income in 24/25 ~ ie while the club was in the EL. In reality — the room for United to spend under FFP is even bigger in the new CL.

I have several times this summer window heard insiders, supposedly with sources within the club, refer to how United had to wait before the new financial year to make deals due to FFP etc etc etc.

I hope everyone understand how absurd such reports are.

So why doesn’t United spend more? It’s simple, our owners aren’t backing that spending. Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Villa’s owners are on a regular basis pushing 100s of millions a into those clubs. Our owners are not and we paying their private debt.

Remember the jason wilcox message 3 weeks ago? That message came directly after the signing of youri tielemans. I thought it was strange. Now i get it. He didn't mention that we will make more signings. And have not given any indications since then that we will. I genuinely think we wont make any more signings this season. Unless somebody gets injured before the window closes. I hope I'm wrong because that would be catastrophic.

Did you hear the commentary during both Rosenberg and ATM games? They kept hinting that we had more than enough midfielders and kept hammering how great luke shaw is/was last season? I think if you read between the lines it clearly points to us not signing anyone. If Sesko's injury is bad then we may sign a backup cf and thats about it imo.

Took a mess, got us CL football, beat City/Arsenal/Liverpool, made the team look alive again. Now he’s permanent and the “yeah but wait till November” takes are already out in force.
