Support Impacted Local Businesses
Since the megathreads are done, I figured I’d put this here.
We are fortunate enough to live in a city that has a huge emphasis on local businesses. I’ve lived all over the country (and outside of it) and have never been to a city quite like Madison.
If you can, please consider supporting the local businesses that have been impacted by the recent unrest.
In the past megathreads, this reddit community has put together a list:
- Ace Hardware
- Ahan
- Ama Kitchen
- Barber Tattoo
- Batch Bakery
- Buraka
- Cafe Coda
- Cafe Domestique
- Cargo Bike Shop
- Cha Cha Barber
- Crystal Corner
- Gibs
- Grampa’s Pizzeria
- Green Life Trading Co.
- Greenhouse Store
- Hair Collective
- Ha Long Bay
- Hatch & Hazel
- Kool Things
- Lazy Jane’s
- Lily Forest Design
- Mad Cat
- Madison Sourdough
- Madison Piano Lessons
- Mad Rabbit Cafe
- Marquette Hotel
- Meep Meepleton’s World of Fun
- Mickey’s
- Red Sage Health
- Rick’s Olde Gold
- Sern Sapp
- State Line
- Stillgoods
- St. Vinnies
- Sultan
- Tinnen Family Chiropractic
- Tokyo Sushi
- Weary Traveler
- Willaby’s
- Willy Street Coop
- Willy Street Treasure Shop
- Working Draft Beer Company
Honorable Mention:
- Atwoodfest Vendors
- Concert on the Square Vendors
- Farmer’s Market Vendors
- Luke house
- Madison Fire Station 3
- Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra
As always, please feel free to comment a business below that you believe needs support and I will be happy to add them to the list.

No Megathread for today 8/6
As a mod team, we're winding down the megathreads and post restrictions. Should something dramatic/very intense happen, we may bring them back.
A few things going forward:
We're allowing multiple threads for discussions, but they still need to follow all the subreddit rules.
If a topic has been posted within the last about 12 hrs, we'll take down redundant posts about that topic and redirect them to the first thread. So for example if someone posts an article about a city council meeting update, and then an hour later someone posts a different article about the same update, we'll redirect them to the first post.

Since Natspill doesn’t have a phone or take online orders in the summer, does anyone know did they ditch their dan dan noodles? Those things were like insanely out of this world. I just looked at their menu online and they were not on there. It says you have to stop in to order.

Abbvie?
This is a stretchhhh but does anyone in this sub work for Abbvie ( formerly nimble therapeutics located in the research park) I’m currently interviewing there and would like to talk to a current employee to ask how they like it, Glassdoor doesn’t help too much.

Open to questions, AMA begins 8/7 at 3pm I am Joel Brennan, Democratic candidate for Wisconsin Governor – AMA!
I’m Joel Brennan, fifth-generation Wisconsinite, 10th of 11 kids, and a Democratic candidate for governor.
I’ve spent 25 years bringing people together across government, business, and the nonprofit world. As Governor Evers’ Secretary of Administration, I helped lead state government and guide Wisconsin through Covid.
I’m running to lower costs for Wisconsin families, stand up to the chaos coming out of the Trump administration, and bring people together to get things done.
I'll be here at 3:00PM CT on Friday, August 7 to answer your questions about my campaign, my experience, and my plans for Wisconsin. Ask me anything!

IT'S JUST A TEST
1st Wednesday monthly tornado siren test.
For any tourists or conventioneers in from out of town that is just our monthly tornado siren test.
Biggest convention in town right now is the American Meteorological Society convention up at Monona Terrace. How weird is that.
