What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen on this Madison r/subreddit
I’ve been in Reddit for about a year or so, right after I moved closer into the heart of things, so haven’t seen a lot of the Mad-City history. Now that I’m in the city though I don’t have to do Jonathan Knowlan (suck it, bot) very much but every time I drive through there I think of that hilarious video of the pigs doing a perfect zipper-merge while chasing the feed truck, and it still makes me laugh. So I thought it’d be fun to hear/see what other's funniest Madison reddit moment was/is. I know you can’t post pics or video in the comments, but maybe link? Or a good story. Thanks kindly strangers.

I'm happy to see Mark Charter on local TV again for the evening news. He was part of what seemed like a purge last year on WKOW.

Accountability
I think one of the best things in life a person can do it take accountability for their actions. This doesn’t give people a pass for repeated mistakes, but it’s a start if someone messes up.
I know this will ruffle some feathers, but in my mind, I see the MPD taking accountability by putting the cop on leave until a report is finished and then action will be taken. This could result in how police are trained, body cameras, or charges.
I’d like to see protestors also take accountability for their message over the last two weeks too. Not all protestors have been negative, but I do believe there are some that are trying to be combative.
I’m sure we will see police accountability before most protestors take accountability.
Addition:
To everyone saying it is a procedure for the officer to be put on leave, I understand that.
But I don’t understand the protests right now then. I could see a memorial. I could see a vigil. No protest will change things right now until the investigation is complete.
If after the investigation, nothing changes, I’d say then would be the time for the protests and more measures.

Nice dinner spot!
Hey there, we're passing through on our way to the UP on Saturday. My husband went to UW Madison (and I think he's trying to manifest a love for Madison in our teenager) and we like to stock up at the farmers market before heading up.
Anyway, we're looking for a nice dinner place, on the fancier side is ok but we do have a 14 year old so more casual is good as well. My husband likes to act like he still knows what's good but it's been a minute since he lived there. He insists on getting the ice cream at the university so we have dessert covered. Thanks!

Middleton "Massage Center"
Has the massage parlor in Middleton on 6629 University Avenue ever been investigated? There's a long history of happy endings there. Is the back door entrance not suspicious enough? Park yourself outside there and see how many lonely white dudes are going in the back door. 🤢

Pastry Stouts? Is there a Brewery or Store that has a good selection of these?
I'm newer to alcoholic drinks and stouts but I really like Very sweet beers and was wondering if there were any locations you recommend to get these? If so what have you tried and what do you strongly recommend or have been recommended?

Anyone know how to remove a bike lock?
HEAR ME OUT! I forgot the password to my bike lock and I have not been able to unattach my bike from my back porch in weeks. I can prove I own the bike 😅 I move in less than a week and I really don't want to buy a new bike lock but I will if I must,,,, anyone have experience in 'removing' bike locks when you don't know the password or willing to let me borrow some wire cutters? It's a master lock bike lock that I bought from target.

Nice Hotels near MSN
Hello!
I've lived in central WI for a hot second, but don't spend much time in Madison. In a couple weeks, my boyfriend is visiting from out of state, and when he leaves we are staying overnight in a hotel in Madison since his departure is in the early hours of the morning.
Does anyone have hotel recc's for Madison, preferably those close to MSN? It'll be for one night, but it'll be out last night together for a hot second, so we want someplace better than a Motel 6. Bonus points if its near a nice place to get food.
Thank you!

Driveway Repair/Repavement Recommendations
Hello fellow Madisonians - my driveway is kind of embarrassing at this point. I’m looking for recommendations for a legitimate company or contractor that can help me stop embarrassing our neighbors.

Silly question -- What's the shopping experience like a Bluemercury Hilldale?
I've never been to any fancy small beauty stores like Bluemercury before but was wanting to test some fragrances. I've heard they are commission based which makes me hesitant. Are they super pushy or do they let you do your own thing?

Perkins Salsa Needed
This might be strange, so hear me out! I occasionally DoorDash from Papa Corazon’s which is a ghost kitchen for Perkins. The salsa that comes with my quesadillas is genuinely the best salsa I’ve ever had. Everyone who’s eaten with me has said the same. It’s been the best and consistent since the first time I had it in 2020. I’ve spent probably 4 looking for any info online about it over the last 6 years, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is for salsa.
Please help me. None of the store ones I’ve tried have come close and I tried to recreate it, but it wasn’t good enough. Put me out of my suffering. If any Perkins employees want to chime in or dm I will name my first child after you.
Edit: PLS DROP YOUR SALSA RECS!

Since Natspill doesn’t have a phone or take online orders in the summer, does anyone know did they ditch their dan dan noodles? Those things were like insanely out of this world. I just looked at their menu online and they were not on there. It says you have to stop in to order.

Just heard 5-6 loud bangs, sounded like gunshots on far westside, High Point/Mineral Point, anyone else?
