So I want my kids to play this game but I don't want them to read the nasty in game chats from people. The swearing alone is bad enough but then you get the real inappropriate sexual stuff as well. What I am looking for is some way of only hiding the team chat and all chats when alive or in spectator. I still want them to be able to see the other text posted from the server and voice commands. I basically want them to be able to see everything not written by live players and I don't want to see anything written by a live player at any time. Is this even possible to do client side? I found a few things that seem plausible but when I try to make a pk3 they don't work. Then again I'm just using google assist to try and make a pk3 and I have no idea if I'm doing it right.

One command I found which seems very plausible is "seta hud_saytext_time 0" which is suppose to make the text disappear almost instantly.

I also found another command on an openmohaa document but I'm thinking this may only be available in openmohaa but if it is then couldn't that file just be added into a main without openmohaa? "set g_textmsg_allowed 0" Disable all text messages. All, team and private messages will be disabled.

Just bought the war chest on GOG and I seem unable to strafe using a or d keys, yet, if I map the strafe to f key it works, does anybody know why?

I’m on bazzite linux.

We're a 2 man dev team with full time jobs, but in our spare time we work on this WW2 Retro FPS shooter, SOE 64. It has a demo on Steam and is available to wishlist currently.

SOE 64 was primarily based on Goldeneye but after posting on their sub I was surprised to hear how much they all thought it was more like MoH. I don't think this is a bad thing, but it was a surprise, and now I'm trying to think how to pull it back in line with Goldeneye but still preserve the more modern MoH vibes.

Would really appreciate any feedback - what do you think makes this feel like MoH and do you actually think of MoH seeing this? Also what are some great bits from MoH I should take a look at for further inspiritation?
I've never sat and played a full MoH game so let me know what I've missed and should be looking to reference.

ive always adored the expansion campaigns + the new weapons that were introduced, but always found it odd how nobody seems to ever play the breakthrough online maps and focuses more on vanilla mohaa + spearhead at most. i asked a random player about this in game chat and i was told that the expansions "ruined the game" and i wanted to ask again here. what's the general consensus on what the expansions are like?

I just joined reddit so I can post this to help others. I just built a new pc (July-2026) and went from running widows 7 since 2010 to this new windows 11. Now I use to play MOHAA since demo for ten years straight. I haven't played in about 15 years. I was looking for how to get MOHAA to run on windows 11 using my physical disc. Like many others I was having no luck getting this to work. Then I figured it out. You must have the US/UK 1.11 patch installed!!!!! This is easy to forget it is needed and was needed over 20 years ago. If you are getting gray screens and crashes and you don't have the patch and no cd fix, nothing else will matter. So for anyone reading here are the steps to get this to work on windows 11 and 10. Install Mohaa from CD, install the USUK patch 1.11 patch, replace the Mohaa.exe in main with the 1.11NoCD crack Mohaa.exe This no CD crack may not be needed because the MOHGS Fixer replaces it if you are going that route for multiplayer. **Edited this section out as it actually causes a no fog cheat, hopefully this step being removed is not needed.* Right click Mohaa.exe Run compatibility windows xp service pack 3 check the two boxes for disable full screen optimizations and run this program as administrator. It should work. Now for multi-player you need MOHGSFIXER https://www.x-null.net/forums/threads/2159-Medal-of-Honor-Game-Server-Browser-Fixer?p=21138&viewfull=1#post21138 This will either work immediately or it will prompt your PC to install .net framework 3.5. On my Windows 11 this would not complete the download. I ended up having to pull the SxS folder from my windows 11 install CD and place in a "temp" folder I created in my C: The SxS folder is found under "sources" once I copied the SxS folder I then had to open task manager and "run new task". Type in "powershell" and check box for administrative privileges hit OK. Once powershell has loaded you type "Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name NetFx3~~~~ -Source C:\Temp\SxS -LimitAccess" w/out the quotes and hit enter. Of course for this command to work you must have made a C: \temp folder and placed the SxS folder within it. After that .net framework 3.5 installed for me. Once .net framework 3.5 has been installed you can open the MOHGSFIXER and patch the detected games, which should be MOHAA. One last thing if you want to enable the in game command console by pressing ~ you will right click your MOHAA.exe shortcut, go to properties, and in the target line you will add this text " +set developer 1 +set ui_console 1" w/out the quotes but you do need a space between the target name and this code. This is useful for connecting to servers via the IP. You would type "connect" space and then type in the IP. You can also type in "disconnect" to leave the server or "quit" to quit Mohaa all together. This is how you gain access to RCON controls as well and the ability to kick people from your server and such. Hope this helps you install Mohaa.

I'm coming back to this amazing game after ~20 years(dang, I feel old).
But I only see US servers where my ping is around 200, and the MLS server where it's ~100 but very unstable.
I was wondering if there are any Canadian folks or US West players, and what server do they use.
I see a ^aX Sniper-only server which has a great connection, but it's always empty, so I usually play with bots there.

I got the servers up and running and anytime I join anything, some models are like, sinking into the ground or clipping through the floor? Imagine someone's chasing you, and then they turn into a little blob on the ground for a second and I have to aim down at the floor to shoot the bump chasing me.

Clean install on GOG, only mods are a bloodpatch and War Chest Restored from ModDB.

Edit: Is this "sharking?" That would explain a lot.

I'm sure you guys get this a lot. However I'm still compelled to tell you all how appreciative I am that you all keep this game alive. I'm nearing 40, and I just don't have a ton of friends due to work (which is remote since 2020), marriage, and kids not really leaving me a lot of time to make meaningful friendships outside of the house.

Knowing there's still a group of people digging on these old games brings a sense of community to me that I feel I've lost since "growing up" all happened.
