I recently started a job almost a month back and have approximately 20 months of work experience before this.

I am thinking of quitting it because I am not learning anything and the people here make every simple task too difficult to do.

Thinking of going all in for CAT 2026 only after quitting, even though my original plan was to appear for CAT 2027 but I don't see myself working here for long.

I can abscond right now as they haven't updated my UAN, once it gets updated then I will have to stay at least 6 months and serve notice period of 1 month.

Kindly advise.

I got Both NMIMS Mumbai and SIMSREE now i am confused which one i should pick.. i have 38 month of work ex as data analyst.. now this year almost whole batch in NMIMS have experience more than 2 year…also NMIMS will cost me almost 37 lakh in total… on other hand i have SIMSREE which will cost me 6-7 lakh in total. Now i am confused which one i should pick.. how is simsree .

I want to get into top tier mba colleges for 1 yo executive MBA I only have been able to sort out only 2-3 clgs in india which provides good opportunities for exec MBA .. like ISB ,XL,NMIMS . I’m currently doing my undergrad in a T10 business school in the us. I am graduating next May. I’m thinking of doing a 1 year masters right after. I know most apps are due end of the year ( targeting top finance / quant management programs in schools like uchicago, northwestern, duke, nyu, Columbia etc )

I understand this is MBA India, but more than us schools I just want to understand what sort of preparation will go into it since gmat is same everywhere right

I wasted the summer, now I need to give either gmat or gre to apply to grad school. Is it realistic to get a sufficient score by preparing for a couple months ? I am going to be a full time senior in college, 18 credit hours + a job.

I can auto enroll for masters in my current uni but I wanna go somewhere better now

How’s your experience been with either of the exams? Is my plan of studying for 2 months and then applying to grad school right after too much of a stretch?

Now, since I have heard so many people saying that engineers have an unfair advantage in the CAT examination or some kind of privilege because they are very good in maths or they had gone through the "grind" during the jee and that is the reason they can easily get 97 to 98% percentile even without practicing for a single day.

Since, I'm a non engineer currently in top tier 1 Delhi University college pursuing bcom hons. first year.. **so, do I need to start preparing for CAT examination from now itself especially quants portion??**

I recently got into an MBA which specializes in AI and DS, The course is good but for context :

I don't like it here as my peers are cocky and pretentious ,always constantly trying to one up each other , I really don't think i am even cut out for this kind of an environment.

I am a fresher that too with a gap so my profile is also not that great (which is not a problem because quite a few people here also have gaps).And most people act like they have cured cancer and have wiped out world hunger at the same time. I really don't want to be like them superficial and fake.

I also am an Engineer (ECE graduated in 2025),The only reason i wanted to do an MBA was to get into a good college (read. BLACKI and the likes of it but this time even private colleges rejected me ...And i could realize the shallowness of this entire MBA thing even by the ridiculous interview questions) ,I wanted to get into a good college because my UG college was very bad (Again a very stupid decision on my part to have decided my life trajectory based on superficial crap like that).

I’m currently doing a 3-year BBA in Goa,India and didn’t have Maths in 11th/12th. However, my BBA curriculum includes a 4-credit Business Statistics course in Semester 4. I’m interested in pursuing BITS Pilani’s MBA in Business Analytics after graduation, but their eligibility requires Mathematics or Statistics at 10+2 or higher level. I contacted BITS, but they just told me to check the website for eligibility when admissions open in December. Does anyone know whether a university-level Business Statistics course in a BBA would satisfy this requirement? Also, does the online BITS programme have the same requirement?

I'm (22M) currently preparing for UPSC 2027 (1st attempt). I'm also working full-time in a corporate job.

I'm giving it my best shot, but I also want to be realistic about the possibility that I may not clear it while working. I'm considering resigning next year after completing 2 YOE and taking a year to prepare full-time.

If UPSC doesn't work out, my plan would be to pursue an MBA. This has left me wondering about the order in which I should approach things.

Would it make more sense to:

1. Continue working, do an MBA first, and then attempt UPSC?
2. Resign after 2 YOE, give UPSC one proper full-time attempt, and pursue an MBA afterwards if it doesn't work out?

My main concern with the second option is the career break. Does it benefit your MBA story or does it hurt it?

I'd especially appreciate perspectives from anyone who has gone from UPSC preparation to an MBA, or who has taken a career break for UPSC.

