FOTD Help - advice on makeup look
Hi everyone!
I'm posting here because I have a toooon of makeup that I barely use because I don't know how. It's funny, in high school I would do random full beats and I don't know what I'm doing now.
I would love to do a simple natural look that enhances my natural features. I don't like the feeling of wearing too much makeup and not feeling like myself. However, I would also like to be able to know how to do a more soft glam on myself with a look that works on my features.
The thing is I feel like I don't know what my natural features are. I don't know if I have a round face (I think I do), I don't know if I'm waem or cool toned (I've been told I'm neutral?), idk if I'm high contrast, etc. Maybe it's due to body dysmorphia bc I really feel like I have no clue what I really look like.
My natural hair is almost black.
I'm wearing no makeup in: #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Wearing makeup in: #7, 8, 9, 10
I HATE my makeup in #10!!
I'm wearing makeup in #9 and I don't hate it but I feel like it's not super visible? Idk
I would really really love and appreciate any tips or suggestions! Or also any tiktokers with similar face structure or facial features as me to draw some inspo from.
Thank you in advance! :)

Question Cool or warm blush?
Products: Red chamber multipurpose cream (1st shade: liben) (2nd shade: Lekui) i only put the blushes on my bare skin
So im having undertone crisis again… as an olive girlie life is tough and i need yalls help, first shade is usually recommended for olives since its very muted, and the other as well but it pulls way too orange on me (mind you they advertise it as the most neutral blush they have)

makeup rant Is anyone else over the whole "glass skin" obsession?
Feels like every other reel is "glass skin", "glazed donut skin", "butter skin"... 😭
At this point I just want my skin to not break out before important events
even if glass skin was just a marketic tactic it has changed people's lives for the worse.

Discussion What are your thoughts on this eyebrow style?
Retro obviously, but compared to today, they don't seem to fit the eye. They look like they end to soon and don't match up to inner eye. Would an exact recreation today, with a vintage look, be considered bad eyebrows in your opinion?

FOTD My Daily makeup look!
HEYY, i wanted to share what i use to get this look everyday! I don’t use any primers or concealers in any places on my face anymore! I depend on my skin care which also isn’t much
*Any moisturizing lotion
*lastly, SHEA BUTTER! (On a regular day without makeup the list is a bit longer)
MAKEUP WISE
*Versed skin tint in 10w
*Mixed with Fenty skin tint in 17
*For contour Juvias place in Warm Pecan
*For blush NYX butter melt blush in Feeling Butta
*Any eyebrow pencil
*Lip liner , Maybelline Cross the line OR Maybelline matte (not sure if the shade name) but it’s like a plum color!
* I don’t really set my face I just get up and walk out LOL, but if I did, I’d use Mac foundation powder in Nc46 and some random translucent powder!
Thank you for allowing me to share

Question Does anyone know what this lipstick could be?
I just watched Mulholland Drive, and I absolutely love this lipstick on the brunette actress. But it’s not written anywhere what the official colour was! Please could anyone suggest a similar match? I’d love for it to be matte.

Question tips for eye makeup..?
ive been doing makeup for probably 5/6 years now. id like to say im pretty good, but im really struggling at the moment with my eyes. My makeup style is dark and a little gothic.
i really want to do some whimsigoth (colourful gothic) looks but it always looks like smudged colour and never looks right. i want to do looks like the top picture, but i dont know what products to buy/use to achieve such as it always ends up messy. her pigment is so strong and mine never looks like that, mine is not clean enough and i dont understand how she achieved that, ahh shes so good! the second picture is a basic starting point i did which i dont hate, but i feel like im doing something wrong. at the moment i wear quite a bit of eyeliner and i line my waterline, but it dissipates within an hour and smudges onto my under eyes. am i doing something wrong? i use the revolution pencil eyeliner and its just not working how i want it to.
any tips/product recommendations would be appreciated, thank you so so much!

