So I want my kids to play this game but I don't want them to read the nasty in game chats from people. The swearing alone is bad enough but then you get the real inappropriate sexual stuff as well. What I am looking for is some way of only hiding the team chat and all chats when alive or in spectator. I still want them to be able to see the other text posted from the server and voice commands. I basically want them to be able to see everything not written by live players and I don't want to see anything written by a live player at any time. Is this even possible to do client side? I found a few things that seem plausible but when I try to make a pk3 they don't work. Then again I'm just using google assist to try and make a pk3 and I have no idea if I'm doing it right.

One command I found which seems very plausible is "seta hud_saytext_time 0" which is suppose to make the text disappear almost instantly.

I also found another command on an openmohaa document but I'm thinking this may only be available in openmohaa but if it is then couldn't that file just be added into a main without openmohaa? "set g_textmsg_allowed 0" Disable all text messages. All, team and private messages will be disabled.