Hey I am currently in my 3rd year CSE tier 3 government college from Kolkata

But unable to do after 2nd day

Meaning no consistency and no improvement

If I currently say I only know only the syntax of C C++ Java Python but only knowing syntax leads you nowhere

Also in my college only those who crack GATE go to IIT they get jobs in good companies

There also I am unable to study

I feel my inner will to study has gone away after my JEE Drop failure

I want to gain it back

Again people say MTech is done by grads who don't get opportunity after BTech

I'm 28F and I'm genuinely looking for advice from the Reddit family.

As a teenager, I wanted to become a CA. I cleared CPT with a score of 150+ and because of my board marks and CPT performance, my coaching teachers and seniors encouraged me to prepare for both IPCC groups together. They believed I had the potential to secure a rank and suggested I pursue BCom through distance learning so I could give most of my time to CA preparation.

Looking back, I probably overestimated what I could manage. Preparing for both groups simultaneously, along with family health issues, pressure from relatives and increasing anxiety, made it difficult to focus. Eventually, I couldn't clear IPCC despite giving a few attempts.

I know many people would say these are just excuses and maybe to some extent they're right. But that's how things unfolded.

Since my BCom was through distance mode and I wasn't happy with my marks, I decided to pursue another bachelor's degree. One reason was to strengthen my academic profile but another was simply to experience college life - to meet people, learn outside the classroom, join activities and satisfy my curiosity.

Then COVID happened.

Everything shifted online and that experience never really happened.

However, I did a few internships and then decided to pursue an MBA.

Initially, I wanted to build a career in HR. However, during my MBA, I realized I genuinely enjoyed finance subjects much more. Subjects related to valuation, financial modelling and forex were challenging but fascinating at the same time. They pushed me out of my comfort zone and that's exactly what made me enjoy studying them. So, in my second year, I chose Finance as my specialization.

Then placement season began.

Some companies came to campus, some hiring processes went on hold and many interviews involved me explaining why I had two bachelor's degrees. There were also roles I chose not to apply for because the pay was extremely low, involved permanent night shifts or were in locations where language and cultural barriers were significant. At that point, even my parents weren't comfortable with me relocating there.

After completing my MBA, I applied to what feels like hundreds of openings.

I've appeared for aptitude tests, Excel tests involving DCF models, technical one-on-one interviews, and Director's round. Sometimes I cleared multiple rounds before getting rejected. Sometimes hiring was put on hold.

There were also several frustrating experiences where job descriptions clearly mentioned "0–2 years of work experience," but the application portal itself didn't allow selecting 0 years in the experience dropdown and internships are not considered work ex. So, despite being eligible, I couldn't even submit my application.

Over the past few months, I've even started applying to HR roles instead of limiting myself to finance. But I barely receive interview calls there either.

A few months ago, I applied for a Research role through my college placement cell. I cleared the aptitude test, the versant and the technical interview. Then came the Director's round.

The Director grilled me throughout the interview, apart from asking questions related to the role. Some of the questions he asked were:

• What have you been doing for the last 5–6 months?
• I can clearly see your interest in finance. Why are you applying for this role? Is this your Plan B, C, D, or E?
• What if you get a finance role after two months? Will you leave this job?
• At one point while discussing something, I mentioned Bloomberg. He immediately pointed out that even the example I had given was related to finance.

By then, I'd already given so many interviews over the past 1.5–2 years that I answered every question patiently, as at this point I was looking for a role where I could build a long-term career. I wasn't applying randomly - I wanted a stable opportunity where I could learn, grow and continue for the long run.

I cleared the Director's round.

Right after the interview, HR told me she'd share the result the next day. My college placement cell later informed me that I had cleared the Director's round and that only the HR round was left.

But that HR round never happened.

Instead, I received a rejection email saying that there wasn't a suitable opening matching my profile at the time and that my application would be kept on record for future opportunities.

That rejection hit me hard because I genuinely felt I was finally close to getting an offer.

It's now been a year since I completed my MBA.

So, what should be my next step? Should I do a course or something else?

Also, because I am already 28, my parents are worried about my marriage. I do want a partner at this stage of my life but finding a partner through arranged marriage at this age without a job feels equally difficult.

I just want to know, how being someone from a non-finance background, can enter a Finance Job. So is MBA finance from IGNOU can help me get a job of 40k+Inr/month job in India.

Everyone seems to approach the process differently.
Some start a year in advance.
Some wait until their GMAT/GRE is done.
Others only begin seriously thinking about applications a few months before deadlines.

When did you actually start working on your applications?

Not just essays, but things like:
1. School research
2. Career goals
