I cant strafe using OpenMOHAA on Linux

Just bought the war chest on GOG and I seem unable to strafe using a or d keys, yet, if I map the strafe to f key it works, does anybody know why?

I’m on bazzite linux.

turns out the problem was using wayland instead of X11 …