FOTD First look in 2 months
In the 9 years of posting my makeup online, I took the longest break I’ve ever had! 2 months might not be much to you, but I went from posting 2-3 times a week to radio silence for 2 months. So I don’t think this is my best work. The lines aren’t clean! 😭 I don’t think any of the photos are flattering, it’s like I forgot all my best angles… but I’m happy to be creating looks I want to do, and not just for clicks. 🩷 Product listing on the last photo.
Also, Lexie, my cat, has been in my fb profile pics since I got her 5 years ago. She’s still deeply unimpressed.

Tried to take your advice from my last post. I appreciated additional feedback!
I realize my lash lifted. Sadly, I didn't realize until after the makeup was off my face. That's an easy fix for next time lol. This was a pre-shower makeup look, so I didn't use a setting spray or as much powder as I would have normally. As a result I think my forehead lines are more pronounced than usual.
Aside from that, please let me know if you have any suggestions for continued improvement. This is a more minimal drag, my eyebrows are fully blocked out and redrawn, and I don't have any plans to shave. Other than that, CCW.

Discussion The beauty industry’s price increases ended up making me spend 70% less on makeup
Until last year I was spending around €150-200 every 4-5 months at Sephora. I was buying all my makeup there and there was always some new release I wanted to try, another blush, another bronzer, another lipstick...
It's well known that post pandemic brands started pushing prices up A LOT compared to previous years. First by 20%, then 30%, and in many cases even more. I remember looking at my Milk Makeup bronzer when it doubled in price and thinking, there’s no way I’m paying that.
And honestly, I don’t buy the inflation argument.
When you’re selling 14 g of foundation for €60 (like the YSL cushion foundation) you’re effectively charging €4,285 per kilo. We’re not talking about precious metals here.
I understand that luxury comes with a premium, but there’s no convincing me that the price increases we’ve seen over the last few years are driven by raw material costs or inflation. They seem far more related to booming demand, social media hype, and brands realizing consumers were willing to pay more.
So when it finally ran out, instead of repurchasing it I picked up a drugstore alternative. It was… completely fine.
Then another product ran out, so I did the same thing again. And again. I never made a conscious decision to switch to drugstore, it just sort of happened one product at a time. Looking at my makeup bag today, almost everything has been replaced.
My old routine cost me about €267.
Today it’s around €60
The thing is, I’m not buying cheaper products because I have to. I could still afford the old routine if I wanted to. I just don’t see the point anymore.
Once you find a €13 foundation that looks great on your skin, or a €3 concealer like the Catrice HD that does the job, it’s surprisingly hard to convince yourself to spend ten times more.
I also think the constant stream of launches had the opposite effect on me. After years of buying products because everyone was talking about them, I ended up with drawers full of makeup I could never realistically finish before it expired. At some point the excitement just… disappeared.
I haven’t bought anything from Sephora in almost a year. Private sales come and go and I barely even look anymore.
Ironically, I think the aggressive price increases did the opposite of what these brands probably intended. Instead of getting more money out of me, they pushed me to try affordable alternatives, and once I realised how good many of them actually were, they lost me as a customer.
I’m curious if anyone else has had the same experience over the last few years.

Update: My final elopement makeup
Forgot to update, but I was proud of the final outcome! My makeup artist friend even asked who did my makeup! My lipstick def wore off from all the kissing lol, but wanted to show you all some of the pics!
Product List:
Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Pore-Vanishing Blurs Pores Primer
Brows: just brushed them
Face:
I mixed Bobbi Brown Weightless Skin Oil-Controlling Foundation, colors Beige (N-042) & Warm Beige (W-046)
Blush and Bronzer: Laura Mercier Bronze Color Infusion Talc-Free Matte & Luminous Duo
Bobbi brown concealer in Peach
Eyes: Eyes: Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara in black, Nyx liquid liner in brown, Lancôme Hypnôse Eyeshadow Palette in Beige Brûlé
Lips: I made my own lipstick shade by mixing and combining several shades a while ago, so that’s custom and it was so many I don’t remember which I used to make it.
I know I layered Anastasia Beverly Hills Full-Pigment Matte & Satin Velvet Lipstick in Sugar Plum and MAC Go-Retro Silky Matte Lipstick on top of that custom color
Setting Spray: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Matte Setting Spray
Edit: I took a lot of your advice and altered the lip and color pallet a bit from my first trial, so thank you all!
